Thanks Dave. You said it best...full of nature and good family times...We manage the property as a refuge for wildlife. The herds of elk, deer, bald eagles and incredible fishing are a huge part of what makes our ranch “magical” as the last guest described. It’s rare for us to receive anything less than a 5 star review. When it happens, we appreciate the opportunity. In this case, we learned that we should’ve made it more clear we don’t allow shooting or snow mobile riding on the property. It is in the rental agreement and instruction sheet, but we’ll make that more clear going forward and not just in the fine print! We welcome hunters and snow mobile enthusiasts all the time to enjoy the abundance around our lodge, but respectfully ask our guests to help us protect and preserve the refuge we have for wildlife. Thank you! After a relaxing soak in our hot tub, the cedar barrel sauna with a clear dome overlooking our spring creek is a luxurious treat to relax in while watching the trout rise and the elk in the meadow. We hope you’ll come again.

I love the reference to City Slickers, one of my favorite movies, starring Billy Crystal, at his wits end in his mid life crisis who goes out West trying to find that one thing that's missing. That's what people find at Elk River Lodge and why they keep coming back, having the time of their lives, making memories, finding inspiration, and peace in a historic, authentic setting with amazing scenery, with luxurious beds and amenities.
