Friendly Staff and Great Location
Staff is super friendly and the hotel is a lot bigger than I thought it would be. Rooms were a little older, but very clean. Location is perfect for dining (on-site is great as well), walking the boardwalk and only two minutes from the golf course. Would stay here again.

We had a fabulous room (lots of space) with a fantastic view of Ballinskellings Bay. Lots of luxury touches in the room. Our dinner (and breakfast) were excellent. NO question this is an outstanding lodging.

Very pleasant overnight stay
We had a spacious and comfortable room with a sea view. All the staff who we came in contact with were friendly and efficient. The breakfast is very good with lots of choice including kippers which is always a bonus. If you have lunch here be warned that the portions are enormous. My toasted special sandwich would easily have been enough for two.

Little hot
The only concern is that the hotel is dated, with NO air conditioning is really apparent that having fans would be needed. The meals were first class and delicious, the service was excellent and the view is spectacular!

Our new favourite spot!
We came down to Waterville for two nights as my fiancé was competing in the Hardman triathlon - we weren’t looking for anything more than convenience, so the Butler Arms seemed perfect location-wise for us. We really didn’t expect it to be as lovely as it was. We arrived and were greeted at reception by a really lovely lady, who quickly checked us in, and surprised us by telling us they were overbooked on the room type we had booked, so they had upgraded us! We got to our room, and it was honestly gorgeous, we had a floor to ceiling bay window overlooking the sea - it was the most beautiful view. We also had a couch and chairs to sit and look out from. We ate in the restaurant the first night, the service and good was delicious, with our table overlooking the sea - beautiful. Breakfast both mornings was lovely, and again the service great. We really, really loved it there and would recommend to anyone - we will 100% be back! It made our Waterville trip for us!

Great stay and location. Good view of town and ocean with several restaurants and bars nearby. We did not eat dinner here but breakfast was very good. Waterville Golf Course 2 miles away. Would stay again.

We were just there for an overnight between Kenmare and Dingle, after doing some local sightseeing. Beautiful ocean views, great breakfast, restaurants and bar in the hotel. Great spot! We easily went on to Portmagee for the Skellig Michael trip the next day, 20 minutes drive.

Comfortable stay
Old hotel but rooms are very modern and comfortable to stay in. Restaurant had great food that wasn’t to pricey and the bar had plenty of atmosphere with locals and visiting golfers.

Classy Hotel
Beautiful classy hotel. Lovely dinner, rooms were very nice, clean and comfortable. Staff very friendly and helpful. Ate dinner outside the hotel looking out on the beach. Vegetarian friendly, my friend said the polenta dinner was devine!

I chose this hotel based on our travel plans and their good reviews. The hotel exceeded our expectations. The entire hotel staff was friendly and responsive. We were able to observe the two sisters that own the hotel interacting with staff and customers, and it was obvious that the high level of service starts with their personal interactions and attention to the service needs of their customers. A bonus was learning about the long history of the hotel and the interesting customers that have visited over the years.

Best Hotel we stayed in on the Kerry Ring
This is a very homely, friendly hotel. We received a warm welcome. It is charmingly old fashioned but with modern facilities. We had a lovely large room with a sea view with bathroom with an over bath shower. There was tea and coffee making in the room. WiFi available too. Dinner served in the conservatory was brilliant. A good menu choice. I enjoyed the lamb and my husband enjoyed the scallops. Breakfast was good, lots of choice with hot breakfast cooked to order. Waterville is a quiet place. Very peaceful with a lovely walk along the sea wall.

Butler Arms is currently owned/operated by two sisters, having been in the family for a 100 years. Our stay was wonderful. The staff was the friendliest I have ever encountered. Food was excellent. The views were beautiful.
