La camera era priva di riscaldamento, l'acqua calda non funzionava, il management, alla mia insoddisfazione, è sparito spostandomi in una stanza di livello inferiore dicendo che per loro era equivalente.

Dear Paolo,We would like to thank you for taking the time to share with us your experience regarding your stay at Château Hôtel Grand Barrail.We are very sorry to hear that your experience did not live up to the high standards we aim to deliver every day but things are not really as you say they are.There was a problem with the room but, when we proposed you another room, we did give you the same category of room, not a downgrade as you said.We organised some some wine tastings for you during your stay and you did not go to all of them. There were no-show fees from the chateaux and we did not charge you anything at all. We took care of them as a commercial gesture for the room. But you did not mentioned that.We know there was a problem with the room but your comment is not fair at all.We would like to apologize again for all the inconveniences encountered during your stay but we truly hope that you will give us the opportunity to offer you a more satisfying experience and regain your confidence in the future.Yours sincerely,

If I could give 6 stars I would! Room was beautiful and clean, very spacious. Restaurant was excellent. Staff was very helpful and friendly. They are very helpful in planning winery visits or dinner reservations. The spa was a wonderful treat. Grounds were beautiful to walk and many spaces to sit outside with wine.

Very disappointed with service, The waiters at the restaurant were very rude, there were 10 of us and they ignored us for about half an hour, they wanted us to order from a menu that had almost no options and they gave us the menu very reluctantly, we felt mistreated. The food was too pretentious for the service offered and the price. I would not go back.

Un lieu où le sens du goût est mis à l’honneur. De l’hébergement à l’assiette tout n’y est que surprises délectables. Le spa idéalement situé sur les vignes nous rappelle combien ces terres sont riches de nectars dont les yeux du monde se régalent. Merci pour l’accueil irréprochable.

Très bel hôtel, rénovation contemporaine réussie et service impeccable digne d’un 5 étoiles. Le seul point d’amélioration serait de limiter l’accès au spa car lorsqu’il y a trop de monde, cela devient beaucoup moins qualitatif.

Amazing property but the staff need training. Dinner was very good as were the staff at dinner. Staff for all other meals were below average. The hotel booked us a visit to a local vineyard and when we asked for directions they sent us in the opposite direction. Luckily we asked someone and went back. When we complained at reception the receptionist said it’s not our fault it was google!! The vineyard is actually only 100 yards up the road from them and we felt they should have known which way to go !

This is a beautiful chateau with overall very good service. It would have been perfect if not for an event that I don't believe was handled well. The AC for the entire property broke during a heat wave on the first day of our stay rendering the inside of our room 85F/29C in the middle of the night. We weren't notified of this until after we made a complaint - a fan was initially offered then we were told they are out. We tried to open the windows but experienced a bug takeover within minutes so we had to shut them. We were unable to sleep both nights due to this - for $500 a night, the property should have gone out and bought a fan for each room and/or offered a substantial discount/credit. I requested 100 euros be removed from our bill at the end due to the terrible sleeping conditions which was granted, but overall the staff was not apologetic and I felt more than 100 euros was warranted given the price of the room and severity of the inconvenience.

Sometimes, there are some incidents we cannot control. A fried motherboard of the main AC machine, is one of them. It sounds like an excuse but it is not. We tried to find the solution as quickly as possible, but it took a few days to get a new motherboard and install it.As we said, we understand your feelings but this was an isolated incident which does not reflect the high standards we strive to achieve every day.We would like to apologize again for all the inconveniences encountered during your stay and hope that you will give us the opportunity to offer you a more satisfying experience and regain your confidence in the future.Kind regards,

Excellent property for visiting St. Emillion and Pomerol. Also, the restaurant is top-notch. Shame we only had one night there as the spa and other amenities looked to be very good as well, but we weren't there long enough to enjoy them.

Exceptionnel, parfait pour nos 5 ans de mariage !
Exceptionnel ! Nous n'aurions pas rêvé mieux pour fêter nos 5 ans de mariage avec mon épouse. Tout le personnel était aux petits soins pour nous, et le sur classement dans la suite Junior a été vraiment très apprécié. Le restaurant était aussi parfait, que ce soit le bistronomique le midi ou le gastronomique le soir. Enfin, le Spa est somptueux et les soins prodigués particulièrement agréables et professionnels. Nous reviendrons !!

Good stay
Good stay. Not a five star hotel. We were not welcomed at the door. We had to request help with our luggage. Dining options are really really limited. It’s a good location for Saint Emilion. Staff in restaurant were great, very friendly. Deluxe room was well appointed, spacious, nice bathroom, great view.

The hotel building and facilities are excellent. We visited for a short break after our wedding and got off to a great start - friendly welcome, tour of the hotel and a lovely card and flowers in our room. However from here the experience did decline slightly. Whilst the front of house staff continued to be helpful and friendly, those in charge of the restaurant and terrace area were less than polite, forgetting to refill drinks at dinner, seeming to be constantly rushed and on 3 occasions after we sat in various seats around the terrace/gardens rushing towards us and saying we couldn’t sit there. Despite the seats not being reserved at all. This was a rude and embarrassing conversation each time. We did mention this to the manager who met with us and apologised - however the next day we checked out with over €300 extra on our bill which we had to have removed. All of these are honest mistakes I’m sure, but for a 5* resort you don’t expect them to happen - certainly not that many times.

Local belíssimo, mas equipe mal treinada
O hotel é belíssimo em sua estrutura, porém deixa a desejar quando se refere a qualidade do serviço para um hotel desse nível e preço. Esperei quase uma hora após o horário máximo de check in para poder entrar no quarto. No check in os privilégios gold não foram oferecidos, mesmo com esse transtorno. A equipe, principalmente do restaurante é bem mal treinada. No geral vale a pena pela beleza do lugar e pela estrutura física do hotel.

Beautiful stay in St Emilion chateau
Beautiful chateau, good location, lovely outdoor space. Pool and bar great. Breakfast could have been better and I had to call up four days later because they forgot to release the deposit block on my credit card.
