Great location on Oahu's north shore
The location was ideal for us. It was an easy drive to Kahuku and Haleiwa for lots of restaurant/food truck options. Only a 15 minute drive to Foodland groceries in Pupukea. We ventured to the windward side as well as Ka'aena State park and felt the condo was perfectly located.

Beautiful spot
This condo has everything you need for a comfortable stay on the North Shore. Brian is an excellent host. When we needed the lights fixed he responded right away. The condo is near beautiful beaches, nice hikes and good eating places. Every night we watched the sunset from Turtle Bay. It is truly a hidden gem.

Beautiful location
The condo was cute and in good condition and very well stocked. Many good surprises I wouldn't have expected to be supplied with. The condo was in one of the best locations in the entire property - it was like a treehouse tucked in among the vegetation surrounding the golf course AND there was a peek-a-boo view of the ocean. Sunrises were beautiful! Communication with the owners was great.

First Time Oahu Visitors
Nice place, well stocked w/everything. Really appreciated the beach chairs! Comfortable bed & pillows. Instructions to pick up key in big red mailbox is wrong, it’s black. Needs a working fan in the bathroom to vent steam. The two cockroaches (under living room windows) were a surprise, since we didn’t have ann food out. Thank you for responding to our questions regarding the washer promptly.

Great location and views
Nice property located close to resort, ocean/beach, golf. Short drives to other attractions. Property was nice, and clean. Bathroom could use a remodel, and no exhaust fan. Enjoyed the breeze through the unit at all times of day.

Wedding Holiday
Stayed here for our daughter’s wedding nearby. Unit is very well appointed and clean with great light and a nice view. A few minor issues but Brian, the owner, readily resolved.

Ocean Paradise
The hosts, The Kennedys, were very responsive and provided great directions in order to check in and find the beautiful condo. We loved every part of our visit at Honu Kai Hideaway. It was classy, coastal and comfortable. We got to access restaurants, beaches and excursions through Turtle Bay Resort while resting comfortably in a quiet home. Highlights, just a short walk form Honu Kai, were: Sea Turtles, snorkeling, kayaking, swimming, running trails and sun! A true paradise. Our first trip to Hawaii was perfect because of Honu Kai.

Wonderful in Every Way
HONU KAI HIDEAWAY provided a beautiful view of the golf course, flowers and flora along with the Ocean. We so enjoyed enjoying mornings and evenings on the deck! It was spotless upon arrival, well stocked, and spot on as to the description and photos on VRBO. The hosts were excellent in communication and going out of their way to accomodate a special request of ours due to a wedding. If we are able to return to the beautiful island of Hawaii we would like to return to this HIDEAWAY!

Older condo in a great location
Great location in Turtle Bay Resort area near amazing beaches and restaurants. Washer and dryer in unit is great. Fully stocked kitchen. The unit is generall a bit older with some rotting wood window sills that could use renovating. The bedroom AC is also very loud. The key pick-up/drop-off process is a very minor inconvenience so just something to keep in mind when planning travel times to the airport, etc. Overall, we enjoyed our stay!

Hono Kai adventure
We had a wonderful time staying in Hono Kai on our 12 day vacation at Turtle Bay. The condo was very well equipped, very clean, and a great location. The host, Brian, was very accommodated. We hope to stay in Hono Kai again, if available the next time we visit Turtle Bay.

All you need
This is one of those reviews you kinda don't want to write because you kinda want to keep it secret. But, it's just such a nice place in such a great location, and the owners were so quick to respond to any queries that it's just not fair to keep it secret. The bed is super comfortable, you are within walking distance to both Turtle Bay beach, and other public beaches (current might be strong depending on time of year, know your limits in the water), lots of hiking trails, there's a fine pool (depending on the time of year it could be crowded), the kitchen has everything you need, you are 15 minutes from all kinds of food trucks. Pipeline is up the street if watching surfers getting pounded is your thing. To try your own hand at surfing, there's a very good surf school right at Turtle Bay as well. Also, the golf at Turtle Bay is wonderful (not cheap mind you! but a very nice course). With the windows open you can even hear the surf in the distance at night. The owners live on the island and clearly care about the experience of their guests with very prompt responses.

Very nice location
We were able to walk from the condo across the golf course to the ocean, as this part of the golf course was closed. This is one of the best locations in the complex. The condo looks the same as the pictures

Quiet Paradise

A true vacation
Drinking our morning coffee on the veranda, with the beautiful views and just the sounds of the birds is the only way to go. Instead of a cramped hotel room with thousands of other guests, we had this. Lots of room, air conditioning was wonderful. Whatever they say you need it in Oahu.That is the way to spend a vacation. We had the pool to ourselves. Minutes from Turtle Bay. All the best beaches close by, hiking, great food. This is our second stay in the Turtle Bay area. No place else.

Fantastic stay!
This condo was exactly as listed! My husband and I had a wonderful and relaxing stay. The condo has a great location within the resort. It had a super comfortable bed, beach chairs that we were able to borrow and a relaxing lanai overlooking the golf course. We are already planning to book this condo again next year.

Wonderful stay
We really enjoyed this property. It was well put together with everything we needed and then some. The bed was super comfortable and the kitchen very well equipped. Even sharp knives!! We appreciated the vintage Hawaiian vibe the Kennedy’s curated. Breezes flowed from front to back keeping the space fresh and cool. Although we did take advantage of th a/c to sleep at night, so that was a bonus. Nice job Kennedy’s and thank you.

Turtle Bay Condo
I really enjoyed this condo as it was conveniently located for getting to all the beautiful beaches and downtown Haleiwa. Awesome view of golf course and view to ocean. Perfect North Shore Location
The location was perfect for golf, nearby food trucks, Kahuku Farms (try their banana bread, it's delicious), and a very short walk to the beach. Unfortunately the next door neighbors were loud (crying baby and screaming kid), but the owners can't control who the neighbors are. Most of our time was spent away from the condo anyway, except for the first day waiting for the airline to deliver a mishandled bag. The air conditioning in the condo worked great!

A Gem
It was perfect for us. Clean, comfortable, well-stocked and beautiful. You can eat at the table while looking at the ocean. The balcony is a plus... We loved our stay in this unit!

Magical place

Wonderful Place
The owners really made sure the process was clear and easy to follow. Had a minor issue at the unit during the week and owner was quick to respond and fix the issue. Place is located right next to the Fazio golf course that is currently closed but they are maintaining the course except for the bunkers which are being renovated. Kind of nice to not have to listen to golfers playing through all day and I am a golfer. Turtle Bay resort is close by and I would recommend getting a pineapple martini while you are there. Next time we come to Oahu, I would plan around staying at this place.

This was our second stay at Honu Kai Hideaway. It is the nicest, best located and has the best view of all the many condos we’ve rented at Turtle Bay over the last 15 years. The host Brian is kind, responsive and helpful. Everything you need is provided and recent upgrades make it even nicer.

Thank for a Great Stay!
The Honu Kai Hideaway is perfect spot for a Hawaiian vacation. The condominium was fantastic. We loved everything about the place. We loved how genius of an idea it was to have the wicker furniture in the living room. The condo is a nice walk to beaches. You can catch both a sunrise and a sunset from the point close by. We both really enjoyed Kawela Bay. We highly recommend visiting at sunset. The turtles would pop their heads up to say “Hi”. It was pretty great. Thank you for a wonderful home to spend our Hawaiian vacation. The memories we have will be cherished for a lifetime.

Perfect Place
We were kicked out of Turtle Bay resort due to construction. What a perfect find and it beat the resort price by far. Close to the beach and golf courses. Close to other towns, beaches, and food trucks (YUMMM) too. Having the washer/dryer and kitchen areas were perfect. Loved leaving sliding doors open at night for the tradewinds to blow through. Thank you Mr. and Mrs. Kennedy.

We’ve been to the north shore many times; this was the best place we’ve ever stayed. The condo is on the golf course with an ocean view. It was clean, supplied everything we needed and the communication with the owners was prompt and very helpful. Can’t wait to go again!

The end unit was totally worth a couple extra dollars. Can see the waves breaking over the golf course and get a beautiful view all day long. Comfy bed. Nice kitchen. All around great experience

Home in North Shore!
We had an amazing stay here! The property has the most amazing views of the ocean which you can hear at night along with beautiful golf course views. We were a 5 minute walk from the ocean and close to so many lovely take out places nearby. We highly recommend this place to those who want to feel at home while enjoying the North Shore!

Lovely accommodation
This unit was exactly as described, nice and clean. The property manager was always available by phone and most accommodating. We especially appreciated the provided beach chairs which were of high quality. The outside deck is perfect for relaxing with your coffee in the morning sun but, unfortunately for us, the wind made that impossible most days. But this minor issue was mitigated by the generous array of windows which overlook the golf course and the distant surf. Lovely spot!

This is an ideal way to enjoy the Turtle Bay community along with the beauty of the area, but without the expense of being an actual hotel guest. This unit is on the golf course with the ocean perfectly in view. Nice place!

Beautiful and Peaceful Environment
This is a great location with access to three good restaurants at Turtle Bay Resort. It's close to the awesome waves of the North Shore for viewing exceptional surfing. The condo was very comfortable with all needed ameninties.

Great place.
Lovely location for seeing the "north shore". Convenient for exploring the north shore towns (like Haleiwa) and beaches. Really got a taste of the north shore waves as they were really big while we were there. Access to the Turtle Bay Resort facilities was a bonus. (And we are not even golfers.) The condo had everything we needed and more. Very nicely equipped and clean.
