Charming Chalet at Pocono Ridge

Unwind & Relax in Albrightsville at this charming chalet with the whole family. This 3 bedroom, 1.5 bathroom Pocono home is perfectly positioned in a secluded, private community in Indian Mountain lakes. The home is nestled within trees on a wooded lot, with easy spacious parking. In the summer, enjoy a cold drink on the deck while watching tv. Go for a scenic walk in the neighborhood and take in the wooded surroundings. In the winter, cozy up to the wood-burning fireplace after visiting local nearby slopes!

• 1 full size bed in one first floor bedroom.

Cute little house, would be great for a small family. We were there in November (highs in 30s) and the first floor was very cold. The split unit was set at 75 when we arrived - it was definitely that warm upstairs but downstairs was probably 60. We found a small space heater in a closet, that helped a little. Upgrade to heating (and probably A/C) needed for guest comfort. There was a fireplace but no lighter/matches or paper. Also no checkout instructions (trash, linens?).

We very much enjoyed our stay. Really loved the location. Areas to improve. Access to breaker box would have been nice. There were several outlets that were not working and we figured it to be a tripped breaker, but couldn'tfind one. Would also recommend wash rags. All we had were body and face towels. You should also fix your fireplace insert. The grate is broken and this caused it to be difficult to empty the full box of ashes. Things thatvwere positive. The fire place was absolutely wonderful. Really enjoyed the location and house. We will look forward to future retreats here.

Lovely location. Minutes from Jim Thorpe. Quiet, wooded surroundings. Clean and spacious rooms. We only stayed for one night but will keep this place in mind if we wvwr return to JT.

Host doesn’t pay attention to details. Sinks drain very slowly. Fireplace tray full and dirty. I cleaned out tray and cleaned glass so we could use it. Tried contacting Joseph several times prior and during. No response. BBQ full of grease and dirty. Small grease fire in BBQ. I bought some items to clean it so we could safely use it. House is cute and comfortable. No checkout instructions. Location was great. Super quiet and tons of wildlife.

Ooof. This place was probably nice at some stage but the owners have just given up. The place is just not clean. there was grease splattered on the cabinets, no cleaning supplies either. The grill was totally unhealthy and disgusting. the outdoor furniture was rusted and broke when my daughter climbed up a high top chair, thankfully just a scrape on rusty metal though. The outdoor table top had black paint chipping off of it with every touch, gross to eat off of for sure. Windows were uncleaned in ages and the were sticky to the touch when unlocking and opening. Sills haven't been cleaned any month recently. I sent a message to the owner saying the place was in need of love, but they didn't bother to respond. Actually, they never responded to anything, including my note when I booked it that I was looking forward to the stay. I always get an owner writing back something, "Happy to have you" etc. Nothing from this one. I realize the price is low, but unless you want to stay in a frat house I would look elsewhere.

Race weekend!

We came up for the Nascar race in June. The area is beautiful and the covered porch is almost as large as the main floor living area, which was nice for the evenings. The main complaints we had were that there was one central heating/cooling unit and no fans in the bedroom, and the grass was about mid calf high on adults, so the kids couldnt play in it. Fortunately we were mostly only there in the evenings. Also there were no check out instructions.Overall it was a nice place to stay.

It was fine

Cute house and had mostly everything we needed for one night. The beds were the only issue. Both beds were very uncomfortable and the sheets and pillow cases on the downstairs bed were ALL stained. It was unsettling to have to sleep on; thank goodness I brought a pillow.

Nice location but needs some work

Spent a quick girls getaway here. Pros: Everything was clean though the house itself needs some TLC. The location is quiet & conveniently close to Big Boulder, Lake Harmony & Jim Thorpe for outings. The living area is cozy. There are some thoughtful provisions such as firewood, coffee, soap, linens, toilet paper & shampoo.Cons: one of the bedframes is actually broken/bent with no center support so we didn't feel comfortable using it. The loft area is nice but the bed is horribly uncomfortable... Could feel every spring. The water pressure is very low. There were no instructions for heat, lights etc & couldn't find matches or a lighter to use the fireplace.Communication with the host was lacking. No welcome message. An instruction sheet or VRBO message for heating, TV, lighting, checkout process etc would be very helpful.
