What a "Cool" Cottage!
The Red Dog Cottage is absolutely amazing! By far the nicest and best kept VRBO that we have ever stayed at. It had everything that we needed for our riding trip and is in a great location for single track riders. The hot tub was a wonderful surprise and very relaxing after a long day of riding. The Cool's are wonderful hosts! We appreciated the pre-arrival call and all of the information they provided. Their attention to detail, design, and the work put into the property is quite impressive.

The property continues getting better!
This is my third time staying on the property. We prefer the cottage over the chalet if you can pay more. We like the extra space and primary bedroom on first floor. Both properties got a new addition (hot tub)! The property also got more swings and a jumbo net. This is a beautiful sanctuary. Your cars and atv are extra safe here. The host couple is amazing. You will feel true southern hospitality from them.

The perfect cottage!
My wife and I stayed at the Red Dog Cottage for our wedding anniversary trip. The cottage and surrounding property were beautiful and meticulously cleaned and groomed. My wife and I enjoy riding ATVs and this location was perfect for that, being only .5 mile from the Hatfield McCoy trail entrance. The property owners are wonderful people and the love they have poured into this property is immediately evident the minute you set foot on it.

Little Slice of "Heaven"
My husband and I thoroughly enjoyed our stay here. We came down to ride the trails but from the moment I booked this reservation, I couldn't wait to see the cottage in person. It didn't disappoint! You can tell the owners put a lot of thought and heart into this place. It's feels like home away from home. Loved!

Our stay at the Red Dog Cottage was the West Virginia getaway we were looking for! It was easy to access the Hatfield and McCoy trail system. Shawn and Tonya are lovely and their hospitality is remarkable. We plan to return in future!

A true gem on Appalachian trail.
We loved our experience on this gorgeous property. I grew up in the area and wanted to experience the area as a tourist. This property was unlike the other properties in the area. It had a charming home feel. It didn’t target the muddy boy vibe for “roughing it”. My husband also enjoyed the ambiance of it all. Loved it

Weekend Getaway
We had the pleasure of staying at Red Dog Cottage while visiting the Williamson/Pikeville area. The cottage was even more special than the photos. Every detail was thought out to the T. We enjoyed sitting on the porch rockers and listening to sounds of the creek. While there, we had a chance to me the owners (The Cools), a wonderful couple who have poured their hearts into the property. We truly can recommend the Red Dog Cottage enough!

Wonderful!
This cottage offers fine craftsmanship and beautiful decor! Very well executed, clean, and cozy. A true retreat. Hosts were welcoming and extremely helpful, especially since we have never visited the area. Our 10 year old boys LOVED the spiral staircase and loft area. Convenient location and a short ride to the trailhead. Highly recommend!

A beautiful property very clost to the trailhead
This property was very conveniently located to the trailhead. The host went above and beyond to accommodate and assist us when we had issues with one UTV. We enjoyed our stay.

Gorgeous and Serene property!
This is our second time renting this property this year! It’s that good! We love to ride the Hatfield McCoy trails, but also want a relaxing and clean place to stay. This property has it all! Easy trail access, but a luxurious, simplistic and beautiful aura. It’s naturalistic setting makes it feel secluded and tucked away in the woods. The sound of the creek and the wildlife in the trees complete the property. Traffic is extremely light and the community is so quiet, which made sitting on the porch to read a book by the flowing creek simply amazing! The cottage has so much charm included with all its necessities, as you can see in the listing. The Cool’s are the most caring and detail oriented rental owners. I highly recommend you to book now! You will not regret it!

Perfect!
We came to town for the trails and stayed at The Red Dog Cottage. It might be even more beautiful in person than in the pictures. Shawn and Tonya might be the Chip and Joanna Gaines of West Virginia! Based on the photos I did think we would be more secluded than we were but that’s ok. Shawn and Tonya were super friendly, made sure we were able to find the place and offered suggestions on things to do/places to see etc. Traveling with kids, it would have been nice to have more than a dorm sized refrigerator, but we made do. Very convenient location to get on/off trails, with a large enough driveway we could park the truck/trailer and take the side by side wherever we wanted to go. I would definitely stay again and would refer friends and family as well! What could make it even better? Assess to a grill!

Absolutely amazing
The property was clean and very well taken care of. The location is excellent for hitting the Hatfield and McCoy trails as is only a mile or so away from this property. The Host is very communitive and accommodation. I would stay here again.

Charming Cottage
This was by far our best experience renting places. The Red Dog Cottage is absolutely the cutest place we have ever stayed and far more beautiful in person. The hosts, Shawn and Tonya are the kindest hosts ever, even left a personalized welcome sign and left the lights on for our late arrival. The trail system is less than 3 minutes away, making it almost direct access. We drove the toys into Williamson, Delbarton, and Matewan on the trail system. Loved everything about the location, even had food delivery options. Simply the best for riding the trails, or just relaxing and enjoying the sound of the creek and birds from any of the porches!!

Amazing!!
This cottage is amazing and very nice! Owners are very friendly and helpful. You’ve got to check out the outdoor shower (just because). Beds are perfect. Very peaceful and quiet. Parking was perfect for a truck and trailer. Highly recommend for Hatfield-Mccoy trail riders.

Breath of fresh air
Everything was perfect. From the personalized welcome sign to the plush robes in the shower. Plenty of covered porch to sit and read the day away. Very close to two trail heads on the Hatfield McCoy trails. The property owners are the nicest down to earth people in the vrbo universe. We will without a doubt be returning in the fall.

Absolutely the best!
What a beautiful cottage! We enjoyed our stay so very much. Comfy bed. Fantastic amenities. Close to trail heads for Buffalo mountain! Close enough to downtown we could ride our ATVS 15 mins or so to get food. Tonya and Shawn’s hospitality is top notch! You will not regret staying at the Red Dog Cottage in Williamson WV!
