Good Accommodation.
Overall, the Accommodation was good. But, (1) lot of illegal parking along the Resort entrance to avoid Parking Fees (I paid USD $35.00 ++/ per night), (2) the Bedding/ pillows need some improvements (3) as conditions of stay, we have to carry all rubbish (in clear plastics bag) to the Compactor at the back of resort (at least 100 meters away with walking pass the Reception/ Front foyers of Resort/ many onlookers).

There for a family wedding
Overall very happy with KBR. Lived on Kauai for 10 years prior to visiting the island for a wedding. First time staying on property. Pleasantly pleased. The room is not appointed with the same quality as the hotel rooms where other friends and family members stayed but still ok. The housekeeping does not do the best job. Missed replacing tissues despite specifically asking and my bed was missing the top sheet when I checked in. The owner is very responsive though and very accommodating. The hotel was in the process of being taken over by Outrigger Hotels which I trust will be a good thing in the long run but short run had a couple of hiccups. The location of the room is nice. Very close to the pool and not far from the lobby as well.

Worst bed I have ever slept on in my entire life
The mattresses in this otherwise lovely room are truly awful. They are cheap box spring affairs. If your partner moves, you move. If your partner moves, you also hear the springs loudly adjusting. The mattresses are rock hard. Honestly, I’ve never stayed in a Motel 6 - but I bet they have more comfortable beds. Aside from the truly horrible, uncomfortable, rock-hard, miserable beds - this place is very nice. The room was clean. The resort is lovely and the room is very conveniently located near the pools. If the owner would invest a little money in more comfortable beds, I would happily recommend it to others.

Resort is beautiful- accommodations terrible.
The resort is beautiful and well maintained however our unit was in terrible condition. The unit desperately needs a renovation. The bedding, towels and beach towels were horrible. Very used and old. Would recommend getting a different upgraded unit.

Family Friendly Kauai
Kauai Beach Resort was the perfect family friendly spot on the island. Multiple kids pools water slide were fantastic. First floor unit was great walk out right to the pool, loved the location. Only a couple small issues that bothered me, got into the room and a couple spots were missed in cleaning. Not really a big deal we’ll survive. A microwave in the room to warm up leftovers would have been a nice addition. A coffee pot of more normal size would have been a nice addition. My biggest grip is with the bed, hands down the worst beds I’ve ever slept on. After a day of exploration it would have been nice to fall asleep on a decent mattress. There is a Costco on the island you could put a fender mattress in the rooms for pennys. Otherwise great experience, would come back!

Room was perfect. Resort was wonderful. Our room walked out to 30 steps to pool, 150 to beach bar and 200 steps to beach. Great location. Close to everything Definetky would stay here again!

Pretty good
Overall it was a great stay. Only had two rolls of toilet paper for a week with four people, only four towels for pool which wasn’t enough but we made it work.

I am glad to hear that overall you had great stay. Sorry for the shortage of the toile paper and beach towels. I have discussed with my cleaning team and emphasized to put extra rolls of toilet paper for longer stay guests and give mid clean for guest stay over 7 days which can refresh the towels in the future.

Hidden Gem
Mahalo Nancy, your unit was perfect! Kauai Beach Resort is a hidden gem, convenient to the airport and navigating around the island on adventures, but also a lovely place to relax. Starting each morning with a walk on the beach and a swim in one of the pools. Staff were inviting and the selection of restaurants, and variety of food options, was a pleasant surprise. Had a wonderful time!

Oh Beautiful Kaua’i
This first floor unit was easy to get to and find. Quick step out access to the pool, beach, and restaurant areas gave options for food, drinks, rest, and relaxation. Staff on the property were very helpful and friendly. Our room was not ready upon check in, however it was only about a ten minute wait compared to the 20 minutes the front desk originally stated. Side note: there are chickens everywhere including one that would roost itself every evening on the patio chair. All in all - not a big deal aside from the poop it would leave. Check-in and check out was a breeze. Remember that parking is paid per day.

Room was clean and property was well kept. Ate at restaurant one night - food was good but menu was a little limited. We were out most days so didn’t use the pool or other amenities. Early morning wake up call from the numerous roosters on the property (and all over the island!)

Great stay
The room was great exactly what we needed for the stay. Nancy was quick to reply to messages with questions. The resort was beautiful. Location is central on the island. There is laundry just down the hall and a great water bottle filler too. The patio is nice. Pool and hot tub are pretty close. Beach is not safe for swimming because of rip currents but nearby beaches are good. The pool towels were easy to exchange each day making beach trips easy. Great stay, thank you!

The resort is beautiful, in a very central location, staff were super helpful and friendly. The room was perfect - on the main floor with easy access to pool, beach, lounge and restaurant. Would definitely stay her again!!

This place made our vacation! Perfect for our kids (ages 10, 12)
This room is on the main floor, opening to the courtyard area via sliding door. Outside is paradise, feet from the pool, and yards from the ocean. What was perfect for us is that our kids could come in and out door without having to walk around thru lobby, long distances, etc. We could sit on lanai and watch them swim. The resort is on the "sunrise" side of the island, and we enjoyed walking straight to the beach to watch every morning. Lihue was a nice place to stay, close to the airport (consider if you are getting in later at night) and about halfway between the north shore and Poipu. We traveled each way several times, but having the central location was nice. Also, close to costco, walmart, and other shopping. Check-in/out is an absolute breeze as you use the resort front desk at the hotel. This allows you to arrive early/late without any real issues. (Our flight was delayed 6 hrs, so we got there late and tired.)

Minor hiccup but otherwise it was better than we expected!
Keep in mind that this is an owned unit. The only hiccup we had was at check in at 3:00. Since the housekeeper is private (not part of the resort), the front desk had no idea if the room was clean for check in. It took about an hour to verify because the employees of the resort aren’t allowed in the room. HOWEVER, the kids wanted to go see the pool and play some of the big chess and 4-square games soot was t a big deal. When we got to the room it was more updated than the pictures showed with comfortable down blankets. The staff was very accommodating and welcoming! It’s right on a path to the pool and we had a lovely stay. My advice would be to just call when you land and let them know when you’ll arrive. Grab some lunch and enjoy town. Even with the little hiccup, it was an easy 5 star room.

I am sorry to hear that the check in took you one hour. This is very unusual, usually the check in is very smooth. If you call me at the time, I will solve the problem right away. But I am switching back to resort housekeeping starting next year. It shouldn't be a problem in the future. I appreciate you wrote 5 star review even with the check in hiccup. Not Really as Advertised
I love the Kauai Beach Resort but I had issues with this VRBO booking. I have stayed at the Kauai Beach Resourt several times, both as a hotel guest and as a VRBO guest. When we were looking at hotel booking options and my husband showed me the listing, I told him to book it because I wanted to stay on a certain side of the hotel. The picture of "view from the lanai" was on the side of the hotel I wanted. When we checked in they told us we were on the other side. Major disappointment. The second thing was the bedding and carpet. It all looked very dated. The bedding was beige instead of white and the carpet is old and the wrong type of carpet for a hotel room. I would not book through this person again unless I had real pictures of the exact room and the exact room number. Disappointed.

Great Place to stay!
We'd stayed at this property before, so knew it pretty well. Aside from some wallpaper coming down due to the humidity, it was perfect. The wallpaper didn't affect our stay, obviously, and we'd stay here again.

The property itself is beautiful and the location is great. Although this property is beach front the beach is not swimable The room we stayed in was clean but needs updating. Beds were uncomfortable, brown dingy carpet wallpaper peeling off the walls. Still enjoyed our stay but wouldn’t be a first pick to return too.

A great place to stay in Kauai
The location geographically on the island is great as it is positioned in the middle between the northern and southern parts of the island. The room location within the resort is great as it is on the first floor allowing you to walk straight out of the room directly to the pool area. There were some beach chairs, mats, and a noodle and small boogie board which were nice to have available.

We were very disappointed in this VRBO. We requested a 1 BR condo. This is a very small hotel room! Pictures online are very deceiving. There was one desk chair to sit on, that or your bed! Wallpaper falling off wall, refrigerator freezer had several inches of built up ice, room had a very damp odor, carpet old and worn.

I am sorry that you were disappointed in my unit. My listing clearly state that this is hotel studio. I don't know where do you get the ideal it is 1 BR condo? All pictures were taken from the unit. Kauai is very humidity and cause the wallpaper to fall off constantly. But I will schedule to remove all the wall paper. I have my cleaning people check the freezer every time before guest check in to make sure there is no ice build up. It looked like the door of the refrigerator wasn’t closed properly. The carpet is only one year old, but I will schedule to deep clean soon.

Great condo in great location
We enjoyed every minute of our stay in Kauai. Location of this condo was a fantastic middle point between the north shores and south shores. The beach in front is nice for laying out, whale watching and star gazing. You can boogie board and body surf about 75 feet to the north (there is a coral reef directly in front of complex). Pool is great and poolside service available. Kids loved smoothies and shave ice. The room is exactly as described and is well kept and clean. Coordinating with the local housekeeper for towel xchange was easy... she texted us and asked which day we wanted. Would stay again!

Nice place for the whole family
KBR is a wonderful place to stay on Kauai. 5 minutes from the airport in Lihue, but tucked away on the beach and secluded from the busy highway. Visiting the pools and waterslide was part of our daily routine. Naupaka Terrace served up a breakfast buffet that had a nice variety and was reasonably priced too. The owner Nancy was highly efficient at communicating with us, and followed up with some of my concerns. You gotta try this place!

We booked a special privat room and got a complete other one. The owner made a mistake . Absolutely not what we expected but we were too tired after a 24 hours flight we had to take it. After different telephone calls we got a reduction, but the first six days of our vacancy were disappointing. The room is damp and the wallpaper falls off the wall. The location is good, you can go directly to the pool but for three people the room, especially the beds, is too small. And this hotel part isn't good islotated, there is a connection door and you hear everything from all directions.

Incredible Place to stay! The room was clean and easily accessible!
With the room being on the first floor, we were able to walk out the back door and enter an oasis of gardens, pools & spas, dining areas, and the beach. The resort itself is at a great location with other destination spots being a short drive away! I would absolutely stay here again and again! Loved it!

Perfect location to settle in on the island. Comfy beds, mini fridg, micro wave and coffee pot.
Property is top notch. Driftwood has the best food at best prices And we were around the island for 11 days. The staff remembered my name from day one. Ice cream and shaved ice hut on site. Wonderful

Fantastic Vacation Location in Kauai
We couldn't be more pleased with the resort amenities and the location on the island. The central location is close to several surrounding communities with lots to do while in Kaui. We would highly recommend it.

Steps from the pool!
The location of the room is great — even though it was raining during our short stay, we enjoyed being able to walk easily back and forth between our room (first floor) and the pool. The room itself is what we were expecting — very much like what we are used to when staying at a hotel. Basic amenities but you’re not really in Kauai to hang out in your room....
