Ideal for walkers and cyclists, this is a great base to stay with easy access to all this wonderful area has to offer.. 1 step to entrance.
Ground Floor:
Open plan living space.

Bedroom 1: Double (4ft 6in) Bed

Bathroom 1: Bath With Shower Over Bath, Toilet. Electric central heating, electricity, bed linen, towels and Wi-Fi included. . On road parking. No smoking.. Set midway between Alnwick, Rothbury and Wooler so ideal for exploring, Thistle Cottage, is ideal for couples, set up a quiet lane in the centre of the small village of Glanton, in the foothills of the Cheviots, in North Northumberland. With a pub and a part time village post office/shop, the village has few holiday homes so the community spirit within the area is second to none with superb views across the Vale of Whittingham, a perfect place for walkers and cyclists to visit.

Spoilt for choice with three towns all within 10 miles, Alnwick has the famous castle and water gardens, cobbled street and shops, whilst Rothbury is an upmarket little market town with lovely riverside and selection of pubs and independent shops. Wooler is a classic market town with amenities and antique shops. Situated just yards from the A697, Thistle Cottage has easy access to the road network all over this unspoilt county. The border town of Coldstream is only 24 miles where you can carry on exploring the borders of Scotland and Northumberland steeped in history, and historic ruins. Every year the Glanton Show takes place a major event attracting visitors from miles around and involves most of the village. A must to visit when you are staying in Thistle Cottage. Beach 15 miles. Shop 100 yards, pub 150 yards and restaurant 4½ miles.

Lovely property in lovely atea

Cozy but could do with some attention to details. If asking people to strip beds ensure mattress protectors are clean. It was a bit difficult to access the key box in the dark but overall a good experience

Thistle Cottage holiday

Accommodation absolutely as it stated. Outside, bench area, not very good at all. Picture on website looked much better. Just a mess. Could have put a few plants around, like next door, and the view was terrible.
