“Property has very spacious rooms and well maintained. Lovely Beach location although waves rough at this time. Food overall quality, very tasty and well presented. Staff very personable ,attentive and seeking to offer service especially Assistant Manager Siri, Dilen and Nilanga.”

“Die Unterkunft ist Okay, aber 5 Sterne sehen für mich anders aus. Das Bad ist sehr steril gehalten, Anfangs hatten wir nur ein großes und ein kleines Handtuch für 2 Personen. Nach der Zimmerreinigung hatten wir dann nur noch 1 großes Handtuch. Erst auf Nachfrage haben wir überhaupt mal so viele Handtücher erhalten wie für 2 Personen vorgesehen sind. Der Balkon hatte auch schon bessere Zeiten hinter sich, der Sichtschutz ist nur noch halb vorhanden. Der Aufzug im Hotel ist sehr langsam. Ich würde...

“It was the most unpleasant stay in Sri Lanka and in general in several years traveling in Asia. The receptionist was totally unfriendly, just interested in getting us out out the hotel....and we understood why: some rooms were under renovation, so there was noise from early in the morning through the day. Nobody addressed us any excuse or recognize any kind of compensation for that. The guy at the restaurant was superb and hostyle, trying to reduce breakfast against what was our right to receive...

“This was our 2nd stay at the Asian Jewel. Our return was based on our previous experience which was lovely staff, good food, clean and spacious room. The location is out of town but was easy/cheap to get tuk tuks and being situated next to the lagoon allowed us to see lots of beautiful birds from our balcony. Would recommend and hope to return again.”

“Heel schoon en comfortabel verblijf. Hele goede wifi, en Airconditioning 2 schone zwembaden mooi aangelegde tuin. Op korte loopafstand van de hoofdweg met veel restaurants. Ontbijt beschikbaar en op zich goed.. maar traag gereserveerd en verkeerde volgorde. Eerst Fruit dan na 10 minuten het Ei, dan na 10 minuten de toast en de koffie en fruitsap pas na 40 minuten... I love to mention the manager, always there for guests, friendly, helpful and a good cook. The ocean water is very clean, the sand is soft under the feet, very good usable beach for walking, swimming, surfing...As women, we feel safe at this quiet, not crowded beach. “Potential for this property is great though it is not ideally located. Huge breakfasts that ranged from buffet to special order based on occupancy. Upkeep and maintenance is not up to western standards for a boutique hotel. No bar, no washcloths etc. An excellent and accommodating staff needs support from the management company Asia Leisure in terms of equipment and supplies.”
