I didn’t like in particular two things: - the staff at the reception has been no much clear at the check in about the features of the room; during my journey one man of staff, his name is Steven, has been very rude; - the features of the room haven’t been suiteble for 4 persons; the beds small; the w.c. small; no suiteble wardrobe; no suiteble drawers. Posizione ottima, comodissima alla metro e a pochi minuti a piedi da Times Square. Nei dintorni negozi e ristoranti. Hotel non recentissimo ma pulito. Solo due pecche non da poco però: - ci è stata affidata una camera che affacciava sui motori dei condizionatori, impossibile dormire dal rumore - al momento del check in avendo necessità di pagare con due carte di credito, l'addetto ha fatto caos e mi ha bloccato l'intero plafond a garanzia di entrambi le carte per cui mi sono ritrovata a NY senza carta di credito e senza la possibilità di pagare altro .... assurdo! Ho fatto presente il problema alla reception che però non lo ha saputo sistemare. Questo problema mi ha decisamente lasciato l'amaro in bocca. Attenzione al pagamento!!! rischiate di ritrovarvi senza fondi per tutta la vacanza! Non vi dico il disagio e le difficoltà!

Personale molto gentile e preparato.Pasquale alla reception sempre attento alle esigenze dei clienti e una garanzia per noi italiani. Hotel molto bello, anche se necessaria qualche piccola manutanzione ordinaria nelle stanze. Zona molto ricca di servizi. Camere NON isolate acusticamente, si sentono molto i rumori dell'esterno, ma immagino che a NY sia un aspetto ubiquitario. Ci ritorneremo con piacere

Perfect location as we were in the NYC for the NY RR women’s half marathon at Central Park. Walkable to so many restaurants and shopping. Staff were helpful and friendly.

The location was great- near transportation and restaurants, and our room was very nice/ clean. We enjoyed sunny afternoons at the rooftop restaurant, which had outdoor seating and happy hour from 2:00- 6:00. Mostly, we were very grateful for Pasquale, who helped us with our reservation when our flights were delayed and our stay was extended. Because of his exceptional service, our stay was perfect.

The hotel was very beautiful and had a nice atmosphere to it. Most attractions and restaurants were well within walking distance.

The Shower and Bathroom was truly dysfunctional and it was extremely difficult to get anything to work properly. A Staff Member walked into my room in the early morning with a key even with a do not disturb sign on the door

Stayed at the Empire Hotel for one night because of the location and great rate. The lobby was nice and the staff was friendly, but the room was not great. Our room was at the end of a very dark hallway, so dark that you could barely see the key slot on the door. The room itself was fine and somewhat spacious by city standards, but the blinds wouldn’t open on either of the two windows, so we couldn’t get any light in the room. Also, the AC did not work well. It turned on but it was not very effective and the room was warm. However, everything was clean and the bed was pretty comfortable. They also gave out complimentary bottled water at the front desk and the location was great. Overall, for one night it was fine, but if we had been staying longer I would’ve asked to switch rooms.

This property is in a great location and seems to be relatively affordable BUT... My wife and I stayed with them for a Saturday and Sunday night over this past weekend. The weather was cool on Saturday, but we noticed our room was pretty warm that night. After realizing the next morning that our AC unit was out of order, we notified the front desk. They sent a technician up to work on it at some point that day while we were out. We were told it was fixed and good to go. That night when we returned it was still broken. I notified the front desk of the issue again and was told they were going through a 'shift change' but would send someone up ASAP. A technician arrived at our room to check on the unit a little after 11:00 PM. After working on it for about half an hour, he determined that it was out of order and there was nothing they'd be able to do to fix it that evening. The hotel was unable to move us to another room and the room we stayed in that night reached over 80 degrees. I readdressed this with the front desk the next morning. I was surprised by two things: 1) Between the technician who had worked on our room and the different staff members who I had discussed the issue with the day before- there was absolutely no documentation that we had been having this issue. It was like they were hearing it for the first time. 2) The staff absolutely did not care that we had this problem. I would absolutely avoid staying here.

Our hallway in front of room was so dark we couldn’t even unlock the door without shining a light to help insert keycard. They had hallway lights in the hallway but of course our room was a corner room with no light. Also rooms were spacious but very warm. It was a beautiful day out and it felt better outside than inside if that tells you how warm that room was. I like the theme for the hotel but bathrooms were so dark due to lighting that it made it hard to get ready.

Amazing stay, the location was perfect! The room was great. The only issue was the water pressure in the shower and the sink in the bathroom. They both were very little to none. The shower grout was cracked and busted, the ceiling looked like there was past water damage and a quick fix was done. Other than that it was fine

Very good value and super convenient to culture, transportation. My one "complaint" is the window covering could not be raised without a jury-rigged arrangement using thread - the chain which should raise it was not connected. Staff were very friendly and helpful. Bonus is the gelato shop next door open for late night treats.

Give one star for hotel location, other than that nothing good about this hotel. Booked a two bed junior suite for one night, got rm 1112, it’s so noisy, an air conditioning machine outside the window running non stop, make sleeping impossible. Went to front desk for help, was told nothing they can do, and with a non apologetic attitude. Hallway decor is weird like a horror movie scene, room is dark, bathroom is super tiny not clean. Stayed quite a few hotels in the area, JW Marriott, Sheraton, etc, this hotel is the worst, bad service with high price

The outlets electrical outlets didn’t work in our bathroom and half of the room. Our AC quit working on our last day and night. After maintenance trying to fix it twice, at 2:00 a.m the front desk finally gave us another room but told us we had to be out by 9:00 a.m. and when we got into that room the a.c. Did not work either. We were planning to reserve a block of rooms here next summer for a wedding, but will now look elsewhere. We asked to have our last night comped but the hotel said they could not because we booked through Expedia. Very disappointing.

The lobby and the rooftop bar gives the impression of better facilities. Best used as a place to sleep. My main issue was the bathroom. The shower head was not secured to the ceiling. The paint around it was pealing away. They had cracked tiles, missing grout, and the shower curtain was not tall enough to prevent water from escaping. The door was also difficult to shut. So we had to fiddle with it to make it close properly. Very centrally located to subway. The people were nice. 8/10 would stay again.

Hotel Empire is centrally located in Manhattan. It’s in the heart of downtown and close to fine dining options and shops. It’s close to Julliard and the various shops. The hotel itself needs to be upgraded and improved. The staff however is super friendly and accommodating. The facilities could use a refresh especially bathrooms. Thank you to the wonderful staff who made me feel welcome and accommodated every request.

It's all about location, location, location. If you're in the city for opera, Symphony, or ballet, even plays, they're all across the street. No Uber, no taxi needed. Also walkable to great restaurants and shopping in Time Warner Center and Central Park.

Safe was broken in my room. Staff had bad attitude regarding fixing it. Finally finished around midnight. Problem was desk and rude security guard, not other staff. I had to call house keeping too to clean up the mess left from placing a new safe. Truly poor whining weekend desk service.

I had to leave the hotel and check in someplace else because my heat was broken and they refused to refund me. The property photographs reasonably well but is kind of a dump. It’s shabby and ill kept. My room faced an interior shaft and noise is unbearable. Location is good. Do not recommend.

Good hotel for the price we paid. Staff was excellent! Our room was great in that it had two doubles and a pool out couch so that it could accommodate my wife and three kids and me. But the shower had no pressure, shelf in the shower for the soup and shampoo was falling off and there was no coffee in the rooms or hotel. They also had no kitchen in the hotel so you couldn't get food. Otherwise, I really enjoyed my stay. Great area in NYC! So convenient.

Hotel was very dusty. Loud, construction, police sirens, washrooms in the room weren’t really up to my standards. They shouldn’t be charging that much for an uograded motel 6 type hotel

This Hotel is a Motel. The rooms are extremely outdated and there’s stains on curtains and carpets. The bathroom was appalling, cracks everywhere and was so outdated.
