Built in an earlier era, the house reflects thoughtful craftsmanship, solid structure, and details you don’t find in newer builds. Over time, it’s been carefully refreshed to balance original character with modern comfort.

Like many older homes, it has a few quirks — light switches that don’t always follow modern logic, stairs with a bit of personality, and layouts that feel intentional rather than cookie-cutter (such as our grand historical stairway to access two bedrooms and a restroom). These details are part of what make the home unique and inviting, and clear labels and helpful notes are provided throughout to make everything easy to use. Modern comforts (all amenities and newer appliances) blended with historic charm will create a perfect space for your family to relax and enjoy your stay.

The spaces are bright, clean, and comfortable, designed for real living rather than show. You’ll find simple decor, functional rooms, and a calm, welcoming feel that makes it easy to settle in and relax. This is a home meant to be enjoyed — whether you’re visiting Alpena for a few nights or staying a bit longer.

Huron Haus comfortably accommodates a variety of sleep preferences. We’ve intentionally included a mix of mattress firmness levels and pillow options so everyone can rest well.

Two Twin Beds (second floor) – Soft to medium; comfortable and inviting
