The property is beautiful and the couple who run it are really kind. The room was clean and comfy and the food was good, and they were accommodating of dietary needs. It’s right on the bank of a creek and it’s a nice view, plus a short walk to the tourist attractions of the town. Thanks so much, and I hope to come back sometime!

We were passing through on our way from Georgia to Ontario and stayed in a very comfortable room in the main building. We also had dinner at the restaurant and the menu was excellent and the food was terrific. If you stay make sure you eat in the restaurant

Aaron and Jill are exellent at what they do. They make sure that our visit at the hotel was fantastic. We had an incredible time staying in one of the outside tents. Watching the morning sunrise with the view of the river and all the houses and trees on the opposite side of the street was breathtaking. We heartily endorse this establishment. Nick and Johnny.

We stayed in the Carriage House, with a view of the river. This lovely Inn is located near the end of a quiet street, and has a nice cafe/restaurant on the first floor of the historic main house. We had a delicious dinner as well as breakfast the next morning. The Innkeepers are engaging and friendly. I’m sure we will be back.

This is a very unique location with tons of history and great hotel amenities. Hiking, walking is readily accessible. Cool spot!

Elk River is a beautiful property built in 1898 which has been beautifully maintained and is currently extremely well run by Jill and Aaron. We had a wonderful dinner at the cafe Saturday night and three delicious breakfasts on Saturday, Sunday, and Monday. Our stay could not have been more pleasant.

Jill and Aaron are great! Very kind, considerate and helpful. They made our dinner order to go since the Cafe was closing. The food was awesome by the way. We rented one of their domes, it was so nice. Great view of the river and at night you can look up at the stars, inside. No TV, not that we needed one for this stay, but going forward that might be my only suggestion. We would definitely stay again. Thank you both for making us feel so welcomed!

Amazing stay with Great Hosts
Me and my wife went for a weekend fall getaway, we are so glad we picked the Glamping Dome at the Elk River Hotel and Cafe. It was amazing! The hosts were so inviting and friendly, felt like family from the time we checked in. We ate dinner at the Cafe and it was delicious. Had an amazing nights sleep with the short rainfall during the night pelting on our Glamping Dome. We went for the included breakfast the next morning to find our hosts back at it again pleasing all guests with an amazing breakfast. So glad we chose to stay with the Elk River Hotel and Cafe, we will definitely be back soon.

Romance or family get a way
Love the small town feel. Fishing right in the backyard. Hotel proprietors are so friendly and accommodating. Great dinner and have wine by the glass or bottle to bring to your room. Nice bar around back. Highly recommend house rooms. One has a nice private veranda. Dome glamping is a must. Carriage house rooms are not as nice, but still quaint. Sutton Lake right around the corner. Jill and Aaron are out reason for frequent returns.

We needed to be in the Sutton area for a day, and really didn’t expect much - would have settled for so much less for the money, but we were so happy with our dome Glamping experience! The Sycamore dome was spacious, offering a mini-fridge, a private bathroom with shower, and king bed (so comfy). The air conditioned dome was dry and comfortable. Our view of the Elk river was serene; our only regret was that our stay was so short, we didn’t get a chance to explore the area. We loved that the main house offered a full service restaurant and bar, very convenient, and the food was excellent. Glad we took advantage of the complementary breakfast too, it was very good, a nice touch. Here are our few criticisms; parking on the narrow street is tricky, they need more help in the restaurant (but isn’t that the problem everywhere?), and the bathroom in the dome is ready for a deep-cleaning (it was “good-enough”, but should be better). All in all, we really enjoyed this place and with those minor observations, wholeheartedly recommend staying here!

Charming!
The hosts were very welcoming and hospitable. They asked what time we would be up and ready to eat breakfast, because they would have it ready by then. Breakfast was fabulous. Our room was perfect for our group of friends. It was a really clean, homey space. This place overall is just really charming and comfortable to stay at. We would definitely recommend it and we would love to come back!

There was absolutely no service. Could not get ahold of anybody all day. They treated their hotel like it was a hobby, not a business. The main house was gorgeous but The cottage was less then stellar With peeling paint and rotten floorboards

Richard, We are a boutique hotel that operates with limited staffing. I am sorry that when you wanted to check in at 11am and 1:30pm there was no one was available. However, our policy is check in is at 4:00 pm and you did not make arrangements to check in early. Unfortunately, since you did not stay you did not get to see how beautiful the room was that you had originally booked. The railings do need to be painted and we are currently addressing that situation. Thank you.

Hidden Gem
A surprisingly wonderful find! A hidden gem! We really enjoyed our stay. Jill, the host, was welcoming and friendly. Dinner was excellent as was the complimentary breakfast. Only 2 miles from 79, this historic hotel is worth checking out! Staying here made our trip back from Florida a pleasant adventure.

Perfection.
This place is a gem. We stayed in the basement of the carriage house. Five beds! Worth every penny. Food was well worth the wait! The yurts look great! Service was like family.

Beautiful area
We stayed in the carriage house suite, the room was nice but the bed sagged in the middle and made for a very uncomfortable sleep. The privacy glass above the bed allowed light to pour in all night as well. Overall it was a nice stay but there are some changes that could be made to make the beds way more comfortable. Also, as an electrician the outlets in the bathroom next to the tub should be a GFCI per NEC code. Same for the sink area. We notice these kind of things and it’s a safety issue.
