Beautiful Spot to relax
I am a well seasoned traveler and own and AirB&B myself. I chose this location based on my knowledge of the area. A true gem and the photos and description does not do this property justice. There were too many amenities to list, and the care and attention to details made us decide we would book this property again, with family next time. You will not be disappointed if you are looking for a beautiful, & tranquil spot to stay along the Northern California Coast. FIVE STARS!!

What a great location near the beach and the redwoods! It was so quiet and peaceful at the property. We had a great stay and would highly recommend it.

Cabin with the deer out the front porch
This was a great getaway for my husband and I on our 20th anniversary. It’s a 1 room studio cabin, with an large kitchen for its size. It comes with a tv, a fire place and nice little rocking chairs on the porch looking into the forest. There were a lot of plus’s to this property but there could also be a few improvements. There is not a proper place for your luggage and clothing, therefore our clothes ended up strewn about the room and haphazardly thrown across the sofa. The sofa and love seat had nice deep and comfortable cushions but the hard wood arm rests did not allow for lounging. The high top table in the middle of the room was a great place to put drinks and read maps of the area but would probably be better if it was a large coffee table that could be used with the sofa. There was not anything to clean up minor spills like the coffee grounds we dropped, but they did provide both coffee and a tasty bottle of wine to drink out of there mismatched cups. The bathroom could definitely use some work, it needs a paint job and the peeling paint above the bathtub to be scraped off. I would also suggest some hooks and a shelf in there for a place for extra towels and to hang your clothes. But the mirrored cabinet was a useful place to put your bathroom items and we were very grateful for that. It would have also been very great to have a full length mirror somewhere in the cabin. Our hostess was gracious and helped us by offering an air printer. Overall B+

A perfect hideaway nestled in Trinidad!
Let me just start this review with a thank you to property owner, Ms. Carolyn, for her warmth and hospitality. We have a new home away from home. The property is located in the perfect spot to explore the Redwood coast. We were minutes away from Su-Meg and 30 minutes from Redwood National Park and Fern Canyon. The cabin is lovely and fully-stocked to cook at home if you would like. We cooked some delicious Humboldt steak in the kitchen. 10/10. The water runs HOT! And it is so peaceful to wake up with the skylight and hear the pond and frogs at night. This is truly a getaway from the world. We did not have cell service, but the internet is STRONG! My favorite part was the bonfire we enjoyed with Ms. Carolyn. She was so kind and helpful and I will cherish this space and Golden Eagle vacation rentals forever! Already planning the next trip back!

Wonderful Experience Overall
Cabin was perfect, recently remodeled, clean and well stocked. The property is also quite beautiful and tranquil. Host was friendly and helpful. We had some vehicle issues on our trip so got there after 9PM. Took us a while to find a note and the unit. Only negative was the phone # for contact on Vrbo is disconnected. This was a minor inconvenience a couple of times for us. Way above and beyond service from owner who had a local mechanic friend look at and fix our drooping skid plate! That alone made it over a 5 star experience. We would definitely return and recommend.

Cozy Comfort

Great location
We had such a great time and enjoyed how easy it was to get to many popular locations from the Redwoods to the Beaches. There is an updated kitchen area with all the appropriate appliances for a comfortable stay and the quiet but close location is great for two people and a dog to get away and explore.

Our 47th Wedding Anniversary
We had a wonderful stay, complete with a bottle of wine from our host. We actually heard the the sea lions barking in the distance. This place is worth every penny.

We really enjoyed our stay and meeting Marke. Comfy, quiet, peaceful in a beautiful spot! Our pup, Rowan, enjoyed sitting on the large porch with us as we sipped coffee and smelled the forest. Leaving relaxed & ready to return next time!

Will be returning over and over again!
My fiance and I stayed for a week while we eloped in the area! We were welcomed with open arms and felt like we were at home. This cabin is on a property of a few other cabins on the owners property. Our cabin was tucked away from the others and was the perfect romantic getaway! The manager Marco was AMAZING! He always made us feel we were taken care of and made us a fire to enjoy every evening! My now husband and I were blown away! We will be returning back quite frequently!

Peaceful Setting
We enjoyed the peacefulness of this cabin. The campfire at night, under the tall trees was wonderful. We could hear the ocean across the way. The location is great as well. You can drive a half hour north or south and find all kinds of beaches, trails, activities to enjoy or just down the street from the cabin you can enjoy your adventure at SuMeg Village (Patrick's Point). there you can go to the beach, hike, meander on all the trails, see wildlife and take a lot of great photos. $8.00 entry day use fee. Overall, we were satisfied with this cabin. It has everything you need. You just bring food.

Beautiful property, inside & out
The grounds are beautifully maintained by the onsite owner/manager Marke, who greeted us as soon as we arrived. He brought us to our lovely cabin which was outfitted with everything we needed, then offered firewood in case we wanted to make a fire (the stone pit was just in front of our cabin). He even offered us a free bottle of wine (since we don't drink much, he gave us a bottle of organic Martinelli's!). It's isolated enough where you can't hear any of the traffic on 101 so other than silence you only hear a variety of singing birds and the ocean wind rustling on leaves. Gorgeous. It's a short walk to Sue-meg SP and a short drive into the town of Trinidad or Arcata for food, supplies, etc. It's also ideally located for short drives to all our favorite redwood hikes. We WILL return :-)!!

Peaceful and Serene
We had a great time, very relaxing and quiet! The owner built us such a lovely campfire! The communication was super easy and quick and the place looks exactly like it does on the pictures. The neighborhood is very conveniently located between Trinidad and Sue-Meg State Park. Would absolutely recommend to stay there!

Awesome place to stay. Very nice hosts. Close to quiet beaches. Very peaceful & tranquil site. Definitely recommend if your looking for an escape place, away from the craziness of life.. this is your spot. Also close to great dining spots.

Great but...
The property was clean except there was dirt on the bathroom floor, the remote was greasy and there was food splatter on a cabinet. The refrigerator wasn't working but the manager brought me some ice for my food. The dresser is completely non-functional with the drawers falling out with me struggling to get them back in. I hope these issues are resolved by my next visit. The bed was very comfy and the manager brought me wood and started a fire in the fire pit. There's a nice big area for your dog and close to Patrick's Point for walking. Peaceful and homey. I'll be back soon.

Peaceful haven
We adored the peace at Golden Eagle cottages. Perfectly located for exploring the whole region. All amenities are supplied including coffee for that morning get-me-going!!!! Very comfortable bed & couch for those laid back times. Owners are super friendly & very approachable. Seriously considering a return trip in the spring to hopefully see the whale migration. Highly recommend this place.

The cabin is modern, clean, and comfortable. If you’re in the area to visit the parks, this is a great location; easy drive to Prairie Creek State Park and the National Park. Patricks Point State Park is across the street!

Trouble in Trinidad
Property is in a lovely setting, although the dog friendly unit is very close to the owners house we were glad to be able to bring our dogs. It’s a short drive to beaches and the redwoods. We did have one problem that has left a sour taste. We put food in the fridge, which I thought they had just turned back on. Turns out it wasn’t working at all and our food was ruined. The manager told us the owner would refund us the money to replace the items. That was two weeks ago today and still no money. It’s very disappointing. I hope they keep their word.

Perfect little getaway
We enjoyed our stay in this cute cabin. Our 10 year old lab Missy was welcome and had a good time. Marke was very friendly and easy to communicate with. We really appreciated him when we were unable to to make our original reservation due to a health issue and he kindly changed it for us on short notice. Marco was great helping us settle in and building the evening bonfire. The peaceful setting is lovely and close to several beautiful dog friendly beaches. Marke has done a wonderful job and we definitely plan to return.

Weekend getaway with our newly adopted dog.
Property manager Marko was very welcoming. It was awesome to stay in a little cabin with our dog. We enjoyed it very much but would have been nice if the water to the shower was turned on (didn't discover this until the morning we were leaving and no time to get it taken care of). Internet didn't work. We were given multiple access codes, one of which worked barely the first night, then not at all. Not sure why this was an issue as this vacation rental has been in business for awhile. If you want to get away from the internet, this is great. Would have been nice to have it more. Our personal bonfire at night was great.

Cute Mountain Cabin
We had a great time communing with the trees, as the location was very close to the redwoods. Went on many nature walks in the area. Loved the little town of Trinidad. Oh, my goodness, the food in the Trinidad restaurants was soooo delicious! Property managers Marco and Debbie were very pleasant and very helpful.

Bumpy visit
We arrived in the rain to find the cottage we were promised was not prepared, but even that would be easier had we been met with more curiosity and belief than being made to feel like we were an imposition. The caretaker did not wish to see the very clear messages on my VRBO app from Marke about the cottage reservation. Finally she reluctantly called Marke, and we were allowed the original cottage promised, which importantly had much drier surroundings for our dogs on this rainy weekend. But the bathroom was not cleaned, and there was melted plastic on the glass stove top (fixed that). It's a beautiful setting, and close to the start of the Trinidad to Clam Beach race, but can't say it went smoothly this time around, like in the past.

Peace and Quiet
This cottage is in such a beautiful setting with the impression of being more remote than it is. We came back to this place - the only rental I've ever gone back to. An amazing place to also enjoy our 2 large, well-behaved dogs, we could only ask for a better equipped kitchen as the nearby options for eating out aren't that many, but there's an amazing grocery store in Trinidad we love.

Enchanted Forest on the Coast
We thoroughly enjoyed our stay. What a beautiful setting tucked into the woods and lovely accommodations. The setting was amazingly quiet and private. It didn't hurt at all to be greeted with a bottle of wine and gorgeous appetizers after our long day of driving. Mark and family were wonderfully gracious.

Convenient to Redwoods
We enjoyed this area very much; the Redwoods are spectacular! Trinidad is a cute town with good restaurants. Our cottage was fine. It had everything we needed. Very clean. A couple of cons for us: The driveway is fairly steep, has loose gravel & lots of holes - we had trouble getting up it every time. We couldn't park in front of our cottage for some reason so had to park up the hill & walk. The parking area is not marked so we got fussed at a couple of times for parking in the wrong place. Also the queen bed fills up the entire bedroom area so one person has to literally climb over the other. The cottage was great other than these things.

Wow, what a retreat!
The property is beautiful and peaceful, even with photos seen ahead of time, the Forest Haven unit was more beautiful than expected. Very clean and comfortable, all the amenities you would need, very quiet and private deck. We saw tons of birds, had a deer about 10 feet from our front door in the middle of the day (1st day there!). Nice short drives to nearby attractions, easy access to the 101, etc. Marke, our host, was super nice, very accommodating, and so quiet it was like we had the property to ourselves- an all around great guy. We also brought our dog, who was very comfortable, and didn't want to leave either! Thanks so much for everything Marke, we hope to come back and stay again soon!
