hotel/pub molto carino; stanze pulite e spaziose; menù bere e mangiare vario e interessante anche se la cucina chiude abbastanza presto tipico delle abitudini inglesi

la struttura era sporchissima, nella mia camera non c'erano le tende quindi entrava la luce sia di notte a causa di un faro esterno sia di giorno, il bagno piccolissimo e con ragnatele, umidità, e buchi per il passaggio dei tubi idrici a vista da dove magari chissà cosa sarebbe potuto uscire..... sconsigliatissimo. a per finire colazione scadente

Staff are very friendly, but our room was absolutely filthy, there was cobwebs hanging like decorations, holes in the ceiling, patched up with black gaffer tape, the smell from flushing the toilet or turning the taps on was disgusting, the noise from outside was awful as it’s only a single glazed window, dirty marks on the walls, the room had so much dust in it, that when waking up my phone was covered in dust, so I hate to think how much dust I breathed in! This morning going for breakfast, it was like being in an exam with complete silence, tea & coffee was a hot water jug with a sachet, bearing in mind the bar was just across the room, but obviously no proper facilities, the breakfast was awful, the toast was a like a hard piece of cardboard, the toilets in the restaurant didn’t have proper locking doors. This place really needs an update and quickly if it wants to continue business, the only good side to this hotel is Sherwood Forest is literally a 7 minute walk from it, and you can get a decent coffee in the forest!

Staff were faultless, they could not do enough. Inclusive breakfast was really good Decor bit dated. I did hear they are due for. refurbishment, With that I mind I look forward to staying here again.

Nice room for really budget price with nice free breakfast thrown in. Big car par was quiet at night - no traffic. Pub has restaurant downstairs with usual pub classic foods at reasonable prices.

I stayed here on business - a good experience, though it felt a little like stepping back in time. Staff were excellent, food OK (good breakfast, though it took a while to come as one lady seemed to be doing everything, and several tables arrived at the same time (worth waiting for)) Stayed in a single room - interesting key position one the door - soft bed, no towels rail, open the window and you're right over the staff smoking/ chatting entrance - small TV, and no light over the desk, making working uncomfortable. I'd stay again, if for no other reason than it was a really welcoming place. I guess it'd be a good place for anyone exploring Sherwood??

Cheap..
Cheap and closest option are the reasons of my stay. It’s a very tired place, I had the bedroom with a private bathroom, this is separate locked bathroom a few feet down from the room. Breakfast was nice, busy place at night, didn’t eat there though.

First visit to Edwinstowe
Very clean hotel, friendly staff, & a place actively trying to do good to & for Edwinstowe community. A good base location to roam the attractions, cities & history of the area.

Lovely overnight stay
We had a great overnight stay. It was a good price with breakfast included. They had a charity night in their main eating area but they made us feel included and we even won a prize in the raffle. Great music was also played over their loud-speaker during the night. All in all we enjoyed our stay.

Arrived at the hotel at around 21:30 with my grandparents and husband after ringing and checking the previous evening that it was okay to check in that late, I had booked two rooms at the exact same time as we were all in the area attending a family wedding. When arrived, the man on reception informed us that he could only see one of the rooms that we had booked, despite me having two separate confirmation emails for the rooms. After approx 20 minutes he then informed us that there were two rooms available but one of them had a shared bathroom despite us having already paid extra for en suite bathrooms. I asked why this had happened but he had no explanation and said we would talk about it in the morning. When going to check out however there was no one on the desk just a box to leave the key in and there were no members of staff available to speak to. Overall very unimpressed with the stay and would be unlikely to recommend to a friend or return

Green light shining over the bed which lit up the room when trying to sleep. Impossible to,sleep. Could hear all the conversations in the next room. The breakfast staff were incredibly slow in taking breakfast orders. Ended up waiting 20mins before someone came.

Not recommended
Check in chap was pleasant and friendly. Lobby near entrance to room smells disgusting. Decor in need of a revamp. Mattresses are cheap and nasty, offer no support. Bathroom tiny, had to open door to make enough room to get dried. Basin is size of a cloakroom sink, inadequate for bathroom. Room above bar so noisy until 10.30 ish. Security light outside bedroom window and broken blinds made it far too bright to sleep had to use bedspreads to reduce impact. Room was above extractor fan so had to wait until this was turned off before we could attempt (unsuccessfully) to sleep. Breakfast was by far the best thing about the hotel although a pot of tea and coffee would be much nicer than instant. I guess they are used to dealing with complaints as the chap taking our key didn’t bother to ask if everything was ok with our stay.

Lovely hotel probably more suitable for couples
The staff were lovely however I personally don’t feel this is a family hotel, the family rooms were in the roof so up 8 sets of steps and being in the roof even with the windows open the room was unbearably warm plus there was an emergency light in the centre of the room meaning the whole room glowed green once the lights where off much to the delight of our child who is used to a night light but was extremely frustrating for the adults who like darkness - light and heat combined meant for a very poor nights sleep. Breakfast was really good, fuelled us up for the day and they were great with allergies as well which is always a bonus. The room was very spacious, nice tea and coffee station (with biscuits!) and generally nicely laid out.

A word of warning for those who need an early start, and booked an inclusive rate with breakfast, BREAKFAST DOES NOT START UNTIL 8am. Disappointing because the food in the evening was good, shame I could not wait around to sample the breakfast as it has good reviews!! No refund offered by the hotel or Hotels.com for the 5 nights I had paid for breakfast for....

Character hotel with god meals
Booked a single room which was clean, with comfortable bed but a bit cramped for my purpose as no desk to work at. Very importantly if you have to be an early starter BREAKFAST DOES NOT START UNTIL 8AM, not buffet breakfast so you will have to wait longer if you need to dash off as I needed to.
