Great location and host
Host was amazing and helpful The location allows you to walk to Vatican and to collesuem, shopping, Spanish steps, Trevi, etc The longest walk was to the coloseum which was a roughly 20 minute walk (There are taxis, public transport options as well) The place itself has great space and ideal for a family The only negative is the AC isn’t phenomenal by usa standards but even in very hot August it would cool off enough at night Still 5 stars and nice and quiet at night

It was a frustrating process as I booked with the advertised agent only to deal with two others in the chain before I spoke to the owner. My deposit was snapped up somewhere along the line without even a receipt! A few shortcomings with the unit, there were no cleaning clothes, any there now are what we bought, a degree in locksmithing would help getting in. The bedrooms have no natural light & limited other lighting, likewise for the rest of the unit. Lacking cooking utensils. Power cuts out if several appliances are on at the same time. Quant - but consider looking elsewhere.

Not the place to stay during warm temperatures
The apartment is very large, but not in the greatest condition. Their is one small air conditioning unit for the whole apartment and it’s a good distance from the bedrooms. We happened to be there during a heat wave and it simply could not keep up with the temperatures outside. It didn’t help that the air conditioning unit was inside and put off more heat than the unit gave out cool air. (Conversely, our apartment in Florence had 4 units and kept everyone cool.) The larger bathroom needs some repair and the bathtub/shower is quite dangerous stepping in and out of it with wet feet. The property owner is very nice and accommodating. The location is good but after visiting there, I wish we had stayed closer to Trastevere or Testaccio.

Lovely apartment in an awesome location. This feels off the beaten path and yet is a hop-skip-and-jump from a multitude of restaurants, grocery, shops, and an easy walk from all the major sights. Quiet at night and the internet is fast (my husband worked remotely for several days of our stay and used Microsoft teams for hours a day). FYI, the VRBO listing of the price was incorrect. The price ended up being much higher (by about 60%) than we were anticipating. In fairness, the email confirmation that was sent after we booked had the correct price in it (which we did not read but simply filed away), but was not reflective of what the price was when we clicked “book”. The owner was very gracious letting us store our suitcases in their downstairs apartment. I could imagine his grandmother floating around that apartment in the 1920s. As a historic home enthusiast, that piece was awesome, too.

Dear Angela, Thank you for your review. I'm glad that you enjoyed your stay in the apartment and you felt well with the owner of it. Regarding your clarification regarding the payment, I thought we had already clarified by e-mail. You also called VRBO and they had cleared up where the misunderstanding was. You initially booked the apartment for 4 nights, then you changed your reservation to 5 and VRBO has not updated the rate but has simply divided the amount of the 4 nights over the 5, this is because the payment is handled directly by us. Roman Adventure
What an adventure. Our host, Luca, welcome us to his family’s apartment with smiles! The apartment’s history permeated throughout and put us in the mood to explore, learn and enjoy! Situated near the river, we were in walking distance to many attractions and to the restaurants recommended to us by our host. Beautiful and educational time😎

Great location - big apartment
The apartment was huge and well locatedZ the host was helpful and kind. My only (minor) complaint is that the bedrooms do not have windows so they can get hot despite fans. Still I would stay again if I find myself in Rome again :)

Excellente localisation
Tres beau sejour a Rome. L’appartement est tres grand ce qui est parfait pour un voyage en famille. Les lits et la literie sont tres confortables. L’appartement est propre mais mériterait d être repeint. Ceci étant dit, cet endroit est tres confortable. Sa localisation est vraiment parfaite. Le propriétaire est tres accueillant et nous a donne pleins de conseils. En famille, j’y retournerais sans hésiter

Un peu loin du centre , magasins alimentation à 10 minutes. Propreté douteuse, lits confortables, cuisine absolument rien pas huile olive, vinaigre, peu de serviettes de cuisine, il a fallu tout acheter pour 3 jours. À bien d'autres appartements le proprio avait laisser, jus orange , pain , jambon , vin etc…il est parfois difficile en arrivant de pouvoir bien fonctionner. Je ne relouerais plus cet appartement. Bonjour Johanne, Je suis désolé que le séjour chez nous ne vous a pas convenu, mais dire que l’appartement est “un peu loin du centre” serait sans doute trompeur pour quelqu’un qui lit votre revue (alors que il est situé à moins de dix minutes à pieds du Corso, c’est-à-dire la longue rue commerçante en plein centre ville). Au sujet de la cuisine, depuis la Covid-19 on n'est plus autorisé à laisser dans l’appartement aucune nourriture (y compris des ingrédients pour assaisonner) mais il me parait quand même étrange de s’attendre à du jus, du pain, du jambon etc. lorsqu’on nous a même pas demandé d’en acheter avant l’accueil. De toute façon, j’espère un jour pouvoir vous accueillir encore. Au revoir

Roman Apartment Getaway
We loved this property. It has authentic, rustic, charm and a great location which was exactly what I was hoping for.. My husband and I stayed here with our 4 adult children/ goddaughter (ages 19 - 23). There was plenty of space for all 6 of us to sleep and a sitting area, dining area and kitchen. We felt very safe and although near the street, was tucked away inside and was very quiet. We didn't spend much time here though since we were out exploring. Luca, the owner, greeted us late in the evening and was so gracious. The apartment has TV, Wifi, Air Conditioning, plenty of hot water, etc. He gave us pages of instructions for near by markets, transportation, restaurants, etc. He also lived in the building which was helpful to know in case we had any trouble..........which we didn't. We arrived to Rome on my birthday and were starving after the long travel day. Luca recommended that we walk down the street to PizzaRe, and even at that late hour were able to enjoy our first amazing Italian meal! We went there a few times! The communication with the property management company From Home to Rome was great. They helped us to arrange transport to and from the airport which was so helpful. We are home now and I am still basking in the glow of our holiday in Rome. Thank you!!

Excellent location
Comfortable, spacious apartment near so many wonderful sights. Luca was helpful greeting us and orienting us to the apartment. Raffael, the doorkeeper, is a delight and we enjoyed seeing him daily. Sara was very responsive in booking our wonderful airport driver, Luigi. While on the 1st floor(our 2nd in US), there are 8 steps to the elevator; could be an issue for some. We enjoyed our stay and recommend it!!

The owners were incredibly warm and professional, throughout stay. . .The apartment is an intriguing old world apartment, with quirky, interesting items throughout. . .It is a very large, oversized apartment, which easily makes up some of the wear and tear, common to many European apartments. . . Location is outstanding. . .Doorman is excellent, and makes guests feel safe.. . . felt the owners took pride in apartment and cared for their guest's comfort . . .any unexpected needs were met. . .Overall, very comfortable and relaxing stay.

Last Day a Nightmare!
We were packing to leave and power went out completely! In the dark trying to shower (cold) and finish packing was frustrating and dangerous. Turns out it was a scheduled outage but no one told us. No internet so couldn't call. Felt like we didn't get expected service on our last morning before checkout.

Perfection!
This was exactly the apartment we were hoping it would be - historic and with lots of character, and yet fully-equipped with all the conveniences one could wish for. The aircon in particular was a godsend, given the August temperatures! Luca, the owner, was charming and helpful, and happy to explain the history of the place and its connection to his family. The location was excellent - close to a wonderful piazza and several very good restaurants and shops, and one of the best gelaterias in Rome! Also walking distance from the Borghese gardens, villa and art gallery, and close to the Spanish steps and Trevi Fountain (and right next to a bus stop for other attractions like the Forum, Palatine Hill etc.) We had a wonderful stay, and would strongly recommend this place to others.

A Wonderful Place to Stay in Rome
We loved this location and the suite. For our family of 6 it was just great. Our landlord and our door man Raphael were wonderful. The airline lost our luggage and these people were very helpful to us to understand what processes to go through for it's return.

Charm, location and a friendly landlord and doorman!
We really enjoyed our stay at this apartment. It is an excellent location and extremely comfortable. Beds were great. Having 2 bathrooms was also great for us (you do have to walk through a bedroom to access a bathroom, so keep that in mind). One of the two bathrooms is pretty "authentic" but the other is very modern, so for showers, you may want to use the newer of the two :). I would stay here again in a heartbeat as would the rest of our guest. It is a beautiful old building and a charming apartment with plenty of room to live in.

Our yellow home
What a lovely, serene apartment. It is in a major city, yet traffic noise is minimal. The walk to the metro (which makes the whole city accessible) is a short walk away—seven minutes, tops. However, we were often deliciously delayed by the square, the many small shops and eateries leading us into a much needed slow stroll. It sometimes took us an hour—by choice. The doorman is most charming and helpful. He is learning English and has a translator no matter your home language. Note: this is an apartment in a very old mega-city. Expect sewer smells and city smells and sounds in the apartment and everywhere you go. I would stay here again in a heartbeat.

Home away from home.
Great location and beautiful place. The owner was receptive to any problems we had (broken coffee pot, washing machine issue). Our cell phone reception was spotty but wasn't a big deal. The only real complaint was the bed in the second bedroom - very uncomfortable for me. On the whole, a very nice place, good location and good price..

We had a nice stay. The only issue we had was that the air conditioning did not keep the apartment cool. We had very hot weather which may explain that. It is near many great places to eat and the greeter was very nice. She gave us great options of where to go for our stay.

Spacious and great location
We found this place, fortunately, after our previously confirmed apartment was cancelled with less than 2 weeks notice! The place is spacious, owner very nice and informative, location is close to great shopping and restaurants, etc., but also is very quiet (the apartment faces into an internal courtyard, no street noise but also limited in terms of view/sunlight - on positive side, it stayed cool even though it was warm outside). I do recommend they update/repair the master bath, it was a bit musty and toilet seat kept slipping, but it's also spacious compared to many Italian bathrooms, with a nice tub. Overall, we were very happy with the place for our family of 4. Also, there's a doorman who is usually around during the day and was able to call taxis for us when needed.

Wonderful experience and stay!
We spent 4 nights from June 1 through June 5, 2018, and enjoyed it very much! Luca was so kind and informative. We arrived about an hour early and he was happy to greet us. He did not hurry us in and spent a nice amount of time giving us a tour of the apartment, telling us how things worked, giving us a history of the building and offering written information on recommendations for places to see, visit and eat at. We did almost everything on his list, and his recommendations were wonderful! We loved the apartment! It has character and is very comfortable. We would not hesitate to stay again. It was so nice to have a washing machine and we enjoyed drying our clothes on the clothes line. We had our three adult/teenager children with us and we all enjoyed the space and uniqueness this apartment offered. In addition, its incredibly close to so many sights. We walked everywhere. Perfecto! Grazie, Luca, for sharing your advice, help and apartment!

1week in Rome at Rippetta House
The owner met us right on time and gave us the apartment tour, greeting us with a welcome bag of snacks and wine. Evrything was clean and waiting for us to move in. He made sure we had plenty of towels and two door keys. Convenient location a few blocks from the Piazza Popolo and subway. Using the clothesline for drying our clothes was something that was new to us, but it turned out to be sufficient for our needs. The doorman Rafael was extremely helpful, giving directions and calling cabs for us, as well as arranging transportation back to the airport for the four of us. He even let us store our bags in a separate room as our flight did not leave until 7pm. Note, if you have a handicapped traveler, that there is one flight of stairs to get to the elevator. We would stay here again.

Fantastic Apartment - Amazing !!!
We had the best time in Luca's apartment , it was traditional Roman decor which we loved . The location was the best , we walked everywhere. Piazza Del Popolo was so close and Spanish Steps / Via Del Corso etc ... many great restaurants a 2 minute walk . Raffael the doorman was very pleasant too . Luca welcomed us with some lovely Olive oil and wine to enjoy during our stay .. The beds were super comfortable and the wifi was great too .. we would definitely recommend this amazing apartment to anyone and would love to one day return . Amazing time thank you Luca ....

Beautiful, spacious apartment in a great location!
Owners were very welcoming and live onsite.Raphael the doorman was very helpful to us. The building is rich with original architecture and met our needs. Lighting was dim, especially in one of the bathrooms that is not as modernized. This was not an issue for us, but may be for some. Truly enjoyed our stay!

Fantastic Central Rome Flat
Amazing flat for a weekend in Rome. Perfect location! Just down the street from the Spanish Steps, around the corner from a Scottish Pub & delicious cafe, and within walking distance of everything Rome has to offer.
