Albergo centrale e ben posizionato
Siamo stati una settimana. Certamente non è 4 stelle, ma il prezzo è più che adeguato al servizio. Molto pulito e camere giuste. Posizione favorevole in centro vicino alle fermate dei bus ed ai ristoranti

non è di certo un 4 stelle.
sicuramente l'hotel non è da considerarsi 4 stelle,considerando le condizioni generali della camera,bagno con vasca sporca e doccia incrostata di calcare,oltre al pezzo di intonaco staccato durante la notte.Da notare che la colazione è stata davvero scarsa,diversa da quello che ci si aspetta da una colazione continentale e 4 stelle.Unico punto a favore è la posizione centrale e comoda dell'hotel molto vicina al centro città.

Nel complesso tutto bene. La camera del'albergo ha un difetto comune a molte camere di albergo europee ove è difficile trovare prese elettriche oggi normali per ricaricare oggetti elettrici ed elettronici. Noi, ad esempio, ci siamo trovati a dover fare una cosa assurda: tenere durante la notte accesa la luce del lavabo che consente di dare corrente allla presa del "fon" (in bagno) al fine di tenere in carica la ricarica della macchina fotografica. Tutti sappiamo che questo dipende dalla paura delle strutture alberghiere di consentire l'utilizzo delle apparecchiature elettriche, ma è tempo di impedire tali limitazioni. Intendiamoci, questo non ha impedito un lieto soggiorno in una struttura tutto sommato sufficiente. Per questa ragione ringraziamo oltre che l'Hotel anche Expedia.

per chi vuole visitare il centro storico
Ho passato solamente 2 notti in questo hotel -agosto 2009- in quanto volevo vedere il centro di Funchal e questo è uno dei pochi hotel che ti assicura una posizione veramente strategica (ci sono solo 2-3 hotels nel centro storico della città). Viene indicato come 4 stelle ma non è assolutamente paragonabile agli altri hotel 4 stelle posizionati nella zona nuova della città. Sarebbe più corretto indicarlo come 3 stelle. Consiglio questo hotel a chi ha un budget limitato e vuole vedersi il centro storico di Funchal senza l'obbligo di prendere mezzi pubblici o taxi. Le camere non sono grandi ma vivibili, molto pulite anche se con pochi confort. La piscina posta all'ultimo piano è molto piccola, ci stanno al massimo 4-5 persone.

Stuff is amazing but the property and furniture is pretty old. No minibar and no coffee in the room although there is a kettle. I called ahead to confirm my booking but when I arrived I was told the hotel was overbooked and I have to go to Garisol for two days. Well ok but I also booked yours to pick me up from Windsor so this added extra costs to my trip. When I arrived to original booked room I was pretty disappointed - the toilet was dirty and the bed linens very worn off with someone’s hair on it. I got like 20 nasty mosquito/fly bites overnight and when I asked for help the receptionist told me “you must have opened the window and let them in” which I didn’t do it wasn’t nice to hear but I was given a spray and a gel which helped at least, so I was thankful for that. The pool is nothing like the picture. Pretty and small for full hotel of people. All and all slightly traumatized from this trip since I was tossed around like a hot potato and ended up getting eaten by insect. Better spend more and get better hotel.

Der größte Pluspunkt ist definitiv die zentrale Lage. Alle Buslinien Funchals können in wenigen Gehminuten erreicht werden. Die direkte Umgebung ist angesichts der zentralen Lage relativ ruhig. Das Haus insgesamt ist aber recht hellhörig. Ausstattung ist solider Standard. In meinem Zimmer war der Kühlschrank ausgeschalten und abgesperrt. Bett ist ok (recht straffe Federung). Aircondition funktionierte problemlos. Badezimmer mit Bidet. Wasserdruck der Dusche ist einwandfrei. Frühstück gibt es erst ab 07:30 Uhr. Frühstückbuffet mit recht übersichtlicher Auswahl. Frühstücksraum ist ein fensterloser Raum im Erdgeschoß. Um 07:30 Uhr teilweise so enormer Andrang, dass wegen Überfüllung abgeschlossen werden musste. Das Hotel wird gerne von größeren Reisegruppen gebucht, da ist dann auch die kleine Lobby im Eingangsbereich schnell überfüllt. Pool auf der Dachterasse ist sehr klein, und die Bar nie geöffnet. Das habe ich aber als positiv empfunden, da dadurch der Gästeandrang sehr gering war und ich Spätnachmittags/Abends die vorhandenen Liegestühle fast für mich alleine hatte ;-)

Super beliggenhed hvis man ønsker at bo centralt i Funchal. Service og herunder morgenmad elendig. Dårligste morgenmad vi nogensinde har fået på et hotel. Flere valgmuligheder på buffeten men kvaliteten af maden var under al kritik. Der blev i det hele taget ikke gjort meget for at hygge om gæsterne. Pool på taget med tilhørende bar. (Troede vi). Pool baren permanent lukket. Ikke mulighed for brug af pool efter kl. 1730, hvor selve tagterrassen også blev aflåst. Rengøring på værelset ok. Vi vil ikke benytte hotellet igen.

We stayed at Hotel Windsor for 7 days during December 2019 and had a wonderful time. The receptionists were very warm, helpful and considerate. The restaurant chef was enthusiastic and made interesting and nice main dishes. The cleaning of room was very good. This very central-located hotel is equipped with its own parking places. We would surly like to come back next time.

The ratings said that this hotel is 4 star but the bedrooms are old and outdated. The bathroom was pretty modern and pleasant enough. However the toiletries provided are very cheap and providing better quality shampoo and soap would drastically improve the experience! The furnishings need to be replaced in the bedroom though because they are old and worn (the old bed, headboard, wardrobe and desk were all made of an old wooden furniture from another age). Everything else including the reception, dining area and foyer were very modern and pleasant to be in. The staff too were very friendly and lovely and helpful.

A nice hotel, but.....
The Windsor was working so well for us until we asked for a key to the safe in the room. We were told that it would cost us 20 Euro per day! Plus a Key deposit! This is unacceptable! We have never paid to use an in-room safe anywhere in the world and, while the Windsor is a very nice hotel, it's not nice enough to demand that. We left our 'stuff' in the rental car that we parked next to the entrance to Reception (Front Desk) where it would be seen by the receptionist. The complimentary breakfast was about standard fare. The hot choices were, at best, luke-warm and the the cold choices were good. We reported that the TV in our room had dropped some English-speaking channels. Four days later, when we checked-out, nothing had been done, nor had the staff got back to us. Twice, we went to the Pool Bar on the roof to get a snack. The bar was open but no-one was there. There are no power outlets on the desk or the bedside tables. The only outlets are between the desk and the Mini-Bar but this was taken up by the Mini-Bar, TV and Table Lamps. The others are on the walls under the bedside tables requiring you to get on your knees and grovel to get a plug into the wall outlet. Surprisingly, there is no Tea/Coffee making facility in the room.

Very limited parking
If you are specifically looking for somewhere with parking, as we were, this is not the hotel for you. There are 3 spaces in total which is not enough, even for a small hotel.

Windsor heeft twee pro's: het is centraal in de binnenstad van Funchal gelegen en het heeft een parkeergarage (parkeren is in Funchal niet zo gemakkelijk). Kamers zijn ruim en net, bedden goed. De contra's: slechte wifi, niet werkende ac en een keer de bedden niet opgemaakt. Personeel is zeer vriendelijk en behulpzaam

great location/helpful and friendly staff
My experience with the hotel was very good. I stayed there 8 days and loved the fact that I was in the centre of Funchal. The reception staff was very lovely and helped me organising different tours where I was picked up from the hotel and brought back. The tours were great. I had an accident and hurt myself in the room the first aide person arrived straight away after I called reception. Unfortunately the injury was worse than I liked and I lost lots of blood the hotel manager and the cleaning ladies all were all there to help. They all were worried about the blood loss and did their utmost best to help me. After my return from the A&E the reception lady has checked on how I was doing. They were really great with helping to find the clinic to do further checks on my wound and stitches. I would recommend the hotel for his great location and great team.

Pas terrible.. parking gratuit non indiqué dans le descriptif, odeur d'egout dans la salle de bain qui explique la forte odeur de parfum à l'arrivée, baignoire tellement petite que le rideau de douche nous colle à la peau.., mauvaise insonorisation des portes et fenêtres, matelas un peu vieux.. petit déjeuner laissant à désirer..

Booked the hotel and on arrival we were told there was no room and they were relocating us to a hotel in the middle of nowhere (15 min drive away) and we did not have a car. Unacceptable with no prior notice
