Unique because its on the beach and from the room we had it was very enjoyable watching the shipping in and out of the Tyne. Breakfast service was a bit chaotic generally. Not acceptable to run out of pastries and croissants half way through breakfast service on two mornings. Decaf coffee only available in powder form is not good enough in this day and age. Watered down squash in tumblers, served to Wedding guests, as the alternative to alcohol, is far from acceptable.

front of house staff were so very friendly nothing was too much for them restarant staff were very good food was hot and enjoyable

It was a good location with good food and excellent customer service, both friendly and efficient. The rooms were a good size too.

Stayed for Sam Fender gig with my daughter and we loved this place. The hotel, breakfast, rooms, restaurant, bar area were spot on. The location was beautiful. Couldn’t fault it at all

Pros - It’s so close to a beautiful beach and piers and a beautiful parks are within walking distance Cons - the food was not good, tasteless, overcooked and very limited options for breakfast. The dishes were stained, cutlery not clean - we didn’t want to eat there after the first meal

Enjoyable stay
Enjoyed the hotel. Great position. Food excellent. Dining area too warm due to greenhouse type roof on sunny day. Staff friendly. Room needs some tlc. Good value though.

We have stayed at The Little Haven Hotel on numerous occasions, not once have we been disappointed. From Reception to the Staff around the hotel all personnel are really friendly and polite, they can’t do enough for you. Well done, we shall be staying again soon. The location is the USP of this hotel but it is very dated and lacks attention to detail particularly in the staffing area. The Manager is not present nor obvious to customers. Staff need to trained not to spend time hanging over reception chatting when customers need attention, and when they do that they should not be greeted with a response that makes them feel like an interference to the conversation. They also need to be made clear that shouting at each other in and outside the restaurant is totally unacceptable. Some Individual staff are very good but a well managed customer Service team are constantly attentive rather than making Customers feel processed. Whilst the hotel is clean it’s very dated and some of the Ocean Road BnB’s surprisingly have a higher quality of accommodation and staff as well as amenities. Overall It’s just lack lustre.

We have been staying at The Little Haven for over 20 years and love our trips down south. This year however the food was quite disappointing' We stayed Friday and Saturday and the menu - 'Steak Night'- was the same both nights. Soggy chips and poor steaks. Shame.

Lovrely hotel right on the coast of south Shields. Great breakfast with good choice. I love poached eggs so was able to get this as a choice. Very comfortable king size bed.

F A B U L O U S value for money.
Great location. Great value for money. Great breakfast. Great staff. The only negative - we stayed 2 nights and both nights our room keys wouldn't work so both nights we spent 20 minutes going up and down to reception to access the room. William was brilliant.

Property was excellent we had the Collingwood suite views were superb from the two balconies, the suite itself was huge and very clean ,staff all friendly ,restaurant was busy but sevice very quick food was great .A big thanks to all the staff
