Truly awesome surroundings in a picturesque part of Western Cape. Very lush greenery, quiet retreat not far from shopping malls, mountains, the sea and even reptile park! Bedroom and bathroom sizes are the biggest I have ever seen. Lots of sockets for gadgets, thoughtful torch in case of power cuts, swimming pool and space to play around at the back! I hope to return for longer!

Last minute choice but very nice hotel. Very secluded, had all the necessary amenities and very nice staff.

Far hills is far from a great lodge. Outdated
The hotel has so much potential yet it misses the mark. The main room door looks like someone tried to break in . The patio door didn't lock. Outdated decor. Very poor tv signal. Paint drippings on the bath and toilet. Carpets need a good clean. Not worth the spend.

Far Hills Hotel
Huge comfortable suite room with balcony and view. Large bathroom with bath and shower. Room has fridge, coffee facilities, tv with choice of channels. Rooms feel private and safe. Bar Restaurant sold excellent bottle of wine at give-away price. Our included breakfast had massive choice. We had the full cooked farmhouse, and then I also had the fruit and yogurt etc because it looked delicious. Hotel easy to find (well sign-posted). Highly recommended. It's great to book something at a good price on ebookers, and arrive and find such a great hotel. Exceeded our expectations.

Disappointed...
I cannot believe that this hotel was advertised as a 4 star hotel with very deseptive photos. Ratings agency should do their jobs properly.

No wifi in rooms, hotel very run down, dinner left much to be desired. The staff were lovely though & very helpful. It could be such a great place as it is perfectly situated for exploring the garden route, but unfortunately it needs a serious revamp.

Avoid at all cost
Far Hills "Hotel" (I have stayed in better school boarding houses) is an absolute dump and I cannot recommend, strongly enough, that everybody that calls themselves human beings, AVOIDS this place at all costs. The room was dark (only 1 light at the entrance) and the television did not work and there wasn't even a TV remote control. The toilet was leaking and the underside of the seat was "caked" with old dirt (and who knows what else). There were loose, open wires hanging out of the wall and several different wires were connected to 1 plug. This is not safe and this place should be shut down as it is a fire hazard. I asked for another room, but was told they were full and that they would refund my money. The "management" were not very accommodating or understanding that we had just driven all the way from Cape Town and were tired.I took my refund, my wife, and drove as fast as I could to the Town Lodge at George Mall, where we had the most amazing experience. On a scale of 1 - 10, I would rate this place (I hesitate to call it an hotel) a NEGATIVE 10 (-10)

Avoid - much better choices out there for the cost
Big plus of this hotel are the fabulous views. The rest, unfortunately, is decidedly average. The scarcely functional TV, the very limited wifi, the dated decor, the stained carpets, the non-existent room facilities of any kind (no fridge, no cutlery, not even any tea) and the rubbishy food that doesn't match the menu descriptions was topped off during our stay by waking up to no running water and no toilet facilities. It turned out the whole hotel had no water - and there followed an odd stand off between the local municipality water providers and hotel managers. Over a bemused hour I watched as hotel managers claimed one minute there were engineers on the way to fix the problem, while others denied this; one manager even walked passed me muttering that the water providers had cut off the water supply because of unpaid bills (!), a situation I would not normally believe but the shabbiness of the rest of the hotel made it quite believable. While the majority of staff tried their best to calm and show understanding towards understandably unhappy guests, I also watched with amazement as one hotel manager unbelievably rounded on one guest for complaining as it was, apparently, not the hotel's fault but the water company. Avoid, like the plague. There are far better options out there.

Sehr enttäuschend
Klima funktionierte nicht, kein warmes/heisses Wasser in Dusche, kein Wasserkocher und Föhn wie angekündigt im Zimmer, wir waren 3 Personen, hatten aber nur zwei Decken - auf Anfrage hiess es, das Hotel sei voll, man habe keine Vorrätige. Wöan auf Bezahlung, was sogar in einem Backpacker inbegriffen ist, Interieur hat schon bessere Zeiten gesehen, Frühstücksbuffet lässt zu wünschen übrig - zB Milch/heisse Schockolade muss man selber berappen. Service unfreundlich, resp. Personal wirkt wie eingeschüchtert. Pool dreckig! Für den Preis den man bezahlt (südafrikanische Verhältnisse) ist es teuer für das was man kriegt. Da haben wir für vieles viel weniger bezahlt und einiges mehr bekommen.

Breath Taking
We went for a 3 day business trip to George, and we thoroughly enjoyed our stay at the Hotel. Rooms were clean comfortable. The setting breath taking and the staff friendly and helpful. I can definitely recommend.

Peaceful Stay
Had a peaceful stay. No hot water in shower, no keys for the safe in the room, no remote for the TV and it needs to be clearly stated that there are no fridges in the standard rooms. Breakfast on Saturday was good but on Sunday it was poor.

We have stayed at Farhills Hotel before and there is a vast improvement in the staff to customer relation. The food is also very much improved.Our only complaint is the television reception is poor.

Verkehrsgünstig und trotzdem ruhig gelegen
Das Hotel liegt verkehrsgünstig an der N2. Das Hotel liegt auf einem Hügel und unser Zimmer war dadurch trotz Nähe zur Straße (200-300 m) sehr ruhig. Das im Preis inkludierte Frühstück ist reichhaltig.

Not overly impressed
The hotel has a beautiful driveway, but that's where it ends, the staff on arrival were not very interested or well trained, the general decor or the hotel and rooms is just dated, really needs updating. When I booked the room it said it would have a fridge and dvd player, neither were in room. shower water would not drain properly, the list goes on. I'll be honest, the place has potential, but it needs investment and a big overhaul to get it back to a decent standard.

Far Hill Hotel stay over
Experienced problem with quality of service.There was no milk provided for tea. I requested for milk and bed sheets, promised but did not get. I went and fetched it myself thenext day. The bed sheets did not come at all. The lock on the sliding door was broken, which made us feel a bit unsafe. The swimming pool was beautiful, which we enjoyed.There was a tabkle tennis board available, but there was no ball to play with. This room was not clean. The breakfast was great.

Beautiful green location on N2 right near hwy 9
Good location if you are wanting to head up to oudshoorn for a day. Hotel is on it's own, but has a great pizza place, and pub area. Good value for money. Hotel is a little older, but rooms are big. Facing beautiful rolling green hills

poor service from the minute we entered the premises. Staff not helpful and place is seriously understaffed. Facilities and rooms in a state of disrepair. Broken lamp shades and dirty bedding are some of the things you will encounter on your stay.

Good for 1 night.
For the price of ZAR 550 it's ok. The comfort is poor. It has a nice backyard and for a 1-day stay it's all ok. The pizza is nice. But the rooms need to be refurbished, the service could be better.

Advert of the Far Hills Hotel is misleading
When booking, facilties included a refridgerator which was not included in that room. Upon arrival at 15:30 the room was not ready. The room allocated had a drain smell and i had to be relocated to another room which also was not ready. The price advertised was supposed to have been at a reduced price which from the condition of the room is the normal price and is misleading. At 08:25 there was no bacon with my eggs now what hotel has no bacon for breakfast unless it caters strictly for muslims. The hotel advertised free wifi but does not state only in certain areas creating an impression of 100% coverage which was not the case. And dont speak of the cockcraches. I can live with all of the above except the coakcroaches. The Far Hills hotels will never see me and my family again.
