“I would highly recommend the Beck Allans Guesthouse. The room facilities were perfect, from the cleanliness to the high quality linens & towels to the very comfortable bed! For breakfast, everything was locally sourced and the continental breakfast was excellent! Our hosts Jenny and Jim were very welcoming and friendly with lots of advice for walks and places to visit & Jenny's flapjack was a welcome treat. “had a lovely stay at the Waterwheel with my husband - an excellent guest-house right in the centre of Ambleside, but still quiet and peaceful. Our room was clean and comfortable with some nice touches such as homemade flapjacks and a glass of port. the service was fantastic and were made to feel very welcome from the moment we arrived. a parking permit for the local car park was also a great bonus. we will definitely stay again next time we are in the Lakes”

“Lovely guest house located more or less centrally between the town centre and lake Windemere with just a few minutes walk to either. The standard of accommodation was first class and the service equally as good. We were in a standard double room on the second floor with Velux windows allowing great views to the front. The road at the front of the guest house is busy and noisy at times particularly with the windows open. ”

“This was a wonderful house in a wonderful location. Almost magical-views out every window, well stocked. A virtual rabbits warren of thick walled rooms well decorated and festive for the holidays. We only wish we could have stayed longer. Loved the walking paths outside and the playground across the street. Clean and comfortable.”

“This was a lovely space for our family of 4. The kitchen was generally well-equipped. Beds were warm and comfy. Check-in and parking instructions etc were clear. It was a good base for our Lakes adventure.”
