Hotel a Smithville Flats

“Booked online for my US Army active duty son returning to Ft.Drum. Upon arrival he found a note on the door with an after hours number to call. He called at 9:30pm and was told, " I'm already in bed, you must have booked online. Maybe try super 8. We'll refund your card tomorrow." ”

“Check in was friendly and fast. Room was very clean. Mattress and pillows were very comfy. The heat worked great. Bathroom was spotless and modern with plenty of hot water. Free coffee was tasty. My room faced the highway so I expected some road noise but it was non existent. Overall a great stay at a reasonable price. I grew up in the area so I go back every once in a while for the local food and I just found my new home away from home. ”

“We never set foot in the place unfortunately. We got to the property after dark and it was unlit exterior The door was not programmed as promised and we could not get in. The owner didn’t respond to our or the property management company’s many communications for two days so we had to stay at a run down hotel which was all we could get at 9:30 on a Friday night in the middle of nowhere A week later the owner still hadn’t responded or apologized for our family’s considerable inconvenience...

“We didnt stay .. this was binghamton not the vestal hotel which is nice .. sheets were soiled with large brown spot ,room smelled strongly of cigarette some , hallway rugs were black with dirt .. were told we could change the sheets ourselves or cancel … we cancelled .. ”

“No shower curtain! Took forever to get them to bring one. They must have not changed the bed or something from someone before us being I am very allergic to dogs and as soon as I got in bed i broke out like crazy, which is why need to shower.. and have no shower curtain! Got back in bed and again! So someone before us definitely had a dog in the bed and they absolutely did not change the bedding! We immediately left!”

“Where do I begin when we arrived? let me preface this by saying I did not read reviews because it was a last-minute booking as a different one fell through. We were the only car in the whole parking lot (on a saturday) I then noticed immediately at least five homeless people with carts hanging around in and out of rooms, talking loudly and behind us at the motel office the person who literally greeted us was recording us on his phone through the window.
