“Front desk extremely helpful. Arrived very early so our luggage was stored then delivered to our room once the troop was ready. We liked the design of the renovation. Many of the old features were left such as the iron windows, gorgeous brass front door. The interior wood panelling has been painted white which made the place bright and contemporary looking. We found the beds a bit too soft. Would appreciate some basic toiletries. ”

“Cannot stress enough how UNBELIEVABLY friendly AND efficient owner Eddie is...he replied instantly to my WhatsApp after 5pm, was involved, helpful and polite and answered every question without bitterness, resentment or impatience. This is a FAR cry from what passes for "customer so-called service" in this city. But my best part was seeing him outside the venue on arrival..he was waiting for my Uber!! And he didn't flinch to help with luggage...room was perfectly acceptable with a fan(yay!),...

“firstly communication was not clear because when I get the guesthouse the person who was assisting me told me that I'm supposed to be in Strand but the direction that I got was for Somerset. “I was deeply disappointed and upset to discover that the 9 Barracks Hotel in Cape Town, South Africa, prohibits guests from visiting my room after 8pm. Before making my reservation, I carefully reviewed the house rules and terms and conditions, yet there was no mention of this restriction. Had I known, I certainly would not have booked.
