Bonjour, Mr et Mme sont fachés après nous car il voulaient séparer un groupe de personne (4) pour qu'ils puissent monter avec à l'aéroport. Et comme les clients ne voulaient pas ils s'en ai pris à nous. Ils ne voulaient pas monter dans le VAN de la pension car ils considéraient les clients à l'intérieur (encore 4 autres personnes) comme des alcooliques. Du coup Mr voulait casser la portière du véhicule. Merci Madame, cela ne vous portera pas chance.

Pension très agréable et le personnel est très sympathique et bienveillant. C'est très calme et la vue sur la baie est magnifique. Excellent rapport qualité/prix. J'y retournerais.

Great views, great value!!
The people at the pension were very kind. Great location and views. Simple, but clean and the Wifi worked well. There was a nice breakfast each morning from the patio with a lovely view of the bay. It is just 2 "blocks" up the hill from the main road where you can walk to the few sites, restaurants/roulottes, and stores in the town. The very farthest side of the bay is about 20 mins walking. Make sure you ask about excursions ahead of time as they leave early, otherwise you would need a car to see anything on the island. They can arrange a paid transport to the airport for you which is an hour away on the other, uninhabited, side of the island (the drive alone might be worth the trip to Nuku Hiva, it is gorgeous). I would stay here again, great value!!

The staff at this Pension make the stay very enjoyable. the rooms are basic but have all the amenities you need for your stay in the Marquesas Islands. The location is perfect, within walking distance to the center of town, yet up a small hill so it's quiet. The view is spectacular. The host Jean Claude wonderful.

The perfect base camp!
Friendly family owned guesthouse. Very nice breakfast included at a long table with the other guests. Fantastic view! Perfect base camp for exploring Nuku Hiva. Simple but adequate rooms with air condition at night. Basic common kitchen with gas stove and fridge. Thank you Jean Claude and Madison! Also very close to the tourist office where the lovely Colette helps you with anything!

Très bonne adresse à Nuku Hiva
Pension agréable avec une famille disponible et serviable La vue des chambres est sublime. Le lit est grand et confortable mais les autres équipements sont anciens avec quelques insuffisances ( une seule chaise, pas d’eau chaude le matin ...) Le petit-déjeuner est excellent et la gentillesse des hôtes compense les quelques points à améliorer

Terrible stay
My experience: 1) I arrive from 5 hours fly and went to the pension for two nights. When I arrive they said me that is already booked. They gave me money (less than one night that I pay 2 months ago) and send me to another pension. They make me lost one day with this trouble. 2) The second day, they let me in TATA MAVE MAI to pass my night there. The night was ok but I dont like that one guy of the staff that was totaly drunk and make me feel unfortable. But the problem were in the morning that I had to go to airport and they said me that I have to paid the transfer when they never said me nothing about that.. so I said: ok goodby, and found another taxi. 3) The people are always with bad face, they dont care the client and were not profesional. Horrible atencion. The owner talk with me by phone totally unpolite with revenge words, they are evils persons. 4) Breakfast its not enought. A bit of fruit and bread.

You really pity me. You should thank my son who took you a little further down to take you to the airport at 1H15 free. You get out of the car without saying thank you, lest he asks you to pay. And you forget to say that because for you it's normal? Total of what you have under shot 5000FCP + 8000FCP it is not expensive to pay for your dislodgement for a night in another pension? Yes, I had you on the phone, because I was the owner of the pension was on a business trip to Papeete during your stay and you took advantage of it to abuse the kindness of my children who held the pension during my absence to nothing paid. It's a shame.

Very expensive camping...
„Family room“ too small, so just 4 beds and no furniture, no real window. For us only cold shower. No air condition and no WiFi during the day. Breakfast is good, but grumpy, unfriendly women. One „Taxi“ to airport shared by 2 family’s = 10 people - they are only out for money and they know, You have no choice. Other guests were shocked too. Sorry, but we can NOT recommend it.

The 8 rooms of the pension have no window. Too small for 4 beds required by guests is normal. Everything is complete in their room air conditioning, hot water fan.All Polynesia suffers for some time of connection problem. Our 2 cars have 4 seats allowed per car, it's not very nice. The employee told you not to use the goods in the kitchen of the pension. You pity me for these comments. Thanks anyway.

Hotel i pokoje czyste. Położony na wzgórzu nad miasteczkiem. Bardzo blisko do wszystkich sklepów i do wybrzeża oraz małej mariny. Właściciele i pracownicy bardzo mili. Zainteresowani klientami i ich problemami. Śniadania wprawdzie tylko kontynentalne ale bardzo zróżnicowane i obfite. Świeże, dobre pieczywo i dżemy. Dużo różnych lokalnych owoców. Kawa, herbata. Nie ma ograniczeń ilościowych. Pokoje z łazienkami skromne ale bardzo czyste i w dobrym stanie. Wszystkie z widokiem na morze. Dodatkowo płatny transfer z lotniska 4000 XFP w jedną stronę od osoby ale to cena stosowana przez wszystkie obiekty na wyspie. WiFi działa dobrze ale tylko przy recepcji. Właściciele mówią dobrze po angielsku.

The guesthouse is located just above the small pier where the artisan center and the tourist info are. We would recommend booking your activities either with the help of Regina and Jean-Claude the owners or through the tourist info. The room was spacious and clean, as was the bathroom. The porch had two lounge chairs overlooking the bay which was very nice. The room isn't fancy, it is simple and nice. The breakfasts are very nice - with lots of fresh fruit and a different selection of pastries each morning and wonderful lemonade. We loved the hospitality and how much they care about their guests. Your safety and happiness are very important to them - they are great hosts!

Bon rapport qualité/prix
Jean-Claude est très disponible, sa fille Madison se charge de réserver les excursions et locations de voiture (sans supplément). La pension est proche des commodités avec une belle vue sur la mer. Bon rapport qualité prix. Lors du transfert Jean Claude nous fait une visite guidée pendant le trajet de l'aéroport à la pension, ce qui est bien appréciable car le trajet est long.

Chambre trop simple avec petite fenêtre donnant sur les frigos et la machines à laver Dans une pièce ouverte... Heureusement la vue en sortant de la chambre rattrapait le manque de confort. La remarque de ne pas allumer la clim avant 18:00 alors qu’on était crevé du vol et qu’on souhaitait faire une petite sieste dans la chambre était légèrement déplacée sachant qu’il ny avait pas de ventilateur dans notre chambre et qu’il faisait très chaud. Mais Bon petit déjeuner. Navette aéroport pension 64€ par personne... heureusement on a été très bien accompagnés par Mate pour l’excursion en 4x4 autour de l’île

Merci pour vos commentaires. L'employée a été informée de ses informations incomplètes car seule la chambre où vous étiez et celle de droite ont la climatisation 24H/24H. Les 6 autres chambres fonctionnement comme vous l'avez indiquée à partir de 18H. Toutes les navettes sont à 64 euros par personne en aller/retour avec arrêts photos et aperçut du village soit 1H30 de route.

Un peu déçue
En effet déclassé à notre arrivée dans un autre hôtel sans nous avertir avant et surtout nous demander notre avis. Demande de payer des frais de transports alors que nous sommes partis 3h avant car cela arrangé le chauffeur car il devait récupérer d autres gens qui arrivaient sur l île. Expedia nous compte 66 euros de frais supplémentaires on ne sais pourquoi. ???? Dommage pas de demi pension.

Diner et omelette le matin au frais de la pension = 4500XPF et transferts aller/retour aéroport avec 4000XPF de réduction. Total 8500XPF (geste commercial de la pension) pour compenser le déclassement d'une nuitée dans un autre hôtel à 8160FCP la nuitée. Nous apprécions vraiment vos commentaires.

A simple good motel
Stay 4 days 3 night . Really simple motel but in good location and good view . Really good helpful host . The hot water is sufficient , water pressure is good . Room and hotel is clean . Simple breakfast .

Wonderful hosts in Nuku Hiva
Nuku Hiva is a remote island in the pacific and is a truly wonderful place to explore. The island features some fantastic ancient houses, temples, and statues that are quite accessible by rental car or via a daytrip. There's also good hiking and fishing though the heat stopped us from walking very much. The pension, Mave Mai, is right in the center of the village and it's a short walk to three small restaurants nearby, which was more than sufficient choice for our 5-day stay. The breakfast at the pension was great and features local fruits, bread, coffee, and always something else that is freshly made. When we stayed all other guests were French though the owner speaks more than enough English to get by. As we stayed for the new year, and all restaurants closed, the pension threw a fantastic feast of local cuisine for us. Fortunately we arranged for the pension to pick us up as we did not see any taxis outside of the airport. It's a 90 minute drive to the pension but unlike most taxi rides, this feels more like a tour of the island than anything else.
