Andy Griffith's Homeplace: Tour e Visite Guidate

Mu family and I were coming back from a roadtrip and we had been traveling for many hours. We found this hotel and decided to stay there because everybody was saying how clean this hotel was and had great reviews. When we got there, I was happy because the lobby is clean and it looks like it's in good shape, however the hotel hotel is outdated and it did not feel clean. As soon as we got there, we had a bad experience. The girl at the lobby did not even greet us and looked like she was upset that we were there. She asked me for my ID,, when I handled it to her, she didn't say thank you or anything snd started looking for my reservation. She said she found it but made us wait like five minutes while she kept looking and then put my ID on the counter. Did not even hand it in my hand. My family and I did not feel welcome. When we were walking towards our room, we started noticing that the property was a little outdated. And once in our room, we noticed the curtain was ripped, the room did not feel clean, and the toilet paper was half way used. The property needs an update. In the morning, there was so much noise that it made it impossible for us to sleep. It sounded like a construction was going on. We were only there for like 5 hours, and we're able to sleep like 2 and half. When leaving in the morning, the lady who was there was nicer. We will not be coning back to this hotel.

If a traveler is one who can appreciate wonderful history of a given area within any town, who marvels at the architecture of the early 1900's, who respects the work to refurbish and maintain a nearly 100 year old home, is charmed by the landscape and relishes calm, civility and old luxury........this is the place to stay. Sans a few quirks, we thoroughly enjoyed our stay and felt transported back to the roaring '20's. The only think they we would have liked to have enjoyed, was a breakfast vs a continental menu. We met one of the owners and he was gracious with his time and key historical notes regarding the house and previous owners.

The room was huge and we loved the bathtub! The pool was our favorite part and the fact that room service delivered drinks….awesome!
