Hi Cristina, thanks for taking the time in writing such a lengthy review reduced only to 'dirty sheets'. Fortuitously, we are given the forum to respond, clarify and present (and let's be honest here) what really happened... The private room that you did stay in for your 3 night reservation was not ready by the time you arrived as we had a small, fixable, maintenance issue that was indeed fixed. You were tired and our host, Mourad was able to give you a bed so you could sleep for a couple of hours before taking your room. The only space for you to sleep was a dorm room. You slept well for a while and were then given the room that you booked. A room that had literally just been clean - including a change of sheets! Hooray! You were unsure how to find Place D'Jeema el Fna and indeed the medina can be most daunting upon arrival. It is full of mazes and tiny alleyways - that is why so many people like to stay in the medina - to gain a new perspective and experience. Anyway, Mourad very kindly accompanied you to the square, explaining the directions clearly. You will have been equipped with a map and phone number should you have required accompaniment back to the hostel. This is a story on managing one's expectation. You may have stayed in many hostels throughout the world - that is wonderful. It doesn't make you a hostel expert - the hostel community is not homogenous - that is the joy of staying in them. You would probably have been more suited to a different neighbourhood of Marrakech, perhaps the new town. One that is perhaps more in your comfort zone. Our hostel is delightful - small, intimate and with first class service as a result of our brilliant staff. The decoration is indeed fabulous; the medina is indeed unique. Enjoy your future travels!
