It's very rustic but cozy. Looks a little off putting given the grounds but if you want rustic, nothing fancy, this is it. There is NO Wifi, that's no joke, so keep that in mind. Don't let that be a deal breaker though. Go back to Daniel Boone and pick up service. There are towels and soap and shampoo in your room, but it's limited. There is a fridge/microwave in room. Beds are small but comfy. Beautiful wood high ceiings. The porch is nice to sit on and just observe nature. There is also a woman that lives full time at the Black Bear Lodge and is SO NICE and loves the company, so ask her about the area and she'll give you all kinds of pointers. You check-in and get your key at the Daniel Boone Coffee shop and drop your key off at same spot. Easy check-in/out process. I read poor reviews about this, but people, just read instructions and you won't have an issue. Daniel Boone Coffee Shop is AMAZING and so charming and is where you will most likely get your breakfast or lunch, drinks, souvenirs. Show your room key and get a free coffee! The food is very good and reasonably priced. There is a nice sitting area to sip your drink or eat and there's also a couple tables out front which I liked, so I could watch the outside traffic drive by.
This motel is close to your Natural Bridge attractions, the Gorge Zipline, Underground Kyak tour, hike to Natural Bridge, etc. Great location and I would definitely stay again some day.
