Patience: we understand that they are updating, so you need patience while they are doing this.. They were doing the best they could under the circumstances. They were very friendly and courteous. We enjoyed our stay and plan to go again this summer.

There were noisy kids in the next room. Apparently they are kids of a staff member and he “checks on them now and then”. Yelling, slamming doors, running and yelling in the hallway.

The parking lot full of holes. Requested adjoining rooms and was told they didn't have any. Coffee in lobby was terrible. Room floors were dirty as was the bathtub.Could not get good reception on tv

Booked a room with a queen bed. Checked in and was put in a room with a double bed. Told the front desk and they moved us to a different room, which that room was slightly bigger, but still did not have a queen bed. It was only a double. Tv was fuzzy and had a terrible picture.

The rooms look dated to the 1970s. Our bathroom had water damage from the room above as well as the main room. Beds were full size, not queen size. Had to ring a doorbell at the counter and wait a couple of minutes to get checked in. Staff was okay Lobby needs new paint. Internet WiFi worked for about a hour. Breakfast was not that good. Waffles from a box, oatmeal, juice, milk and more or less, that was it. If you need a cheap place to sleep for a night and you don’t mind a fixer upper room, this is for you. I would not stay here again.

I booked my appointment on Expedia for 1 night. Room was paid in full. When I arrived they asked for my credit card which I thought was to put a hold for damages. I realized shortly after they charged me for the room. Nobody there understood why. The called other employees down to the desk. All employees stated they live there which was awkward. They said that the owner was coming in later that night. I walked to the desk later because I needed sleep. The owner was there. He stated he was not sure why and gave me his cell phone number to follow up. He said he believed the charge was pending and would fall off. It didn’t. I texted him several times for weeks and never got my money back. He stated that he would give me a free room next time I want to stay there but I’m skeptical about that. They also photo copy your drivers license and credit card which I now regret doing so. Pay the extra money and stay elsewhere. You will be thankful you did!!

Its unacceptable that the ownership does not allow the heat to be turned on in a room until that room is occupied. I have NEVER heard of such a policy.

Good value for the price. Clean bathroom and bedding, quiet. Breakfast had eggs and sausage as well as cereal and toast so could make breakfast sandwich. Good shower head. Staff busy but friendly and customer oriented.

Room smells awful, beds are awful building is in much disrepair, if it wasn’t so late would go elsewhere.

Bad experience
There were many issues, first at check in the desk personnel stayed on her phone during the entire check-in process. 2nd, the room was nothing short of filthy. The fire alarm was missing and appears to ha e caught fire at some point. The towel rack in the bathroom was broken and missing. The bathtub plug was broken right out of the tub. When it was addressed, it appeared the morning desk personnel didnt care.

The hotel staff was plesant the breakfest was a joke if you were not down there right when the food came out you didnt get any saturday came back with to tried grandkids 3&5 the key wouldnt work had to go down 2x to address it my sister went back out later and the key still didnt work my sister she has never stayed in ecno lodge so bad

The whole place smelled of stale tobacco . Bedspread filthy with large stains and large cigarette burn holes . Blanket underneath also had stains and cigarette holes . Floor dirty . Refrigerator in room did not work even when plugged in . We asked for decent bed covers and blanket and the staff said they all were the same with stains and holes!!!! Unacceptable!!! The staff appeared to be doing the best they could under the circumstances but we payed a lot and slept badly as we had no covers and worried the place would go up in a blaze with all those smokers . The outside had bunches of weeds and old cigarette butts laying around in piles by the entrance and curb . A most unpleasant experience and we left exhausted . No luggage carrier available and they have only one and a family abandoned it on the third floor and did not return it until they left the next day . Breakfast tables in front of elevator in a hallway like area! Just put a basket of items in the room! Bathroom had no exhaust ! Sheets also had shavings of something black between them!! What was that! I request a full refund .

It was run down , holes in the bed covers ,holes in the walls of the room ,had been bug sprayed so had to air it out a few hours . Staff was very nice and the breakfast was more than i expected, but I will not book at a Econo Lodge again

Pro: easy access from the interstate and main local road, inexpensive in comparison to other area properties, and friendly staff. Con: property is in serious need of physical upgrades inside and out, including a deep overall cleaning

I was told my door battery was dying, and that I would need to prop the door open if I wanted to leave my room. The mirror in the bathroom was not cleaned as I saw dry toothpaste splashed on it. There were no washcloths, just hand towels. I could see dry liquid spots on floor looking as if they didn’t mop. Apparently I wasn’t the only unhappy customer as there was a man screaming at 5 in the morning about the conditions in his room as well. We were just passing through, and all the other hotels were booked. I will not book with that hotel again

The property is run down. The air conditioner in our room only worked sporadically, making the room very hot and humid. We stayed 4 nights. Housekeeping never came to our room. I had to go to the front desk and get towels and toilet paper. The WiFi was terrible.

Since Erie, PA was largely sold out or outrageously priced, I found this more reasonably-priced option at $140 through Expedia.com (though outrageous for an Econo Lodge). From the outside, it looked nice enough. It is in a small cluster of stores, with an Applebee's right next door. The moment I walked in, however, I was greeted by 3 unpleasant realities: 1) A sign on the front door announcing that the hotel is closed from midnight to 6:00 am, the front door will be locked, and no one will be on staff. Seeing as I was arriving late and had not eaten all day, it was disappointing to learn I had a curfew. 2) An overwhelming smell of cigarette smoke despite it being a non-smoking facility; the smell goes throughout the hallways and rooms and gets refreshed by ongoing smoking. 3) The sickeningly dirty area rug at the front desk and hallway carpets, foreshadowing the experience I would have. The first room I was assigned had a bag of garbage in it and a stripped bed. The front desk attendant did find me another room after telling me there were none. The new room was passable for a night. The hotel was loud (both because of the guests and the noise transmission from slamming doors and conversations in the hallway). A drunk man was wandering and seemed to appear everywhere I went. The cable in my room did not work, and the attendant forgot to give me the wifi info. I would not stay here again even at $50/night!
