“Quiet classy residence in an ideal location”

This appears to be less of a hotel and more of a series of serviced apartments. They provide a 'welcome pack' of tea and coffee but that is not replenished during your stay. Neither is the soap and shampoo sachets in the bathrooms. So after a couple of days you will need to get small supplies of these items. Also, if you wish to make full use of the kitchen facilities there will be an extra charge. However, the staff / management are most welcoming and knowledgeable about Venice. The location, on a private spur of canal walkway in the centre of the St. Marco area, could scarcely be bettered. The residence is quiet and elegant with beautifully furnished apartments. We would not see the need to look anywhere else for our accommodation on any future trips to Venice.

“Highly recommend!”

Although initially a bit difficult to find, it is well worth the effort! Once you get your bearings, the location is phenomenal. While only a 2 minute stroll to St. Mark's Square and only a few minutes to Rialto; the hotel is tucked away from the hustle/bustle of the crowds. Enjoyed hearing the gondoliers singing as they float along the canal beside the hotel. As an aparthotel, the rooms are quite large and include a full kitchen; sleeper sofa; table and chairs; a separate bath and good size bedroom. The building and room were spotless and thoroughly cleaned each day, including dirty dishes left in the sink! The hotel staff are incredibly kind and helpful, creating the feeling more of a B&B, rather than an impersonal hotel. Although November is typically the wettest month of the year, we were fortunate to have nothing but brilliant blue skies. Visiting in the off-season meant fewer crowds compared to the popular warm weather months. While turned out great for us, we came prepared for rain. We were hoping to find a special place to celebrate our 25th wedding anniversary and found it in Venice and Corte Grimani! Would highly recommend and can't wait to go back.

“Beautiful hidden gem in the centre of Venice”

We stayed for a short week for our wedding anniversary, but have been before so know the area. The hotel is approx. mid distance between Rialto and St Marks, but tucked just back from the beaten track so quieter. Modern spacious light and airy rooms combined with a very high standard of cleaniness. All the staff were impecably mannered, helpful and friendly. Some will say a bit expensive but you pay for what you get and most people know Italy and especially Venice is expensive so in context and with what you get/experience the hotel was good value. If we had a complaint the bath was small! but that really is as bad as it got! Book with confidence you will enjoy your stay.

“Spacious Hotel in Venice”

Residence Corte Grimani is not only spacious, but a great value too. The location is on the canal and only a short distance from St. Mark's square. Our room was beautiful and very clean. We bought breakfast from a nearby bakery every morning and ate at our kitchen table and the refrigerator came in very handy as well. The hotel staff was helpful and extremely friendly. There was also plenty of storage space for our clothes unlike other places we have stayed in Europe. I would definitely recommend this place to anyone, particularly families traveling to Venice.

“Magnificent”

Lovely hotel and fantastic value, we will definitely use it again. The location really couldn't be better. The main tourist sites are all within a couple of minutes walk and there are a number of shops close by where you can buy fresh food to eat in the apartment. The staff were friendly and very helpful, all spoke English and were happy to offer local advice. The apartment was large, comfortable and cleaned daily.

“Perfect Loaction”

We loved our stay at the Residence Corte Grimani. As a family of 5 (2 teenage daughters and a six year old) we found the apartment to be very spacious and luxurious. It was on the expensive side but most are in Venice and it was well worth it. The location was great being only a few minutes walk from St Mark's in one direction or the Rialto Bridge in the other. It cost extra to use the stove/oven and washing machine but given we had access to a keetle and microwave for free this didn't concern us. Free internet access in the lobby was a plus for the teenagers. The managers were very helpful with bookings and recommending great restaurants. We would definitely recommend this hotel!

“A "pinch yourself" holiday.”

We suspected that finding the hotel might not be straight-forward so invested in a taxi from the airport. As it was high water, the taxi could not negotiate the small canals but laid on an off-duty tour guide who walked us the short distance to the hotel. Without that I think we would still be looking for the front door. GET A VERY GOOD MAP!!! The hotel was astonishingly good (4 good sized rooms), clean, efficient, helpful and pleasant staff. Very few mozzies around in October but one still found me tasty. Venice is (and always will be) incredibly busy. We'd recommend briefly experiencing St Marks Square and spending lots of money but then get away to the other areas to eat, drink and people watch. The shops on the far side (West) of the Rialto seemed cheaper as well. Early mornings are reasonably quiet. Take good shoes - you'll be walking on cobbles for hours and hours. It's weird not to have ANY traffic. You'll get lost ... all the time ... but don't worry. It's an island and you can't get off easily. Our overall 4-day experience was magical. A place everyone should experience at some time.
