Overall had a fantastic time. The owners were very helpful, efficient and friendly. The property and facilities were great if a little tired. A few of downsides were that as my parents, who were on the trip with me and are elderly, it would have been nice if the lift had worked instead of having four flights of stairs to climb, the property was very hot and we had no aircon, only fans, this meant we had to have doors open at night as the heat was intense and as result we were bitten by mossies a lot, lastly, the property is quite remote which was great for peace and quiet but it meant long road trips on incredibly bad and potholed roads if you wanted to head south to Bridgetown and the beaches. Close to Speightstown and Mullins tho. All that said, i would recommend Vuemont as the positives far outwayed the negatives.

HI Daryl, we are sorry to hear of the few negatives that you experienced, but perhaps we could say in our defence that it was disappointing that the lift had not been working. Barbados being a small Island is always at the mercy of its imports & this applies to the lift spares, which is always an ongoing issue with us, but having said that, the 4 flights of stairs that you have said, does not quite relay the true picture, as the apt, is a 1st floor apt with only 1 apt below it & those "4 flights" are small with a small landing between each, that only really goes up one floor. As for the "Property & facilities were a little tired", we hope this was not aimed at the apt itself, as it has recently undergone a bit of a refurb, as far as new open plan kitchen has been done, new sofa & patio furniture has been completed. We hope to continue with the refurb plan with a newly decorated 2nd bedroom & new bathrooms for this year. We were sorry to hear that you struggled with the heat, but as you have said there is always a good breeze up there as the apt is on a hill with beautiful views & the majority of guests always opt for the breeze rather than the a/c, which is always available to our guests should they still find they need it. We do have some lovely big ceiling fans & a floor fan that are always there for the use of. The Pot Holed roads.. well what can I say to that.. apart from we certainly feel your pain on this matter, generally the roads in Barbados along with their pavements leave little to be desired & it is an ongoing battle & dare we say, we have to look on it as being a charm of Barbados.. !!! The mossies we normally have a very good success rate of them not attacking anyone staying in the apt, because of the breeze & all our French doors & windows have either Fixed Mozzie Nets or Voiles at the doors & they find it difficult to fly against the wind. More often than not the bites come from being down wind or away from the apt.. ! Our Apt looks down onto the coast & as the "Crow Flies" it would be a short journey, but the road down from our apt is on what we would describe it as a "helter skelter" road, it winds itself down to the bottom, which is about 8-10 mins in a car, as the hill would be too steep & hot to walk it.. ! We always do say that Car Hire is a must when staying there. Otherwise we were glad to hear that on the whole you enjoyed your holiday in Barbados BR.

Fantastic!
We had an incredible week staying at the apartment as it had everything we needed and more. The balcony was a lot bigger than expected and the complex was very secure. Jenn was great on the build up to the stay and was contactable throughout in order to make our stay as comfortable as possible. Couldn't recommend this apartment enough! We will be back.

Great apartment, car essential
Apartment was very clean, comfortable and spacious with a great sized balcony. We also enjoyed using the pool area at the clubhouse which was very well maintained. Jennine and Jody were also super helpful both before and during our stay.

Relaxing, peaceful, comfortable!
This apartment was clean, comfortable and in a quiet community. It's not close to the beach so the use of a car or taxi would be necessary. Vuemont is in the northwest part of the island, close to beautiful beaches but away from the very busy south and southwest. The complex has four pools, three shallow enough for children and one larger, deeper pool. The kitchen was well-equipped, beds comfortable and the outdoor balcony a delightful spot to eat and relax. The owners were very helpful, offering many suggestions for outings and restaurants and answering questions quickly.. Thank you for a great stay!

The property is accurately described. It’s well furnished and in a good location. When the Barbadian sun is at full pelt, the fact that the breezes blow straight through the apt is extremely welcome. The main pool is a much underused facility- at least when we were there. It’s a lovely place to swim, and now there is a weekly meet-up on Monday evening where residents can meet up and admire the view. Beaches, restaurants are all within 10/15 mins by car. Jennine is mighty helpful, every chance we will stay here again.

On arrival at Vuemont we were welcomed by the security guard at the gate and directed to the apartment car park. The apartment was well presented and very clean and tidy. The next morning we were able to appreciate the rooms and especially the veranda where we spent most of the time as the view is special as shown in the picture. We would certainly recommend this property as the owners took the trouble to outline the do's and don'ts and share their experiences of the island (which is beautiful). They also arranged car hire for us, which as we found out was an essential, as the property is accessed by a steep hill. We can only thank them very much for that. We soon found our way to a number of beaches along the west coast and ventured to the other side of the island which is also stunning. The people are so friendly and helpful and we ate locally as there was no reason to search far and wide for restaurants. The supermarkets were well stocked, and we did not find it too expensive. Would certainly visit again.

Perfect location
A lovely place to stay in Barbados perched on the hill with views of the Caribbean in the distance. The balcony was a real favourite to be enjoyed at all times of the day from breakfast in the morning; great sofas to chill out and read during the day and a table and chairs to enjoy a meal. A great holiday with good organisation from Jennine before and during our stay.

So pleased you enjoyed your stay, both of you. I think you must have mimicked my holiday, as the balcony is probably where we spend 80% of our time when we are in the apt! Having the Sun in the morning on the balcony for breakfast is the right way round, because as the balcony is shaded from the hottest time of the day, you are still able to sit out there comfortably!! Even the rain doesn't deter you from being out there!! It was our pleasure to have you to stay at the apt, you both are more than welcome to stay again whenever you are able to do the trip next!! Family of 4 visit to Barbados ( kids aged 12 and 14)
Wonderful spot. The apartment was clean and fully equipped. We enjoyed the space it provided particularly the two sets of french doors with walk-out to covered deck. The breeze with doors and windows open was amazing and because of this we spent 24 hours a day in the fresh air. We only had one evening that was a bit hot. We enjoyed walks around the complex at night and watching the sunset from the most west part of the property. A car is a must have and if you enjoy exploring this is great spot to do it from. I wasn't sure about being off the beach but we loved it. We took the opportunity to explore the many different highlights of the Island. The roads are not so wide and not always well marked but if you have the ability to use google maps it worked like a charm. Groceries would highly recommend a trip to Holetown early in your vacation for groceries. They have a good selection is this sizeable supermarket. Speightown supermarket down by the ocean is also well stocked with options. We found we cooked most meals to cut down on costs. Being Canadian the USD can take a bit out of your spending. Didn't mind at all cooking in the well-quipped kitchen. We even used the coolers provided to pack a lunch several days. Lunch at the Orange Street Grocer ( Small Gourmet Deli) in Speightown's is worth a trip. Great location, a little on pricey side but a delightful treat and worth it. The North point at Flower Pot Cave is definitely worth a visit. Snorkelling off the beach at Folkstone Marine Park just of north of Holetown is worth it. You can rent equipment there for $10. You can also spot turtles at one end of the Sandy Lane Beach. And of course a day trip to Crane Beach. It really is one of the most beautiful beaches. Make sure to go up top in the Resort for a fantastic view of the gorgeous blue water. Thank you Jennine we really enjoyed our vacation and your spot was very comfortable.

Hello James, Reading your lovely review, makes me want to go over now & do it all over again! We are so glad to hear that you had everything you needed & that the Cooler bag came in handy for you all!! I do agree with you about just being set back up on the hill away from the beach has its compensations, like the views for starters, especially come sunset & having the constant breeze up there, acts as free a/c! And good to come away from the end of a hard day on the beach or sight seeing! Would love to think you might make a return to Brocklestone Hill one day. BR Jennine

Peaceful, Spacious and Relaxing
"Brocklestone Hill" in Vuemont development was an excellent accommodation for the four of us. A car is a must, but we had planned on renting one anyway. The location was splendid as we were no more than about 30 minutes from anywhere we wanted to go and much closer to many including excellent beaches. The all inclusive Almond Beach resort only about ten minutes away was our preferred "day at the beach" destination. Also we did not have to fight traffic every time we wanted to go anywhere which would not have been the case in many other parts of the island. The grocery store at the end of the street made it easy to pick up any daily necessities when we returned at the end of the evening. The apartment was very roomy, clean well maintained and extremely well laid out to allow the lovely and fairly constant breeze to flow through the apartment. It had all the amenities we needed and the staff of the complex were very helpful and extremely friendly and welcoming. The elevator was very welcome for luggage and big grocery days, but walking up the stairs was good exercise the rest of the time. Walking in the country is extremely difficult as there is very little if any shoulder and fewer sidewalks with lots of blind hills and corners. Walking within the complex, however was safe and secure and provided a good workout each morning. We had the four pools pretty much to ourselves the whole two weeks. Barbados is not a low budget vacation destination and the reasonable cost of the apartment split between the two couples made it possible for us to enjoy all the attractions we wanted to without worrying about the expense. All of us agreed we would recommend it to any of our friends who may travel to Barbados in the future and to stay again ourselves if we come back.

Huge balcony to relax on
Ideally located away from the main tourist areas for exploring the whole island by car. A very peaceful complex with well tended gardens. You may be lucky enough to see monkeys or humming birds from the balcony. It gets the early morning sun before it gets too intense. After which it is in the welcome shade and catches the cooling easterly breeze. There are 2 sofas so it is like being in an outdoor lounge. Very comfortable. There is also a good sized dining table and chairs to eat al fresco in the cooling breeze. There are also sun loungers and drying facilities. Outside the front door gets the evening sun. The whole apartment is very homely with lots of equipment to be completely self catering. Jennine gave us useful information about where to eat and places to go. A good map and guide book and the island is yours to explore.
