Perfect place to get away from it all...
Charming, rustic property. Very clean and well stocked with kitchen supplies. Fireplace heats the house very well. We didn't need baseboard heat (or we could have skipped the fire). Loved the sauna. So happy to not have access to WiFi. Comfy beds. Awesome hosts. -- responded quickly to a question and were very friendly. Loved the sounds of frogs and birds, and the stars were beautiful.

Great place to stay near Sax Zim bog
We stayed here three nights while we birded at Sax Zim bog. It’s a cute comfy cabin! Disappointed we didn’t take the time to try the sauna but maybe next time.

Great little get away….
This is our second time staying here. Property is rustic and very quiet. Tending the wood fire, and using the sauna were the highlights of our trip. We are looking forward to next year!

Perfect Quiet Getway
This cabin was nothing short of amazing. From the drive in to the cabin it was beautiful. We visited when the temps were -15. The fire place was great along with the steamy sauna. They had plenty of firewood for use. The kitchen was fully stocked with whatever utensils needed. Coffee pot, microwave, toaster, and crock pot to use. Plenty of extra blankets if needed. We loved sleeping up in the loft area, it was the coziest spot! We loved that they had board games and books. They had plenty do lights outside, especially leading to the bathroom which was nice. This cabin stay was the perfect quiet getaway we were looking for. If you are look to escape the hectic city life and disconnect, this cabin is the place for you. Thank you for sharing this place with us, we will be back!

Winter Getaway
This place was exactly what I was looking for! Peaceful quiet nights with a beautiful property to explore during the day. It was wonderful finding a cabin with a sauna; it made the stay that much better! Will be back for sure.

Grouse camp 2023!
We had a great stay! The cabin was remote and cozy just as expected. The sauna was a very welcome treat. Night time camp fires were wonderful and we got to hear wolves. Being able to hunt grouse right out the door was great and we saw several on the road within the property. Thank you a great fall get away!!

Peaceful Getaway Spot
While the weather did not exactly cooperate (lots of rain) we really enjoyed our stay. We appreciated the remote location and the quiet forest setting, perfect for relaxing after busy days visiting family in the area. Cabin was cozy, clean, and exactly as we expected. Thank you Jana and Arnold!

Beautiful Rustic Getaway
My friends and I loved the cabin for our girls trip! It was very private, secluded, and safe. The cabin was super cozy and homey. Our trip was awesome and we definitely plan on coming back!

Peace and quiet
If you are looking to get away to what feels like the middle of nowhere, you’ve found it! We enjoyed our weekend here. Quiet, peaceful, clean, cozy. The cabin owners have the place stocked with everything needed. But bring bug spray…the mosquitos were out! A good spray and all was good. We look forward to staying in the fall next time and getting to explore the woods.

Great property! Love the cabin! Sheets & blankets clean! Instructions clear & well written. The owners thought of everything! Kids said it was awesome except for the sauna not working out. Could have used some kindling and if guests would clean the dishes they use, would have been perfect! Thank you!

Up north experience no that was right okay submit good enough

Family and relaxation
My 7 year old said “ that was the best vacation ever” cabin was cozy. No running water? No problem. We loved the extra steps it took to do dishes and bathing in the sauna. Undivided attention with the family. Sauna was a hit. Would love to go back and visit in winter as well.

Perfect Solitude!
A dream spot for long walks and endless trail running. I only wish I brought a gravel bike too. The cabin is next to State Forest and 21 sections of managed forest with spectacular, barely used, gravel roads. This is a very special little log cabin in the woods!

Quiet getaway in the woods
My husband and I were looking for a getaway from the touristy area in which we live this past weekend and definitely found it at this VRBO. Loved the off grid quiet surroundings of the area. Beds and seating were comfortable, overall clean. The sauna was a nice add though the stove was cracked so we couldn’t get it hot enough, the fireplace was nice for a small fire when the nights got a little chilly. Great time of the year, no bugs!

Great cabin getaway
The cabin and property were exactly as described, and we found everything to be clean and lovely. The hosts were super communicative, and answered all of our questions. They even had some firewood delivered for the sauna while we were there when we let them know that the wood pile was low. The cabin was cozy and comfortable.

Great getaway!
We had a wonderful time. The sauna is top notch and the place is really clean. You feel really sucluded but not too far from virgina if you forget anything like we did. I will note we brought our AWD vehicle when we would usually bring our prius on road trips and i'm glad we did because the roads getting to the cabin were really icy and muddy (springtime). We will definitely be booking again

Great weekend getaway
We keep coming back year after year to get away and enjoy a relaxing weekend with friends and family. We also love how things have remained the same every year, so it makes planning the trip easy and feels like we were just there. Looking forward to returning again next winter.

Perfect Cabin in the Woods
We had the best time here! Everything about the property was accurate and better in real life ~ the sauna was fantastic with the -5° weather and keeping the wood stove roasting inside the cabin made for a cozy, cuddly weekend. We did some snowshoeing and really appreciated being able to have our dogs along. The area is quiet and remote, which is exactly what we'd wanted. The property owners were kind & accommodating. I would love the chance to stay here again!

Winter Wonderland
This was our winter third visit but it had been two years. It was like coming back to a wonderful friend. The cabin is cozy, has all we need and a perfect relaxing place. We tried out the sauna, cross country skied and tromped in the snow. Thanks to the hosts for sharing their cabin with us!

Having a Beautiful Slice of the World to Ourselves
We took a girls trip up for a few days to get away and loved that it was tucked away. Definitely felt like we had the world to ourselves. We did have a little trouble with the gate and getting the sauna going, but that might just have been from the cold and snow. Overall, a lovely place to stay! Would love to visit again!

Relaxing Getaway
It was a great place to really get away. Adjacent to lots of public land to get out and hike or xc ski. Liked the rustic nature but also appreciated that it was warm and had a soft bed.

Lovely little getaway
The husband, dogs and I enjoyed a long thanksgiving weekend here. Husband didn’t have any luck deer hunting but we still had a great time hiking in the snow with the dogs and warming up by the fireplace. I also enjoyed the sauna too! It was nice to have some cell service but not enough to get sucked back into the digital world! Would definitely stay again!

Very relaxing and cozy!
The cabin was very clean and cozy! The baseboard heating did a fine job heating the cabin at night during cold weather. Sauna is very cool! Instructions were easy to follow. It was not quite as private/remote as we expected. Lots of four wheelers going by on the main road close by. The neighbors down the way drove by a few times and we didn’t realize there would be neighbors. I do wish we had gotten a map of the property. We were not sure where the property ended and where was appropriate to walk our dogs. There were some trails down the logging road, but we weren’t sure if they were the neighbors property or not, or if they were out in the woods hunting nearby. Unfortunately someone had gone to the bathroom in the woods right by the fire ring and left it there. We had dogs, so we were forced to clean it up. It was generally a lovely stay though!

Mushroom hunting
My friend, my dog and I all came up for a weekend to look for mushroom and found a lot of luck! Chantelle and lobster tail galore! The beds were super comfy and the subs was incredible for a woodsy bath. I highly recommend popping into the whistle stop bar 4 minutes away as they were set as could be.

Couples private hideaway
We had couples private time with nature at this cozy cabin. We enjoyed exploring the plant life and identifying flowers with my cool new phone app. We liked the beautiful Fall weather in the daytime. However, at nighttime, as usual, it got chilly. It was disappointing that the bottom of the fire pit was soaking wet and there was zero kindling for the wood stove in the cabin. We didn’t get to enjoy the fire pit and we’re a little chilly some nights.
