Great stay!
Very pleasant and helpful staff, wonderful breakfast and an awesome whirlpool. The rooms and the hotel itself were nice and clean also.

Highly recommend
We lived here for one night of last weekend. Several minutes drive from Munising town center. The staff were very nice. They gave us lots of advice of restaurant nearby and points of interest we could go even we had limited mount of time.

Our stay was wonderful. Check in was easy, and staff was nice, and informative. Room was clean, and nice. Would stay there again.

Good Value
We stayed here during our trip to Pictured Rocks. The rooms are basic but clean and comfortable. The ladies at the front desk were very friendly and helpful. There aren't a lot of hotel choices in Munising, but we were fine with our stay here.

Einfaches Hotel gut für eine Zwischenübernachtung
Sehr großes Zimmer. Kein Fahrstuhl. Zimmer sauber, Fenster jedoch sehr dreckig. Frühstück ist ok. Für eine Nacht in Pictures Rocks ist das Hotel ausreichend.
Hi thank you for your review. Our windows are not dirty , those are metal screens and the glassss got reuined you cant get it off it like scratched in .. We are getting new windows this spring.

Updated and comfortable
The room and the hotel seemed updated. There isn't much around but it was clean and comfortable. Perfect for what we needed for the local hiking.

adequate but overpriced
No elevator to 2nd floor (no big deal but a bit awkward getting bags up the stairs), complementary breakfast fair- good assortment but food stale or left in heaters too long. Take your own toiletries- foaming body/shampoo thing was more air than soap- for the price of the room I would have expected little bottles of things like in most hotels. Very clean though and just minutes from downtown Munising attractions.

A wonderful stay at the Magnuson hotel
We had a wonderful 3 nights stay at the Magnuson hotel. The mattress was superb. The breakfast very rich , much more to eat than other hotels we were staying in, there was even popcorn machine with warm popcorn all day long. The staff was very helpful and the room very clean.

Very happy
I was very happy with this motel. First, it was spotlessly clean. The room itself seemed to be renovated recently and there was not a flaw anywhere; carpet, walls, or bathroom. The bed was very nice and there was a recliner chair also. I also loved the refrigerator with a freezer. The front desk people were very friendly and gave good local advice. The breakfast was slightly above typical of a hotel at this level with a couple hot items (scrambled eggs, sausage / gravy). The only negative for me was the location, they are too far out of Munising to walk, you have to drive to everything....however there is a large Holiday service station / convenience store right next door which is nice; you can get a hot dog there.

Comfortable hotel right on the highway
A comfortable night's stay on a two-day road trip. Friendly and engaging front desk. Recommended a pizza place that delivered to our room. Thick carpeting made it feel cozy & quiet. Breakfast was a pleasant surprise (better than expected).

This hotel was just outside of Munising and other places we wanted to see .The hot breakfast was great but could have been changed out every other day as the food was the same each day. Staff were very helpful and courteous. Hot tub was an added pleasure as well !!

The bottom of the tub was grey/dirty. Tiny sink area, couldn't hold 1 toiletry kit, let alone both mine and my husband's. Nice to have a refrigerator in the room, but only microwave was downstairs. Very basic motel, no great shakes, but it just didn't feel very clean. I wouldn't stay here again since there are other options closer to town.

Accommodations
The hotel was located a couple miles east of Munising, Michigan on Hwy. 28. We had a second floor room, which had I known they didn't have a elevator I would have booked a 1st floor room, as we had to carry all our luggage upstairs, and I had a sore leg. Otherwise it's a great hotel. Had choice of hot and/or cold breakfast 6:30-9:30 every morning. Room service every day which was excellent.

Plumbing need pressure balance almost burned myself in the shower, towels needed replacing, whirlpool had way too much chlorine and the sauna was way too hot at 220 degrees.

A nice place to sleep while visiting the Picture National Seashore. Pleasant rooms. A little up tight / hyper punctual with the breakfast room n returning the keycards to the front desk.

Older hotel, needs updating. Room smelled like smoke despite being non smoking facility. Right by the highway so very noisy. Very expensive for what you get.

Pleasant surprise.
Overall we had a pleasant and comfortable stay. The only negative was the evening desk clerk. We bought cheese and crackers at the store but didn't have a knife. Asked the desk clerk if I could borrow a knife from the kitchen. She reacted as though I just asked her to cook me seven course meal. After her grousing about just finishing the dishes she managed to come up with a plastic knife. Thanks for your trouble.

we booked for first floor room and when we checked in they did not have a first floor room and our room was not ready. This an hour after check in

Disappointed
Asked for 1st floor when I made the reservation on-line,but got 2nd floor. Arrived at 1:55 PM ( check in was 2:00 ), but WHEN I ASKED WAS I GETTING THE 1ST FLOOR, I WAS TOLD OTHERS WHO CHECKED IN BEFORE US GOT THAT. If that is how you do business, I sure won't recommend!

Loved it!
It was our 5th hotel of the week on our road trip. So clean, quiet and friendly. They were genuine and down to earth! Personal touches through out the place. And an outstanding breakfast.

Good place for short stay
I stayed overnight there. The room is OK for short stay, the furniture and bathroom looked a bit dated but were in good workable order. I think the most negative experience was a breakfast. But it is not a big deal as there are plenty of places to have a breakfast in Munising.

Best Bed. Ever.
I do not know if it's because I had just backpacked for five days at Isle Royale National Park, BUT this hotel had THE MOST COMFORTABLE BED I HAVE EVER SLEPT IN!!! The bed was divine and as I laid my weary head on the pillow, I almost welled up with tears, for I was so grateful to be laying on this wonderful king-sized cloud. I slept more soundly than I have in months. Aside from the bed, our stay was a total of nine hours, the reception clerk was friendly and welcoming. It was great.

A Reasonable Room in the UP
Decided to stay here during a Memorial Day weekend trip up to Pictured Rocks National Lakeshore. The location appears to be a renovated Super 8 or something along those lines. The location is about 3-4 miles out from the sites of Munising but it is convenient enough, right off of a main road leading into town. Service was satisfactory but not exactly all smiles. The room was dimly lit but comfortable. We found some leftover food from a prior guest in the freezer in the room, but that was the only oversight noted. We didn't partake, but breakfast looked to be standard continental fare with waffle makers, cereal, coffee, juice, and pastries. If in the area again, I would probably try another location for lodging, but wouldn't hesitate to stay here again.

Lake Superior Circle Tour
We stayed here when we were on our Lake Superior Circle your. Hotel was in an easy location to get around. Was clean. Staff was pleasant. It was more expensive compared to other hotels we stayed at on our trip that were comparable to this one.

Great place to relax after a Pictured Rocks hike
Clean room, nice breakfast spread, reasonable price. The hotel is a few miles away from town with few nearby amenities, but all in all, a nice stay.

Nice and close to the city
The best thing about this hotel is that it right next to a gas station which is a great thing in the U.P. besides Munising is a small city and this hotel is 2 miles or so away from the "downtown".
