“We thoroughly enjoyed our stay at The Sleeping Dog. The room was a good size and all the beds were new and comfortable. The kitchen was large and clean and perfect for self catering and there was a nice area to eat or chill. Breakfast pancakes went down a treat and the management and staff were all friendly and helpful. We really enjoyed our stay here and would recommend to all.”

“Any place on the beach is going to have a great feeling. The air, sound of the waves, and relaxing atmosphere are soothing. This place puts you there. The staff was super friendly and helpful. The food was good but not great. The room was comfortable, clean, quaint, and functional with the amenities you’d expect at a hotel. ”

“My friend and I had a fantastic stay at this hotel. The room was clean and comfortable. The air conditioner worked great. It has a cute courtyard with a small pool, hammock, and plants. We felt safe there as there is a large door that is locked to the entrance to the street. The staff helped us get taxis and a shuttle from the airport. Walkable distance to the restaurants. There are bikes on property that makes it even easier to get around. ”

“If you are a backpacker this might be okay for you, but was bad for us. The rooms are extremely hot with no AC and a small fan that does nothing. Leon is the hottest city in the country, and also breakfast was not included in room price. Cannot recommend, although staff seemed friendly and location was good.”

“Mariposa ligt een stuk van t centrum af wat heel prima te doen is met een taxi. Personeel is heel behulpzaam. Huisje was heel netjes, leuk met buitendouche. Werden alleen flink wakker gehouden door brullende kikkers. Het zal wel paarseizoen zijn geweest ;) het eten is aan de prijzige kant, niet heel fantastisch maar prima.”

“Presentable rooms. Nothing fancy but the price is right. I could hear the TV playing loudly in the adjacent room but they turned it off at 10 pm. Air conditioning works. Breakfast included. Can’t complain. ”

“I booked this place through Booking. Save $10 by showing up in person. I reserved the room for two people and then one of the girl’s friends showed up for a visit. Neither girl stayed the night but I was charged an extra $15 on top of the already over-priced room. The owners watched carefully and even knocked on my room door at one point to tell me that I was not allowed visitors. The hotels in also about 3 miles outside of the downtown area.
