“The house is as stylish and capacious as the booking information suggests! We made full use of the cool indoor spaces and the pool during our stay at the height of a heatwave. Macqueville and the nearby villages are very quiet and we experienced the slightly unreliable hours of the village shop and restaurant. Booking there is essential. Also a special mention for Dave who was very helpful. ”

“Marj en Bruce zijn geweldige hosts. De gîte is meer dan volledig uitgerust en ligt in een mooie, grote tuin met eigen stukje bos. Marj en Bruce zijn erg aardig en zeer attent. We voelden ons erg thuis en hebben het enorm naar onze zin gehad.Het heeft ons aan niets ontbroken.”

“We have just arrived home from the most wonderful holiday! We can only describe the gite as paradise. We were so grateful for the beautiful pool to cool off in. Christine is the perfect host in every way. Such a lovely tranquil place to relax and a beautiful area to explore. We cannot say enough good things about this property. Definitely deserves more than 10/10!”

“J'ai réservé ce cottage pour mon fils et ses 3 amis. Pat et Adrian ont été très réactifs pour répondre aux x questions que je leur ai posées avant le séjour. Les 4 garçons ont été accueillis très chaleureusement. Ils ont adoré le cottage et les divers aménagements dont la superbe piscine chauffée. Tout s'est très bien déroulé. Je recommande donc, de la part de mon fils, cette superbe location pour un séjour tranquille dans la campagne charentaise :+)”

“Le Hibou is a lovely gite in a beautiful area of rural France. The gites comfortably accommodated 6 of us. Sarah, our host, was so friendly, very helpful and served a delicious breakfast! We cannot recommend le Hibou enough- hopefully we’ll return soon. ”

“Des hôtes vraiment formidable Barbara et Kevin sont très sympathique et très accueillant. La location est vraiment très propre et décoré avec goût. La literie est incroyable (très important je trouve ) Et le petit déjeuné amène tout les matins…. Que dire de plus… Je recommande à 1000% Merci encore ”

“Nous avons passés un très bon moment en famille dans cette belle demeure en pleine nature. L'endroit est très confortable et on s'y sent vite très bien. On est au calme, on a eu de belles soirées étoilées, la proximité des chevaux apporte une certaine sérénité. Le lieu est proche des grands axes routiers sans nuisances, il est donc facile de sillonner la région. Merci à Dominique et ses filles pour leur accueil, on garde l'adresse pour un prochain séjour !”

“Where to start...what a beautiful property in an equally beautiful location. From the booking to arriving at the property lines of communication were always welcomed and help was always offered. We arrived quite late and shown into an immaculately warm and cosy gite with all the amenities you could ask for - a lovely welcome basket and a chilling bottle of Rose. We slept wonderfully in a very comfortable bed and actually only saw the gite in its splendour the following morning where we awoke to...
