Three day ski vacation-cation
Went for a long weekend to the Wellsboro area for a day of skiing, and to visit the PA Grand Canyon. This house is ideal. It is very close to town yet outside of the main area so you feel secluded. It has a rustic vibe but all the modern amenities and has the hottest and best water I have ever had a shower in! Huge well-stocked kitchen, and we made lots of food during our stay We had marshmallows on the fireplace on the side deck, which was lovely and plenty of seating…. We will definitely come back and rent this house again we had a great time!

Beautiful lodge near the pine creek trail
Very comfortable setting, clean and spacious. We loved being so near to great hiking and biking. The lodge was great. The cozy fire in the outdoor fireplace on the covered porch was a memorable way to end each fun filled day. I highly recommend and will definitely return.

Annual Family Trip
We are from Pittsburgh and pick a place to drive every summer and chose the PA grand canyon this year. Loved the house ... very homey! Has all the ammenities that you would need and is centrally located between grand canyon and the town of Wellsboro. I would recommend this house to anyone. Sabrina was great also with giving recommendations on restaurants and things.

Nothing short of thrilled
The online listing looked fantastic and it was even better in person. Amenities were more than expected. With 3 adult couples there was plenty of room and privacy. We were all over the moon with the accommodations. We are already trying to figure out when we will return.

Quick getaway
Great property. This house is beautiful and spacious. We are a family of 4 (2 teen boys) and one large Labrador. We wanted a quick getaway to see the PA Grand Canyon. The town of Wellsboro is so cute and has some very cute shops and great restaurants. The house is so nice and spacious. We really enjoyed the outdoor fireplace on the deck. It was very peaceful here. The hosts are quick to respond although we had no issues on our trip. They do reach out before you go and meet with you upon arrival. Such a lovely place would stay again.

Relaxation in Wellsboro
Fantastic location to hike, bike, dine, and see a movie. Lots of local restaurants. The house had everything we needed to stay in and cook most meals. The beds and linens super comfy! Fireplace on the deck was a nightly activity we looked forward to. Grocery very close. Laundry on premises was great for our friends who rode in on a motorcycle, as they packed light. Sabrina, the manager met us and made sure we had all we needed. Excellent place to relax. We look forward to the next visit!!!!!

Family Gathering
When you open the door and walk in the house just makes you smile. It's beautiful and the online pictures do not do it justice. Great place to stay and manager went over an above to make our stay special. We enjoyed being in Wellsboro and went downtown (5 minute drive) to dinner. Wellsboro reminds us of a Hallmark movie set. Beautiful gas light line main street at night! As we were there during the winter we woke to snow falling across the beautiful view. The home provided us with everything we need during our stay. We will visit here again!

Amazing Space
My husband and I stayed with our 2 dogs and we all absolutely loved the house and property. As many noted in their reviews, the pictures do not do the property justice. We will absolutely return. It's obvious a lot of care was taken in building this home and Sabrina was wonderful in showing us around the house before leaving us to enjoy our time. Thank you for sharing your home with us!

Great friends weekend!
My husband and our friends were looking for a long weekend getaway. We heard about the PA Grand Canyon and found this amazing listing in the area. The house exceeded expectations. It was perfect for the 6 of us, we were able to watch all sports games, play games, and cook all meals at the house with all the cookware provided! We had such a great time, we were planning our next trip before we left :)

Gorgeous place
The lodge is beautiful and so is the property. The location is great, just a few miles to Wellsboro and the Pine Creek Gorge. The kitchen was perfect for me as I love to cook. I do wish there had been blinds or curtains throughout the house, not just in the bedrooms and bathrooms. It's highly unlikely that anyone would be able to see anything, but it was a bit unnerving and when the sun was setting it was pretty blinding in spots. The fact that we were unable to adjust the heat ourselves was rather weird. We could call the property manager to come unlock the covering and adjust it, but I wasn't going to call her to turn the heat down two degrees. We just opened the windows. All in all though, we very much enjoyed our stay and hope to come back. The property is just beautiful and, for the most part, very comfortable.

Fabulous Getaway!
The home is magnificent. It’s larger than what appears in the photos online, and it’s very clean. The property manager was fantastic too! The house is equipped with all the necessary supplies and then some. The property is quiet and secluded, yet close to town! We had a wonderful stay and look forward to returning in the future. We just returned from a long weekend at this house with our entire family (mom, dad, two adult children and their significant others plus our two dogs). The house is nicely sized for 6 -8. There are three bedrooms, 2 1/2 baths and a sleeper sofa. The kitchen/living and dining rooms are all open to one another with two big decks off of the space (one on the back and another on the side) the side one has an outside fireplace. The house was clean and some basic pantry items were provided. You will need to bring food /drinks or stop at the grocery store which is only 10 minutes away. There is a liquor store in town as well for wine/hard stuff. The house is located near (but not on) the pine creek. The access to the creek and trail is about an 8 minute drive. I definitely would recommend this house for a trip in this area!

Restored Farm House
Great house! Very well equipped, the owner is very accommodating and responsive. Nice private location. The decks and grounds were awesome.Great kitchen and bedrooms, baths as well. Close to town. We hope to return one day. If I had one wish I would love Adirondack chairs around the fire pit. Otherwise the perfect spot.

Beautiful Wellsboro PA Lodge
We were in town for our nephew's wedding and stayed at the lodge with our adult kids and our parents. The lodge was clean and beautiful and very spacious. The property manager, Sabrina, was friendly, and knowledgeable, and responded to text communication very quickly! We had a great stay and would definitely recommend this property to others. Good place to stay for trip to Wellsboro and PA Grand Canyon
Four of us stayed this visit, although the place is nicely sized and set up for 3 couples, with a pullout couch for children or a 4th couple, if/as needed. We particularly enjoyed sitting around the fire, outside on the deck in the cooler fall evenings. Sabrina was very helpful and accessible, although we didn't need anything after check in as everything we needed was there already. The location is great--it's very private with nice views of the countryside, but just a short drive from the very quaint town of Wellsboro and from the head of the PA Grand Canyon trail, which was the reason for our visit. Recommend for anyone wanting to visit this area.

Peaceful Retreat
We had a wonderful time staying here. The house had everything we needed. Being able to sit outside on the decks was great since the weather was kind to us for the entire week long stay. It was minutes away from the town center and close to a number of golf courses which was one of the reasons that we choose the house. Thank you for a wonderful getaway!

The place was very well situated by the town of Wellsboro. Very clean and had most things we needed were already at the house. Could use more chairs/tables outside on the decks. A hot tub would have been great too! Otherwise, no complaints here!

Wonderful Place to Stay while visiting Grand Canyon of Pennsylvania
We greatly enjoyed our stay at this unique property. We were two couples who came to bike and hike the Grand Canyon of PA. Best things about this property; 1. Outdoor fireplace--we used it everyday. So nice sitting on the porch enjoying the fire. Toasted marshmellows with special stickes provided. 2. Kitchen--Absolutely huge with everything you need. Two islands with chairs to sit and watch. Special extra room off the kitchen with extra stuff. We cooked all our own meals for 3 days. 3. Architecture of the reused timbers from nearby barns. Lofty ceilings. A true labor of love to build this place. 4. Location was perfect. Only 10 minutes to Wellsboro as well as the trailheads for biking the Grand Canyon. Highly recommend using Pine Creek Outfitters valet service to take your car from Ansonia (10 minutes from the house) to anywhere down the bike trail. We had them drop our cars at Slate Run--car was waiting for us when we got there at 3PM. Also easy access from the house to the two great state parks, Leonard Harrison and Colton Point. If you only have time for one do Leonard Harrison--great views of the Canyon from the overlook trail. Only suggestions for the house; 1. Upstairs bedroom needs a new mattress or at least a pillowtop--you can feel the springs. 2. Need more wine glasses

Beautiful property could benefit from a few updates
Incredible views and super convenient location. Ample room for all of us to find our own comfy private spaces to relax and enjoy the beautiful Fall weather. The outside fireplace was a popular gathering place for morning coffee. Kitchen was large enough with plenty of counter space to accommodate several of us prepping different parts of our meals. We brought our own pots and pans as we prefer to cook with stainless steel. We enjoyed using the large grill off the main dining area. But it could benefit from a good scrubbing. Beds were comfortable and towels and linens provided were of high quality. We were unable to use the pullout sofa. It was old and very uncomfortable. The other couch in the main living room looked comfy, but unfortunately it too was old and worn out. With just a few updates to the furniture, we would happily return to this quiet and relaxing retreat. Be sure to schedule at least one outing with the AMAZING local tour guide Matt (brother of the property manager). His knowledge of the area’s history and wildlife made our hike a true highlight of our trip.

I want to thank you again for your stay at the Lodge a few weeks ago and I am so pleased to know over all you all had a wonderful time. At the same time, I am disappointed you were unhappy with the great room furniture. As a host (and I am speaking for our property manager, as well) we take great pride in being on top of every detail. As he owner it's my responsibility to make certain every detail is addressed fully. This is the first time any guests have mentioned anything about the furniture. However, know the main couch has been replaced with a new one and a new sleeper has been ordered. Just wanted to bring you up to date.

Lovely fall getaway
It was a perfect location for hiking and biking, and a very lovely home. We did all our own cooking (due to COVID) and found lots of kitchen amenities and utensils, but some items lacking (measuring spoons, saucepans with tops, grater, working wine opener, etc.). But those were minor inconveniences compared to the comfort and views from the house. And very attentive property manager.

The Perfect Pandemic Getaway
We truly enjoyed our short stay. The house is extremely well stocked and roomy. The online pictures don't really do justice to the rustic beauty of this house. It is a short ride to the Grand Canyon of PA. Sabrina was very attentive and greeted us on arrival. The only minor issue was there was no DVD player.

Absolutely Amazing!
The Lodge is just beautiful. My family and I had the most amazing time. The Lodge is enormous. You won’t be running into anyone here. Everything is so well thought out, the kitchen is stocked with everything you need. We loved to sit on the decks in the evening and watch the deer. Many came right through the back yard. There are lovely areas to enjoy walks and explore. Large well maintained yards for children to play. Beautiful vistas just a short walk away. Fire pit to enjoy s’mores and hot dogs. The best vacation my family has had so far! We were sad to leave. Richard is wonderful with communication and making sure you have everything you need! Checked on us before, during and after our stay. We will be back!

If you're looking for the most beautiful house in the most perfect town...you have found it! We knew this house would be amazing but it still blew our minds when we walked in! The craftmanship in the interior was extraordinary! The views from both decks were gorgeous! Dr. Strauch and Sabrina were very welcoming and friendly. Very comfortable
There were 15 of us and we all fit in! The house was very comfortable and well appointed. We loved it. It was also close to the Pennsylvania Grand Canyon with beautiful walks and hikes and waterfalls. Wellsboro is a pretty little town with everything that you need. It was a great vacation getaway for our whole family.

Very nice and clean house
The house has been maintained nicely. Interior of the house is beautiful. It will give a surprise to everybody. Very clean and the floor is new. Each rooms are large size room. We have thoroughly enjoyed every bit of time we spent there. Betty, the property manager, was there to welcome us and gave us a tour of the house on the day we arrived. She was very prompt to answer any question we had during our trip. Everything was there what we needed. Check out process was very quick Overall, we like the house and we definitely recommend to others.

Well-kept home with nice view
Our 13 -member group fit nicely in this spacious home. Very clean and all questions/concerns answered promptly. Please note the pond is not accessible and the indoor fireplace not usable. Very close to PA Grand Canyon and pets were OK. We loved all linens/towels provided for easy travel. Would rent again

We are pleased these guests enjoyed their stay. Please be aware the pond referenced to is not on the lodge property. Additionally, there is a large outdoor fireplace on the covered porch/deck which most guests enjoy. Insurance prohibits use of the indoor fireplace. We are pleased these folks would return.

A Great Way To Start a Family Tradition
From Bob's tour of the house to Dr. Strauch's warm check-in texts, the hospitality alone will bring us back repeatedly! The cabin is beautifully maintained (very clean) and had everything we could have possibly wanted. There was enough space to comfortably house our large family of 16. Town is a short 10 min drive and again provided all of our needs. Pizza from Pudggies was awesome! There was a huge snow storm during our stay the driveway and roadways were cleared within hours. The property is close to a ski resort, but the property offered awesome hills that we used for sledding. If you want to bring your family together for fun and relaxation, Sundance Ridge is your place! Thanks again!

The home was spacious and beautiful! Was well equipped with everything you needed, and all of us enjoyed it so much. Only complaint is there are no blinds on the windows, and felt they were needed especially in the master suite and bath. Would definitely stay there again if in the area.

Perfect Location, Beautiful Lodge
Our family of 7 spent four days in August 2018 at the lodge. It’s an ideal location near hikes and downtown Main Street Wellsboro. We were pleasantly surprised that the property manager showed us the house. There was charming bear themed house decor. It has a spacious kitchen and bar stools, the open floor plan was a big highlight of this lodge. Another benefit was that the grill had extra propane if we needed it. The spacious master bedroom suite with walk-in closet, sitting area and walk out deck (connects to deck which is accessed from kitchen) was very comfortable. We also loved the huge dining table which seats 12! It was nice having paper towels and a few extra supplies (we’re not sure if these were left by previous guests.) Although we know the price was reasonable, we noted a few aspects which could use attention. As with anyplace in this area, there were numerous bugs and the flies. These were especially bothersome inside when we used the kitchen and dining area to prepare and eat food. The outdoor fire pit was full of trash. The A/C did not work great on hot days on the main level and takes a long to cool — plus we couldn’t change the thermostat ourselves. The decks are lovely but the deck furniture was water logged and couldn’t be used. As others have stated, the downstairs has an odor. Despite these areas for improvement, we enjoyed our stay. The property manager and owner were great. We would recommend this lodge to others.

Beautiful rustic house close to Wellsboro and the Grand Canyon
7 bedrooms in a beautiful setting of trees and fields. It is a very quiet location about 5 minutes from Wellsboro, 10 min to Weiss grocery, about 15 minutes to the state park. The interior of the house is very charming with exposed timber, large stone fireplace (not allowed to use), large common area and lots of seating inside and out. Two sofas in the common area but these are dated and worn out--not comfortable. There is a large full kitchen upstairs and a full kitchen downstairs. Plenty of pots, plans, glasses, plates, silverware etc. Coffeemaker is the old fashion kind (use coffee grounds, but they had some paper filters in the cupboard. Plenty of spices in the cupboards and plenty of paper products in the house. Large dining table. Although the vrbo site lists the house as "air conditioned," it is not. 2 of the bedrooms have a window a/c unit, the master has a floor ac unit (but the back is vented into the room, the living room had one floor ac unit). These units together are very noisy and are inadequate to keep the common areas cool; thus the dining/living areas were uncomfortably hot much of the time. Even the master bedroom was too hot. If you open the windows (and if temps are low enough) you can get a cool breeze but given the high humidity it makes for a very sticky sleeping environment. 4 of the bedrooms are in the basement which has a bad odor of dampness. There is one dehumidifier in the basement but it fill up in less than 12 hours. The place really needs multiple units or a very large dehumidifier. There is a nice yard surrounded by trees. There is a fire ring in the yard. Nice deck with seating and nice grill. Nice big pond nearby but you are not allowed to use it. Wifi is very spotty: at times it works well at other times there is no wireless signal at all Multiple TVs/service. Master bedroom has windows above the bed and in the adjacent sitting area--but no blinds or curtains! Not appreciated for anyone wishing to sleep past sunrise. No blinds/curtains adjacent to the master toilet/shower. Odd. Master bath is good size with double sinks, shower and bathtub Two sets of washer/dryer Property manager was very friendly--texted me to confirm arrival time, texted mid-week to check on us and texted me on departure date. She met us at the property our first day: oriented us, gave us a tour and gave us the keys.

This is a beautiful and unique home.
We had a very nice time at the lodge in Wellsboro. The home is so unique and offered plenty of space for our family. We especially liked the large kitchen and seating to accommodate our meals together. I gave a 4 star due to these two things, We were a little disappointed when we arrived to find we couldn't get in until after 4:30. We understand things come up, but would have liked to know ahead of time. We all had to drive back to town to pass some time. The basement had a damp mildew odor. We emptied and ran the dehumidifer and there was some improvement. Other than these, the location was ideal, only a few miles to town and the trails and overall enjoyed it. Outstanding HOME AWAY FROM HOME!
This Lodge is amazing. Our family; eight adults and six children and two dogs, had a wonderful family get together. The place is huge, has everything you need, the surrounding grounds are beautiful and is perfect for family and/or friends to gather. The owner, Richard, was very accommodating before we even got there. I sent many messages inquiring about this and that, and he was very prompt, answering me. We were greeted by the contact person, Ted, and he gave us a little 'orientation'. Everything was in tip top shape and ready for our gang. The living space is humongous, as is the kitchen and the outside decks. There's a master suite on main level, with sitting room and full bath. Plus, there's a loft with a sitting area, two bedrooms and a full bath. And that's not all! On the lower level, there's another kitchen, a living room, four bedrooms, and two full bathrooms! Lordy! There's a wonderful fireplace on one of the decks and a gas grill on another. Plus, a fire pit in the back yard. You have to see it to believe it. We did some hiking, walked around the town, but mostly just enjoyed being in and around the Lodge, playing outdoor and indoor games. We had such a great time. Thank you, Richard, for building this 'one of kind' vacation home. We loved it! Hope to return with some 'new' people. Thanks again for everything! Nancy B.
