I didn't stay after I saw the room and the general cleanliness of the stairs and corridor. Also there was going to be a live band in the bar till midnight which would have been disruptive to any sort of rest. The previous licensee had walked out 3 days earlier and a replacement had been put in but the situation would have been little different. Once upon a time this was a decent pub with good value accommodation. I wouldn't recommend it under any circumstances at the moment.

Good value, great hospitality
Very friendly welcome. Comfortable & clean room. Very convenient for Minster (main reason for visit to Southwell). Good breakfast (especially the poached eggs!). Good value for money, we would recommend it.

Cheap & Cheerful
Cheap and cheerful for a night away - although bed was lumpy and pub below was noisy after closing. Breakfast was prepared for me although they hadn't asked what I wanted - good job I'm not vegetarian! It was nice, but I didn't really want a full English!

Nice friendly pub accommodation
The Bramley Apple Inn is a little jewel in Southwell. A short walk from the Minster and located on the main street, the managers strive for a friendly relaxed atmosphere, which they achieve. Yes it is a pub and understand that the rooms are directly above the pub, but it is an Inn not a Hotel, so it is exactly what we thought it would be. The night we stayed there was a Karaoke on in the bar, which was great fun to watch (we didn't take part!) and judging by their events calendar, they try to out something on most evenings. Some people might find it a little on the loud side, but it really was not a problem. The rooms were clean and comfortable and had everything one needs for a short stay. The 3 of us loved it - and really enjoyed our breakfast the next morning. Proper British Pub hospitality. The managers even made us some chip butties at no charge while we watched the karaoke! Don't get that in most places, do you?

A night at Bramley Apple Inn
This is not an expensive place to stay. The staff were friendly and the room adequate, The shower was excellent but the shower screen not so good needs a new seal. The breakfast was good. Two negatives were that the carpet on the stairs and landing is dirty and quite soiled. There was no toilet paper and luckily found out before I needed it. Staff took a while to find but all ended well. I had hoped for food in the evening but was directed to the pub down the road. The food there was of excellent quality but excessive quantity.
