Shin Pond Stay
Convenient location close to shin pond village. Small building probably best suited for small parties. Worked out well for me and my hunting dog, I'd stay there again.

Lovely location on Upper Shin Pond. Beautiful place to kayak. We enjoyed the fire pit and especially the enclosed front porch. Host was very responsive to a leaky kitchen sink issue. Property could use a thorough cleaning inside and out. Otherwise would have given 5 stars

Shin pond
We enjoyed our stay. Swimming,boating,kayaking! The swim float was a plus. The fishing was great as well. We were a large group and made out just fine! Andrew was extremely quick on answering any questions. Thanks for a great stay!

Weekend stay
We stayed for the weekend, it was a great getaway! The cabin was clean & everything was provided as promised! The only issue was finding in the paddles/life jackets for the kayak’s because the shed was falling down, not a big deal though! Perfect get away with great views.

Very remote and quiet
Great place to stay! We were visiting the area for the 2022 Maine Moose Hunt. Beautiful part of Maine. The camp was exactly as advertised and delivered all of our needs. Best part about the camp, no cell service! And we found a bull moose!

Trip Away
Property was at a great location. Understand that it’s a cabin, but could have definitely been a bit cleaner. We had a fantastic trip to Maine, but didn’t look forward to coming back to the cabin which is unfortunate because it’s a great space and location… just needs a deep clean and some comfortable seating.

Good stay on beautiful lot
Even though itv was smaller than we usually get, We had a great stay and enjoyed this little cabin on a beautiful lot. There was enough beds including a cot for us all. There wasn't a good place for young kids to swim but they enjoyed the paddle boats and canoe. Sitting and fishing on the dock was enjoyed by all. The fire pit spot was perfect and the lot was perfect for our dogs. There wasn't any cell service but once we got the right wifi password, we were able to use wifi and wifi calling. Thank you Andy for accommodating our family, even with the last minute add ons.

Peaceful, beautiful area
Nice place. There were plenty of kitchen nessessities, towels and bedding. There were boats and games, outdoor space, seating, a place for a fire. Not really good for swimming, but we didn’t care. No cell service unless you drive towards Patten, but that’s not something to base a review on, just to be aware of. The shower was a great surprise, very hot and plenty of water pressure, which isn’t always the case even in nice hotels. The washer and dryer worked great also. The upstairs was nice, lots of beds, my only suggestion would be a hand rail at the top of the ladder, a simple fix that would make it much easier to get up and downstairs . And the sofa needs to go to the dump. It’s way past cleaning. Otherwise, a great camp with a lovely porch and plenty of privacy.

Beautiful views.
Camp is a great little get away. Path to dock a little challenging but expected in this area of Maine. Campfire area is large and had plenty of wood and chairs. Covered porch came in handy on rainy days. Would recommend to others.

30th birthday getaway
This property was amazing. It was the perfect spot to relax and enjoy my family. The cabin was clean, fully stocked kitchen, had plenty of things to enjoy the water. Definitely will be booking again in a few years

Cabin in the woods
Andrew is a a great very nice and receptive host. The cabin itself is very cute just along the lake. This place would have been a 5 out of 5 starts for me if it were just cleaned better and the property were left more organized. The lake area is beautiful but the dock and kayaks were just kind of thrown around instead of stacked nicely so you could still walk by the water. It was a little tricky maneuvering around the stored stuff to walk by the water. I was also hoping to have a little fire outside but the chairs were broken. I was just visiting with a girlfriend of mine for a family wedding so maybe I'm just being a bit of a picky. I just wouldn't have expected to have to pick up to go and relax in the wilderness. On the other hand, the bed was very comfortable, the kitchen had plenty of supplies and bathroom roomy along with a great portch! The cabin is in a great location to everything.

Clean and Comfortable
This cabin is clean, comfortable and well-supplied. The owner was very responsive when contacted with questions. The location is beautiful and very peaceful. We had our choice of boats, and enjoyed a couple outings in the 2-person kayak, and also relaxing around the fire pit in the evening.

Challenging Vacation Days
The host was responsive and flexible. The cabin offered unexpected challenges from arrival until early departure. Upon arrival, we encountered two bags next to the stairway filled with recycled cans and cigarette butts. We also learned the place had not been cleaned inside. The furniture covers and cushions showed stains. There were no garbage bags in the bin. The dock was underwater, missing planks and unavailable to walk on. The place has potential with some LTC. We cut our vacation short for the above reasons.

Great stay
Stayed with two family’s of four and had a great time! The kids loved Swimming in the pond every day. The kayaks, canoe and paddle board were a lot of fun. The shine pond village store is a great place right down the road. I will undoubtably try to return for another vacation at this lovely property.

Not what I expected
The camp is cute, not as clean as it should be as a rental property. We had to remove the couch cover and clean it because there was so much dirt and even a dog bone in the crease. The shoreline is extremely rocky! The dock felt unstable, it swayed a lot. I fell multiple times getting in and out of my kayak. The area was quiet and what people we did see were very friendly. We left 2 days early.

We had a great stay at the cabin. Cabin was cleaned and everything was orderly. Owner was quick to respond to my questions. I highly recommended this cabin. It's a great getaway home away from home. Lots of water activities to do with kayakis ,canoe and boggy bord.

Bugs
The cabin was nice. The location on the pond and near Baxter State Park was good. Internet and TV connection was down. And the bugs (mosquitos and gnats) were so bad we could not enjoy the outdoors. They swarmed around you constantly even when in a kayak on the pond. DEET kept most from biting but the still swarmed around - clouds of 50+. With nothing to do inside or outside we ended up leaving on day 2 of our 4 day stay.

A hidden gem!
Easy access to Baxter State Park is one of the key reasons to choose Andy’s cabin. Being lake front gives really wonderful view in the morning (in particular when there is fog). You can hear loons call too. Saw a moose by the pond in one evening. Really nice and relax getaway from the city!

We enjoyed our stay.
The property was lovely - great view and water access. The house is great too - heat works well, comfy couch and rocking love seat, large porch with a table and lovely decor. My only complaint was that the place could have been a bit cleaner. Upon arrival I had to wipe the rim of the toilet, which had clearly not been cleaned, and the shelves of the fridge were not exactly clean either. The location is pretty good. Excellent supermarket not too far, a great pizza/sandwich place near that and a reasonably short ride to the North entrance of Baxter Park.

Honeymoon
My husband and I stayed at Andy’s property for our honeymoon. Although our plans changed from going to Paris and Ireland, Andy’s cabin was just what we needed! It was quiet and in the perfect most relaxing location. The view was amazing. We had a wonderful time!

Beautiful getaway
Andy’s place on Shin Pond is like something out of an ll bean catalog. The scenery was amazing and the area so quiet and tranquil. It was the perfect getaway. Nearby Mount Chase was a fun climb, with breathtaking views at the summit. The cabin was perfect for our group of 5, with beds to spare. Accuracy of listing was a 4 only because the dryer was broken and we had packed with a working washer/dryer in mind, but I understand it is being replaced. Would definitely recommend this place to anyone looking for a beautiful, quiet place with lots of outdoor activities!
