Cute, Clean, and Roomy
We had a pleasant stay. The house was really clean and had everything we needed. The interior has the charm of decades past butt is in great condition and very comfortable. This was the easiest check out process of any place we have stayed!

Just like home in Rockland Michigan
My husband and I were attending the Michigan Cares for Tourism volunteer event in the Porcupine Mountains. We came a day early and stayed a day later. When I walking into this adorable, quaint house, I felt like I stepped back into my childhood. It immediately felt like home. We absolutely loved the nostalgia and all of the woodwork!!! I seriously did not want to leave. This home had everything you need and more. I loved everything right down to the vintage dishes! We loved everything about this home. The house was absolutely squeaky clean!! Tina was wonderful! She was there when ever we needed anything. She was so very helpful in every aspect of our stay and she is so fun to talk to. Tina is a wealth of information, and we loved the store!!! This was my husbands and I's 25th anniversary get away. We have never been to this area but I can tell you, we will be back. The home is centrally located on the east side of the UP and there is so much to do all around. We didn't realize that two major waterfalls are within a half hour of the house. Agate and Bond waterfalls are a must see, absolutely breath taking and so very accessible for up close views and great hiking. Porcupine Mountains State Park is about 40 minutes away and WOW there is so much to see and do there, including Lake of the Clouds. An absolute must see! Thank you for sharing your home and everything beautiful inside. I took many amazing inside photos and I am happy to share if your interested.

Grandma Nina's is the perfect choice!
We truly felt at home. Everything was very comfortable. Tina, the manager and Pat, the owner were so kind and helpful. Always there to answer any question. We have been staying in the area for our summer vacation for almost 16 years. This is our first time to rent a home and Grandma Nina's was the perfect choice!

Lovely location for exploring the UP. The house was amazing! Beautiful Craftsman style architecture. 15 minute drive to Lake Superior beach.

Cozy!
This place was perfect for what my family needed. We stayed for 7 nights. Has everything you will need. The location is just a short drive to a lot of attractions, as well. Tina, that owns the Rockland Depot right next to the house was amazing. She made sure if we did need anything, she would get it. We would definitely rent this house again!!!

Super Tidy and clean
Fantastic place to stay. Up for a fishing trip with family and friends. Could not have been more comfortable. House was immaculate and the neighborhood was quiet. Couldn't ask for more than that. EZ 5 Star rating. Hope to be back again.

Amazing
This place just keeps on giving there is so much history here it’s amazing to see a place that is kept up as this one is. The town is quiet and relaxing. Everything is a short drive away. I will continue to stay here when I go snowmobiling and when I come up in the summer.

Great location
We went to get away, be in nature and be a family. The house was perfect for it. Being winter still we were able to find place for snow shoeing close by. Having Tine next door with her store was very nice and convenient. Would definitely go back!

Second Time Here
We stayed here last year (snowmobiling) and we loved it, so we came back this this year and it was awesome. Great house, super clean, great host. Could not ask for a better place.

Great time, great place

Absolutely lovely!
My sisters and I fell in love with the house the minuet we walked in the door! The place was spotless! We checked in with Tina the next morning, she made us feel welcomed! Loved the town, loved exploring the surrounding area, thanks to suggestions from Tina! Would highly recommend this place!

Quaint historic property with all original woodwork and wood floors.
Loved all the nostalgic stuff in the house!! Two porches. Good size bath with nice very large walk in shower. Super clean!! Laundry on site was an added bonus. Not gonna lie, it was hard for my hubby and I to sleep in a full size bed. Lol. We would definitely stay there again! The property manager Tina is a gem. She was so helpful. Great location for the porcupine mountains, the keewenaw and lake superior.

So Clean!
This house was spotless! It was also stocked with anything you needed. It is a very well taken care of, 50's retro home. Everything was in such nice shape and very homey feeling. Its like you walk back into the 50's in a really neat way. We loved it! We'll definitely be back again!

Great place and great host
We have been riding snowmobiles in the Rockland area for 20+ years and it was really nice staying here. We parked our sleds in the garage each night and walked right in the house. Tina was great to work with, great communication and super nice. We will be back.

Homey place to come back to after a long day of hiking!
Stayed at Grandma Nina's with a friend for 3 nights - home base for hiking in the Porkies. It was comfy and had everything we could possibly need! Loved staying in a house so we could fix our own breakfasts, coffee in the morning, lunches to take along, etc. Very clean - beds were comfy - definitely felt like I was staying at my grandma's - cute, kitschy home decor and all!

Perfect vacation house
The house maintains very well and sits in quiet neighborhood. I house is cozy. I love it’s decoration. Each room is clean and in good condition. The pantry is just like a icing in cake. The house is just 30 minutes drive from the porkies. Pat is an excellent communicator and addressed our questions. The house manager Tina is super whose hospitality makes us feel welcomed. She is so patient and kind. Strongly recommended!

It was like using someone's home when they were just away for the weekend. Everything was there I thought the home was in Ontonogon. Rockland was nice but not as near the Porkies as I expected

SUPER cute house! We had the best time! Highly recommend!
Grandma Nina’s house was immaculately clean, bursting at the seams with character, and felt like home the instant we walked through the door. It has everything you’ll need - Full kitchen with all the dishes, utensils, and cookware, stocked linen closet with towels and extra bedding, games and puzzles, etc. Just bring food, friends, and your sleds. And if you forgot anything, the Rockland Depot General Store next door will surely have it. The communication from the property manager was exceptional and the check in/out process with Tina was so easy. She is lovely, and a trip to see her at the general store and to get some ice cream is a must! I can’t say enough about how wonderful our stay was! We will be back next year! HIGHLY RECOMMEND!

Cozy Home in Rockland
Grandma Nina's House was a great base for our weekend of snowmobiling in the UP. The house was clean, comfortable, and spacious. Parking was not an issue for our truck, trailer, and sleds. We would not hesitate to stay in this home again for future trips to Michigan.

Feels like visiting a favorite Aunt
The house was roomy and was well stocked with items for our stay (towels, bedding, kitchen items) and very clean and comfortable. Tina worked with us on our late check in and early morning check out. We never had the opportunity to visit the Rockland Depot because we left early each morning and returned after dark each day. We had a great time on the trails and in the woods!

My husband and I wanted a Covid safe vacation, where we could get away, but not stay in a hotel. We loved the charm of this house. It felt like going back in time to “Grandma’s House”. We loved the two porches, beautiful woodwork and great layout of the house. We had everything we needed to make meals at home and relax. The proximity to the Porcupine Mountains was great and there were nice local drives, too. We recommend this house for a quiet and peaceful get away.

From the moment we stepped in it felt like home. Clean, great nostalgic welcoming into memories. Great location for day road trips/hikes/falls and back roads.
