The lady who owns the motel is so so nice and inviting! There were vacant rooms during our stay, so she let my husband and I upgrade to a room with one king size bed vs 2 queen beds. Every time we saw her she asked if she could do anything for us. They also have their dog at the property (they live on site) and she’s the sweetest, friendliest dog ever!!! The rooms were also very, very nice and cozy. Would highly recommend!

We loved the fire pit. It was so nice sitting around it at night and talking with other guests. The owner was very informative about the area and shared stories around the fire. Will definitely be back!

Great cozy stay
I really enjoyed our stay here. The beds were firm and comfortable, the hostess attentive and everything was so clean. I would definitely stay here again!

This is a cute old motel that was recently redone. The owner was great and the area is great but the beds ( at least in room 103) were so hard it was like sleeping on the floor. The floors are like ice and when you close the bathroom door to shower there’s only one light with a fan so it sucks the cold air from the floor and makes the bathroom so cold. Had to shower with the light off and the door open.

Hey Gideon!We're really sorry to hear that your stay didn't go so well. Thank you for your feedback. Finding the perfect bed for everyone is tough. We really researched mattresses prior to our purchase and tried to find a supportive, comfortable option we could flip. We purchased them from a local distributor who sells to many reputable motels. We really wish you had given us the opportunity to offer you a different room. That particular mattress may have been a little firmer than one of the others.As for the floors, we chose to go with the more popular option of vinyl plank. It's definitely not as cozy as carpet and can be a little chilly on the toes in the winter months. However, it is a much cleaner option. As new owners, we are still working to improve every guests stay. We appreciate you taking the time to submit a review. This helps us to continue to improve our property. We hope you'll visit us again when it's a little warmer:)

Hidden Gem in Maggie
This is a gem of a old school motel and has been recently renovated. It's nicely equipped with amenities. My only critique is sandpaper like towels and a very stiff mattress. Regardless of these critiques.... I would gladly stay again.

Great place and staff
Where do i begin. This place is A quaint, clean, no frills motel. The staff was absolutely amazing!!!! We loved the creek in front and even though it is in the heart of Maggie Valley, you baredly hear any road noise. The rooms were basic, exceptionally clean, and comfortable. We will definitely be booking this place again!!!!

What a Hidden Gem, back off the main road , convienient to everything in & out of town, quiet, freshly remodeled with old school charm. My room was spotless clean, comfortable, functional and new..... The property manager Boyd and his Furry Lab assistant were awesome, very helpful, friendly and knowledgable about the property and the area. (there was even a fire burring by the creek in the evening for guests to relax , unwind and feel at home). This definitely will be my recomendation and go to stay every time I'm in Maggie Valley..

Outside lighting on steps are needed close to the office leading up to the upstairs. Lamp fixture was broken. Beautiful creek setting out front of motel.

You can tell that a great many updates have been done. Shower needs a grab bar and maybe that it yet to come. For an older motel they have done a nice job. Although listed on Soco rd it is really off the main drag hence there is no noise from traffic. My husband really liked the pillows and asked for info on type. He hopes to hear about a resource but has not heard yet.

Heart of the valley is the best place we’ve ever stayed. You feel so welcome. Ever guest is friendly. They had bond fires everyone sat around the fire talking and laughing. Met some of the most wonderful people. Hope to see them all next year.

A great nights sleep
Maggie Valley was half way on a long trip ! I was able to find a nice meal and went back to my room to relax and sleep ! Best sleep I have had in a long time ! Very quiet with a flowing brook that was very relaxing !

Thank you. Being one of the few motels on the non Main Street side of Johnathan Creek really helps with noise. I hope you get a chance to stay longer and enjoy Maggie Valley next time.

I am glad I read the reviews. This is an older motel tucked back in the woods. A creek runs along the front. It’s clean, quiet and safe. And the rooms are updated for modern technology. There’s firewood provided for a fire and a big black lab to play with.

Good Home Base For Hiking In The Area
The Heart of the Valley motel has nice, spacious and updated rooms. They are very clean with new bedding. The bed was firm, which I prefer. However, the pillows were not very comfortable, because they were so big and thick. The owner/front desk representative was very friendly and helpful. The outside of the motel doesn't look as refurbished as the inside and could use some updating/additional work. I think adding an enclosed railing/banister that could be painted would help give the front of the motel some character and help beautify the property. The motel was our home base for a weekend full of outdoor activities. The Heart of the Valley is perfect for such a trip. My stay was great and I would stay here again.

We stayed here June 30 through July 2. Beautiful little place. Beautiful creek in front of the property and the property is located off the main road. Very close to everything. The owner was very nice. Will definitely be returning

Very clean, extremely nice polite and helpful staff. Firepit was awesome, right by the creek and the stars shined bright. Off the main strip so pretty quiet to enjoy yourself and relax. The motel pet was awesome too, she likes to play fetch with whatever she can find. Very sweet and smart fur baby.

One of the best experiences we have had at a motel. Caroline was so friendly and willing to help with anything. Be sure to bring extra treats for Maylene! She will give you kisses for them.

Perfect location, perfect stay!
What a great place to stay!! Owner was so nice and helpful! The room was big and very clean! It’s a nice quiet place, set a little off the road so no traffic noise. A little stream flows outside, so pretty! Overall a great stay! By the way, our destination was the Wheels Through Time museum which is walking distance, along with restaurants all around.

It is not right on the road, maybe about 100 feet. But it is absolutely gorgeous! You go across a small bridge, over a creek. You can build a fire, sit by the water, and just take in the views. Our room was very clean. It included Roku and cable for the tv. There are chairs outside every room to sit outside and relax. The owner is very friendly! Definitely will be going back! 10/10
