My stay at Baymont by Wyndham Miami Doral can only be described as one of the worst hotel experiences I've ever had. While the front desk agent during the check-in process was very cordial, the nightmare began as soon as I entered my assigned room, 109.
Upon opening the door, I was hit with an overpowering smell of humidity that made it nearly impossible to breathe. As if that wasn't bad enough, when I went to close the shades, water started dripping out from them.
I immediately returned to the front desk to request a room change, only to be informed that the only other available room was even worse than the first. It was situated next to the housekeeping laundromat, adding to the discomfort.
Frustrated and disappointed, I decided to contact Expedia to rebook my stay at a different hotel. However, after 45 minutes of attempting to reach the hotel through Expedia with no success, I asked the front desk agent to check me out. Unfortunately, he was unable to do so or provide me with a reference number for my records.
Seeking resolution, I wrote an email to the general manager of the hotel but received no response. When I returned the next day to confirm the check-out process, the GM declined to speak with me, and the front desk agents informed me that they had not received any request from Expedia to cancel the reservation or authorize a refund.
