Landmark Lakehouse - luxury living in PLX!

Summary:
Once you settle in at the Landmark Lakehouse you're never going to want to leave! After a day on the lake, including kayaking from our private kayak launch, you can spend the evening fireside watching the stars from the stunning paved patio or relax inside with a movie on the big cozy couch. The next morning you'll wake from a great night of sleep on the luxurious beds to views of a stunning sunrise over the lake ready to do it all again.

The Space:
The historic Landmark Lakehouse, formerly an old shop back in the day, has been tastefully restored into a spacious and modern lakeside retreat perfect for your large family or group getaway. With four large bedrooms and spacious kitchen and living spaces you will all have more than enough room to stretch out, relax, and enjoy your lake escape.

The highlight is definitely our outdoor patio and private dock! We do offer a few kayaks for you to use during your stay. This is the ideal spot for those looking to enjoy the beautiful outdoor scenery around Portage Lakes!

The Neighborhood:
Portage Lakes (PLX to the locals) is a vibrant lake community (spanning 14 lakes and reservoirs) with a great mix of full-time residents and seasonal vacationers who all have one thing in common: we love life on the lakes! There are TONS of awesome bars and restaurants dotting the shores, along with all sorts of lake activities to keep you entertained for a weekend or a month.

Other Things to Note:
Early Check in & Late Check out: At this time we cannot accommodate late checkouts or early check ins due to the time it takes to prepare the house for the next guests. Thank you for understanding! We do offer bag drop option if you need it!

Driveway parking for up to 4 cars.

Please note - If you book in the winter months, our driveway is very steep and could be difficult to navigate if there is ice/snow and you do not have a 4WD vehicle.

Great location and beautiful view. Several good food options are in close proximity as well. The home was clean, decorated well, and smelled nice. The furniture and beds were comfortable as well.

Lovely waterfront property

The property was lovely and right next to the water, but also right next to a busy road. This only impacted one person in our party as the room was next to said road. We had a great time overall, but it could have been cleaner. There were over 30 dead flies in various doors and windows throughout as well as a couple of live ones. The owner tried to address with their cleaning service while were there, but we came back to mostly the same scenario.

Live ANIMAL in wall. Inadequate. NOT luxury.

We booked this rental on Portage Lakes for a family funeral trip. Unfortunately, the condition of the property did not meet our expectations and created significant stress during a time when we should’ve been mourning w/family.We were alarmed to arrive with a LIVE, LARGE animal living in the wall/ceiling and spent 2 days with pest control knocking on the door and trying to figure out how to remove it. Along with the animal, there were dead bugs and live spiders throughout the home; especially in the corners, windowsills, even on the curtains. The kitchen was inadequately stocked with only three forks for our family of five, making meals challenging.Additionally, we were unpleasantly surprised to find a pair of dirty shorts under the master bedroom couch, and broken towel bars in the master bath.The chairs on the patio were broken, posing a dangerous situation when my handicapped mom nearly fell through one. Amongst other issues...we have stayed at much better rentals.

Beautiful, peaceful location

The host was very communicative. They were proactive confirming the booking and sending us check in and check out information on time. The home was clean, beautiful, and accurate to the listing. The bedrooms and bathrooms were clean and well kept, the kitchen was updated with new appliances, the furniture was comfortable and clean. The location is amazing, the perfect spot for a quiet time away. The road is right next to the property which means you do hear passing cars and motorcycles. The home, however, is between the main outdoor space and the road which mutes the noise. Additionally, traffic was never that bad as to be a problem. We had no problem napping lake-side and resting. I really recommend this location for anyone who wants a peaceful, quiet, and relaxing environment to stay in. That's what we were looking for and it was perfect.

March Madness

Fabulous time on the lake. We came in for the NCAA Tournament in Cleveland and were looking for a spot between Cleveland and Canton. Great location with easy access to grocery store and several restaurants. House was exactly as advertised; plenty of room and great views. Spent every morning watching ducks and geese flying in. Easy and frequent communication with host and all needs met. We would absolutely stay here again if we are in the area.

Clean and Comfortable

Great location amazing view!

Great property with amazing water views! Road was a little loud at night but property itself was well worth the inconvenience. Beds were super comfortable and property had everything we needed. Great hosts that were super responsive and accommodating. Amazing stay and we would def rent again if we are back in the area!

Perfect spot in Akron/Greater Cleveland Area

I had business in Cleveland area and I wanted to bring my family along to enjoy Ohio. We found this house on the lake and absolutely loved it. The host Mark was great regarding communication and responded very quickly. We utilized the kayaks everyday and had our coffee and wine out side on the deck. Highly recommend this home.

Great Spot on the lake with a great view.

Family and I had a great time visiting family while staying at the Landmark Lakehouse. Nice to have a cozy place to stay while so far away from home. My kids enjoyed fishing, kayaking and just hanging out. Adults enjoyed relaxing and having a fire by the lake and doing nothing. House is fully equipped for anything you need. Just bring cloths, food and drink. The rest is covered. Right off the bat there was great communication with the owner. We had a little hiccup with booking in the beginning which the owner jumped on right away and corrected. I would recommend staying here to anyone and most likely will stay again the next time we visit family in Ohio.
