Terrific place!
We had an easy, comfortable stay here. The bungalow is as described. The pound of coffee and macadamia chocolates were greatly appreciated and enjoyed. Easy communication with the owner. Quite place, well located. 5 stars!

Best place on Kauai an island on an island
A little smaller than expected, is part of a triplex. We stayed in Hibiscus, which has nice light, a comfortable bed and is an easy walk to volcanic beaches, one with sea turtles- super rocky and well worth it, and the other with more tropical fish and more sand. It is a slightly longer walk to grocery stores, restaurants, and more shops. We enjoyed the back patio for breakfasts (when it wasn't raining) and some relaxed star gazing in the evening. We found that venting the windows and the ceiling fan running was sufficient for cool in November.

Wedding week
Location was fantastic. Daughter was getting married at The Beach House. Husband and I chose the perfect location for all events. The island is gorgeous. Would return if we ever return to Kauai. Thanks for a great stay!

Charming cottage

Great value for couples studio in South Kauai
Well configured studio in quiet neighborhood in Poipu area. Its an easy walk to Baby Beach and close to some really good restaurants and shopping in the Poipu/Koloa area. Well stocked by a responsive host. We enjoyed 10 days here comfortably in July and could easily have stayed longer.

Perfect place for our needs. Small but everything we needed. Really enjoyed the stay. If you have the opportunity, a fan in the bathroom would help with shower humidity. We will rent again when we return. Landlord did some nice extras that were greatly appreciated. Thanks

Nice week at Kauai Cove
Our unit at EJ's Kauai Cove Cottages was just perfect for our stay, with a quick walk to the beach for a swim & sunsets. We were close to many restaurants & beaches with easy parking for our rental car right out front. Comfortable, clean & stocked with supplies. Thanks for the coffee! The cottage was "as-advertised" and didn't disappoint.

Quaint studio in perfect location
My husband and I came for our first get-away without the baby (ok, he’s more of a toddler now) and this was the perfect location. EJ was super helpful when we had to change dates last minute. There is a thorough guide that gave us insight into everything close-by and we loved exploring from this less-crowded side of the island. There is an organic market within walking distance and the baby beach is adorable. One thing that I knew, but was a surprise to my husband who had only looked at pictures, is that this studio room is not a separate bungalow, but an attached row of three, so don’t be surprised that you share a wall with someone. We loved every second of our short stay and only wish we could have stayed longer!

The perfect cozy place!
Cozy yet roomy. Great island feel. Nice back patio where we ate breakfast every morning. Safe and quiet neighborhood. Walking distance to restaurants but you still need a car. It’s Hawaii after all! Would stay here again in a heartbeat. Bed was comfortable, shower was nice, kitchen well stocked. We don’t have one complaint.

Cute cottage well located.
The unit is small be well appointed. There is a small patio, which is enclosed by a fence with palm fronds overhead. My wife thought it was a bit enclosed. The location of the cottage is excellent, close to beaches and restaurants. If there were a view of the water or mountains, it would be great, but you need to venture outside the unit for those wonderful views. We loved going to Baby Beach, a short walk away, to watch the sunset.

What a Great Get Away!!!!
The property is just as advertised and better. Great location and very clean. All of the supplies that you need and even coffee to carry you over until you get to Kauai Coffee Plantation to get some of your own. The property owner is great and will help you in any way if he can what a Great Get Away!!!!!!!

Great place albeit a lil misleading
The Hibiscus Cottage certainly met our needs. For us, the missing component was any kind of “openness”. Everything, the curtains, has to be drawn for privacy. The nearest beach is about a block away so if you’re expecting to walk out the door and be on the beach, you’ll be disappointed. Again, because we were out and about everyday, it was fine for us.

Not as advertised but pretty good
Cute place . But not "steps from the beach" as described. it's blocks and about a 10 minute walk. Very disappointed in that aspect. But all in all it's a cute place with a very comfortable bed! Good launching location for South and West side of island site seeing. Nice little patio ate outside twice, nice bbq. Even with the free standing air conditioning it was still a bit warm. But, still a nice clean little place.

Guest must have missed Keiki (Baby) Beach??? A hidden favorite beach next to Whaler's Cove less than 200 yds away

Lovely beach cottage
My wife and I had a lovely time staying at this cozy beach cottage. We were quite happy with bow close we were to everything we needed and enjoyed the Hawaiian setting of he cottage.

Great location
Small but just fine for two people. If you do not need to be right on the beach this place is great. By car, Baby beach 1-2 mins, Poipu beach 4 min, shopping and good restaruants 1 min, Poipu village 3 min, have a Puka Dog, and Old Koloa Town 4-5.. Small air conditioner and fan keep the temps comfortable. Finally, for an old guy, SIX steps from the car to the front door. Aloha

Great place to stay!
My wife and I loved this property! Here are a few points of interest: The cooking facilities (hot plate, microwave, toaster oven, and grill) are adequate for basic meals. I used a grill mat for fish and chicken, worked great. There is a local fish market and small grocery store as well larger grocery stores in Lihue. The inside temperature mirrors the outside temperature. There is a standing A/C unit that works pretty well. The highs were in the 90's most of our stay. Closing the unit during the day did not help it stay cool. The owner does not want the A/C to be on when not there. The unit is very clean. Having lived in Hawai'i I am familiar with the many different occupants one might share their dwelling with. Overall we were very happy with this unit.

Perfect!
This cozy cottage had literally everything we needed for a perfect week in Kauai, from beach chairs and towels to coffee and chocolates. Nestled in a quiet corner of a small neighborhood within a 5-10 minute walk to Baby Beach, it was the perfect location for everything from walking to the beach to exploring the island not to mention being just down the road from the best Poke we’ve ever had (Makai!).

It is nice place and the owners are very responsive Pros: super clean, excellent internet speed, very well equipped (from wine glasses to beach towels), private Cons: the biggest issue for us was a lack of comfortable sitting. It's a small place and apart wicker chairs or kitchen bar stools there was nowhere to sit comfortably. The bed takes most of the room and sitting on the bed was not the best choice for comfort. Portable air conditioner offered no real relief to the humidity/heat even with use of an additional fan. Wall-to-wall thick carpeting added to the heat

Great Little Spot!
The property is VERY clean, and it very close to all that the south shore has to offer. The owners were very friendly and made the check-in process very easy. Baby Beach is only a few blocks away (but it is truly a small beach geared more towards little ones), but we did like to go down there for an evening swim once the families cleared out. There is a small standing AC unit in the room which helps to take the edge off of the heat. The owners ask that you turn the unit off when you leave due to high electricity costs. Our only concern was that a housekeeper came into our room announced when we left to get coffee. We came back to our fan unplugged and the AC turned off. It wasn't a big deal since we understand where the owners are coming from with costs, but we felt a bit weird about having someone come into our honeymoon suite when we were only gone a short while. Overall, we truly did enjoy our stay and would recommend the Hibiscus cottage.

Great location. Super easy!
We loved our stay in hibiscus cottage! EJ let us check in a little early which was a huge help. It was great to meet him as you could tell how much love and care he puts into his home. The studio was clean and well appointed with all the creature comforts we needed- including some yummy local chocolate! We loved the area as it was a great starting point for hiking, beaches, a boat tour and nice restaurants. After a long hike, we got some tacos and sat in the back patio with lunch and a beer. A great stay!! Thanks.

Perfect Island Escape
My husband and I were lucky enough to stay at Kauai Cove Cottage for the first part of our Hawaiian vacation the week before Memorial Day 2019. In addition to being in a prime location close to Baby Beach, the Beach House restaurant, and Poipu Beach Park, it's obviously well taken care of. The furnishings and decor add to the island charm and most importantly, it's very VERY clean. The closet had plenty of space to stash our belongings, the bathroom was a nice size to get cleaned up after our adventures around the island, and the kitchen was well stocked with a refrigerator with plenty of ice for cocktail time. The private lanai was also a great place to have coffee and listen to all of the unique island birds as they came and went during the day. The cottage is in a quiet neighborhood so we got plenty of good sleep each night. E.J. was a wonderful host who promptly responded to all of our inquiries and was more than gracious with meeting our requests. Although it doesn't have an ocean view, at no point did we ever complain about it. We would highly recommend this rental to anyone looking for an easy and relaxing island getaway and we hope to get back here in the not too distant future.

Charming bungalow in a convenient location. Cute decorations, but hot and stuffy air made it hard to enjoy spending time in it. Plenty of creature comforts either provided by property owner or left by other travelers. We found a box fan in the closet on our second night, which helped, but were bummed that the breeze and mobile A/C weren’t more effective in keeping the unit comfortable to hang out in. The little patios in the front and back added to the place’s charm. Overall we did enjoy our stay here and in Poipu!

Excellent place near beach
We had a lovely stay at Diane and EJ's beachy apartment. We found the location perfect for getting to the beach (10 min from a good snorkel beach). It also wasnt one of the copious amounts of cookie cutter condos which we liked the more personal touches. It was quiet and has a nice tv for the evenings and AC if it's hot There were many good restaurant options close by and they had a very good guestbook with some excellent tips on where to eat. Upon check in we were surprised with a nice gift of chocolate macadamias which were very delightful. The apartment was clean and had everything we needed for our stay. We enjoyed the private Lanai out back for breakfasts. They also had snorkel gear for guest use. Overall, we recommend staying!!

Cozy, comfortable unit in Koloa, Kauai!
My husband and I loved this unit, which is labeled a "cottage" and certainly has the feel and look of one! As stated in previous reviews, it is a unit in a triplex, and the parking situation was manageable and convenient, yet it did make it impossible to use the front patio for sitting. The interior of the cottage was so special and we had everything that we needed, from the barbeque, to the fully stocked kitchen, leftover sunblock and aloe skin soother, as well as other toilettries. The art work from local artists was so lovely and added personal touches that I appreciate. We had lots of fun adventures outdoors, but needed to retreat indoors during the hottest periods of the day, and found the cottage to be truly restful, cool and comfortable. Thank you Diane and EJ for giving us a home away from home!! We hope to return soon!! Mahalo!

Has everything but an ocean view!
My husband and I stayed at Kauai Cove for 4 weeks. (Feb. 16-Mar. 16, 2019) We loved driving right up to our door, no steps, no elevators, no other people. We had a kitchenette, fully stocked with utensils,a full size fridge, a hot plate, pizza oven, microwave and a huge outside grill. We had a small, private lanai with table & chairs. Owners provided a cooler, snorkel gear, beach mats, and beach chairs. The bed was very comfortable. The TV is brand new and huge! Plenty of closet space. There is air if it is too warm; a fan if you just want the air to move. The cottage really feels Hawaiian! It is very close to Whalers Cove, so only a few steps from the ocean, but there is no ocean view. If that is your desire, this place is not for you. All the southern Kauai activities are close at hand. Many are within walking distance. Owners will make suggestions for things to do if you wish. Just ask. The weather was mostly wonderful...a little wind...some showers which don't last long, but we loved every minute we were here and were sorry to leave Kauai! It was our "home away from home."
