Great property with partial ocean view
Unit was clean, comfortable beds, lanai with tables and chairs and partial ocean view. Kitchen was well stocked with plates, cups and silverware, however had limited cooking and bakeware (nothing to cook an egg on). Towels provided for beach and pool use. Ownership transferred to a new owner a month prior to stay. Owner set us up with new contact and the reservation was honored with the new owners. The only downside is that the new owners did not provide the beach amenities (beach chairs, umbrella, beach toys, etc) that were listed at time of booking.

Overall, this unit was a nice unit visually and in Size. A couple of things to recommend: 1. the supplies and kitchen tools were very minimal for the price we paid for the week. a full kitchen should have all the cooking utensils, bowls, ect. Additionally, there was no cooler or pool/ocean chairs, boogie boards, masks, ect. You have to rent anything and everything at the beach. int he bathrooms, larger shampoos, conditioners and good bar soap would have been appreciated. The bar soap was standard hotel grade with minimal lather as was the shampoos in tiny containers. To have to purchase at safeway was a pain. Of course you get a Full resort feel here at Honua Kai repsort with 4 pools. Not having hte ability to bring your own alcoholic beverages is a big minus as drinks at Dukes are average at best in quality and the cost does not justify the drinks. having a towel service is very nice and having one adult pool is a big perk, it would be nice to have another adult only pool and adult only hot tubs as children were in the hot tubs it seemed 24/7. Not a very Romantic style resort, but very family friendly Which I understand. I stayed at Honea Kai condos in 2016 in a 3 bed 3 bath suite and was very impressed witht eh restor then. My opinion now is that the shine has faded a bit from my previous visit.

Excellent stay!
Loved the resort, loved the room, loved the location, loved having Duke’s on property too! Our specific unit was conveniently located near an elevator, which was awesome. But, note that you hear the elevator through the walls. It’s not loud or obnoxious, but you can simply hear it gliding. Definitely not a dealbreaker. The bathroom was huge, the beds were comfortable and the kitchen was perfect.

Great resort but wouldn’t pick this unit again
We stayed in this unit during a recent family trip to Maui and while the resort is lovely I wouldn’t pick this unit again. We also rented from one owner and got an email a few weeks before arrival stating it had been sold to a rental company. Made communication weird. Pros: well stocked with initial supplies (paper towels, toilet paper, dish soap, laundry, coffee/filters). Can see the ocean from lanai. Surface clean. Cons: found a dead cockroach in the coffee maker (a new machine was provided but it was still so gross). Broken lanai screen upon arrival. Barn door over the second bedroom provided almost zero light filtering/privacy/noise control. This was an issue when travel with young kids who go to bed early. Saw cockroaches run across the floor and in the dishwasher a few times. Biggest issue was this unit is directly next to an elevator and it wasn’t stated in the description on VRBO. We heard the very loud elevator mechanism all day and night and it was so loud it kept us awake/woke us up overnight. Liked the resort, wouldn’t pick this unit again.

Everything was wonderful, from communicating with the owner immediately after booking through checking in to the beautiful condo to asking questions during our stay through the departure. The condo has a huge lanai with a beautiful ocean view, all the items needed for a comfortable stay, and was very clean and nicely furnished. The unit location within the resort is convenient for access to the pools and parking garage and walkable to nearby local businesses. Highly recommend!

Like a dream
This was my husband and my second trip to Hawaii, first with the kids (8 and 9 yo). This property is absolutely perfect. Amy was helpful, kind, thoughtful and provided constant communication from booking through to us making it home safely. She was incredible in her quickness to respond. The rental unit was spotless and spacious for our family of 4. We were very happy with the location, proximity to the pools and walking to the food trucks. Beach access couldn’t be any easier - it’s a tough decision to decide to walk to the beach and watch the sunset or relax on the spacious lanai!! Kitchen and bathrooms are stocked with anything we possibly needed- first class door to door! The property is managed beautifully. Always cleaned and well stocked. The parking process is so convenient and everyone on property is so kind and willing to share their “Aloha”. I would recommend Amy and this unit to anyone booking- it’s a perfect size for a couple or a small family. Book with confidence in this luxury spot, letting the spirit of Hawaii embrace and welcome you!!

Infant friendly condo in a great location
Booked super last minute, Amy was excellent to work with. The condo has comfy beds, couches/furnishings, baby gear, a fully stocked kitchen and a beautiful lanai that gives you a view of the ocean to the left and mountains to the right. The condo is located in a fabulous spot, excellent resort pools/grounds, close to the beach, near restaurants. We'd definitely come back to this spot. The elevator is right next to the condo making it easy to access the beach and parking garage below the building.

Beautiful and luxurious 2-bdrm condo in paradise
We had a simply fantastic stay in Amy and Eric’s condo. The accommodations were spacious, beautifully-decorated, and very well-appointed. Bedrooms were good-sized and the bathroom was gigantic with firehose-like water pressure. All of the necessary items were present (dishes, utensils, etc) as well lots of extras. There were tons of beach chairs, umbrellas, sand toys, coolers, and snorkeling gear. We had friends in another Hokulani property in the same position but on a different floor, and our room was definitely the better-decorated and appointed. The Honua Kai property is gorgeous, with multiple large pools, a “lazy river”-type area, and a nice dinner spot (Duke’s) on property. There is excellent immediate beach access, with good snorkeling opportunities that didn’t require any walking. There are even more spots with just a 10-minute walk south on the beach. Whaler’s Village is also walkable and Lahaina, great hikes, and even better snorkeling are a quick drive away. It was always easy to find a parking spot near our elevator in the garage. Amy was very responsive and helpful. We are very appreciative of her efforts. I am wary of reviews without any criticism, so I will say that the bathroom layout is curious. It is huge, but the toilet is not enclosed, making it difficult to share among 4-5 adult-sized people. Nonetheless, this property was a superb place to call home and I would recommend it most highly.

Perfect stay!
Our family of 4 was so happy and comfortable in Amy's place. The kitchen was stocked with essentials, the beds were cozy and the lanai was heavenly. We loved the folding doors that opened all the way. The closet full of beach chairs, and umbrellas was a huge plus. Amy went above and beyond to make sure we had what we needed during our stay. Highly recommend this listing!

Counting Down to our Return Visit.......
As this was our first trip to Maui, happy and thankful to say that this property exceeded our expectations and was more than advertised. Location was excellent, unit was very clean, beds very comfortable, kitchen was well stocked, great beach day gear, including beach chairs, umbrellas, cooler and the owner was so very helpful in providing information about the unit, local restaurants and things to do. We will be back and highly recommend this property.

Stay Here!
We loved staying at this property and will absolutely be back. Everything was clean, updated and well maintained. All bedding was maintained with hotel quality cleanliness (which is extremely important to me). The ocean and mountain views were amazing. The location of the room is great as well because it's right off the elevator. It was quiet. Amy was always available to answer my questions graciously, even when the information had already been provided. Sometimes you have some much info being through at you, it's easy to miss stuff. :) The entire process was easy from checkin to checkout and we had all the necessities we needed. Thank You Again!

Maui Vacation
The property was beautiful. The condo was great. So much better than a hotel room. Very comfortable. The host Amy was very courteous and helpful. Checked in several times to make sure we were comfortable and had everything we needed. It is whale watching season and I could watch them from the Lanai. Will definitely be using this property and host again.

Home away from home in Maui
My family really enjoyed her stay at Amy‘s place. We found the location was excellent, with an ocean view from the lanai and a quick walk to any number of swimming pools, food options, and the beach. Her condo was stocked with things we needed to make our stay with kids comfortable such as a portable crib, a high chair, and a booster seat. She was extremely responsive to whenever I would text her with a question, and my family and I would definitely stay here again.

Gorgeous quiet unit
This condo, is the perfect unit. It’s off to the side, so it’s very quiet, but you still get an ocean view and a bonus you also get the mountain view, makes for an amazing morning. It was very clean and well stocked. We actually rented two units in this one was so much better stock than the other one. I can’t wait to come back here again.

Amazing Honua Kai Visit
The property was perfect - we have a giant 18 year old son and his 13 year old brother and we had the perfect amount of space. The property has an amazing view, super close to the pool and on site store as well as to the boardwalk. Love Maui, love Honua Kai and Amy, the owner was lovely and very attentive. A great trip!

Gorgeous property and Fantastic host!
Me and my husband and another couple with their 18 month old son stayed in the condo for a week in December and had such a wonderful and relaxing time! Amy was SO helpful with communication and recommendations before our stay, it made planning our vacation so easy and fun. We had everything we needed at the condo to enjoy our days at the pool and the beach. The property is great, lots of pools, nice beach, and a lovely coffee shop/grocer we frequented often. Want to reiterate how wonderful Amy was, I have never worked with a host so hospitable, organized and friendly. Highly recommend this property, if we ever make it back to Maui, we will stay again!! Look no further
The two bedrooms were key for me and my two kids. This place had everything and was very well appointed. The resort is perfect. Do not second-guess your choice of staying here. There are a lot of other options of course but honestly look no further and you will be happy.

Overall great location and great unit
This was a great location, loved the view from the balcony of the ocean. The HOA is very convenient with handy upscale grocery and retail options, close to Whaler's Village and a great restaurant, Dukes, next door.

Great beautiful comfortable place to stay!
I have been to Maui several times and stayed in hotels and various VRBO's. I must say this one was a favorite! Beautifully decorated, comfy beds and nice sheets. Everything you need and more in the kitchen (including BIG coffee cups & wine glasses!). Outdoor furniture-nice, comfy and functional. Great view of the ocean from the end of the balcony-surely enjoyed mornings and evenings. Great location. Highly recommend Hokulani 642. Amy was amazing and made sure we had everything we needed. Will be returning soon I hope!

Great last minute getaway
My friend and I were pleasantly surprise how awesome our 5 day, last minute vacation went. The location, views, condition of condo and grounds made us happy we picked this place! Duke's on premise was a happy surprise! Snorkeling north and hiking south allowed us to see alot of the island.

Amazing Place
My Family and I had an amazing time. This rental with all the amenities they included with our stay was above and beyond. Thanks for welcoming us into your vacation home. It fit our family well. We enjoyed the condo, complex and all its amenities, as well as the direct beach access. Parking was always available, grocery store was nearby, and the condo was equipped with everything we needed to have home away from home. We especially enjoyed the snorkeling, longing on the beach, and three pools. Thanks again!

We had a great stay at this resort/unit very clean, great view of the resort and ocean. The location was great and the beach was so tranquil and relaxing.

We had a wonderful time & felt as it was our own with all the accommodations inside for kids. Great view! Clean! And great communication with the owners. Will definitely return hoping soon

This property was perfect for our family. Close to Lahaina. Plenty of pools and very close access to the beach. Loved the condo. Our host was very quick to answer questions!

Amazing condo!
The condo and the resort were absolutely gorgeous! Amy’s condo was perfect for our family. Amazing views at a perfect resort with plenty of space. The condo was clean and well maintained, well stocked with amenities and felt like home during our time there. Honua Kai was fantastic as well. The grounds were beautiful, great pools, easy access to everything and of course the food at Duke’s was delicious! Thank you Amy! We hope to come back again in the future.

Amazing property!
My family and I loved spending time in this well appointed beautiful property! Everything you could ever need for a vacation in paradise was provided (beach gear and toys for kids, boogie boards, beach chairs etc). The unit was clean, spacious, and perfect for a family with young children. We will definitely be back!

Perfect Location
Amazing view of the ocean from the balcony. Well stocked kitchen and extra bedroom was cute. Love the beach and the reef is healthy with coral and tons of fish and turtles. The pools were excellent and Dukes was convenient, and with awesome pool side service.

Lovely, well stocked condo in Maui
We had a great experience at the Hona Kai. The owners were very thoughtful and generous with the house supplies. There was everything you needed. Also, the beds were super comfortable -- even the foldout bed in the living room.

Fantastic Stay!
Our family stayed for a week in March and had a fantastic time! The condo was perfect for our stay with our kids, ages 8 and 12. It had everything we needed! We loved the pools and restaurant onsite. The location was perfect as well. We can’t wait to return!

Amazing experience
I don’t even know where to begin…this was the most incredible place we’ve ever rented (or stayed!). The view phenomenal, amenities perfect, beds comfy, place super clean. We had everything we needed! The kids loved the beach and the boogie boards. The pools were fantastic, and it was close to everything. Our hosts were the best!!!
