“What a charming hostess was Joan & her entire staff. Daniels cooking was superb & under not the easiest of conditions.We felt very close to nature here.Having booked through Expedia we had no tour operators & so did all our liaison with the lodge re transfer from Kisoro air strip & back, Gorilla permits, village tours etc. Joan we will never forget you & your beautiful family.My wife cried with emotion when she saw the Gorillas. “The place is very nice and clean, however we felt a little bit scammed for the price of the food which is over European standard. They only have one choice and asked 20$ for it and you really don’t have other options in the area. They let you pay also the water…the road to come is very bad also. I’d not stay again”

“Il Lodge è in una bellissima posizione, con vista splendida sul lago, molto belle le parti comuni in stile coloniale. Le camere standard decisamente basiche, molto meglio i family cottage. Infatti ce le siamo fatte cambiare! Buono il ristorante x cena e colazione, anche se devi ordinare con gran anticipo, nonostante fossimo gli unici clienti! Purtroppo essendo un eco lodge, scarsa illuminazione in camera, acqua appena tiepida e impossibilità di caricare tutti gli apparecchi elettronici, ma...

“Hotel was nice enough but extremely hard to get to. It is the rainy season in Uganda and the dirt roads were tough. Also to get to the hotel you have to climb a lot of stairs so not for anyone who has mobility issues. Final note they had removed all mosquito nets we think a bit prematurely ”

Some of the world’s only tree climbing lions can be found in Uganda, and we had the luck to experience it first hand! We saw this other 4x4 that had stopped to look at something so we approached it slowly and saw that there were a bunch of lions laying around in the high grass. The other guys told us they had been looking for a while but there was no activity, so they left. But we stayed, because we saw that there was a perfectly fine looking fig tree (the preferred kind of tree for tree climbing lions) just a short distance away. And what do you know – after a while they got up, stretched their legs, walked slowly up to the tree, and climbed up, one by one. So awesome! 😻 #nature #uganda #africa #safari #lions #ishasha
