“It was the most unpleasant stay in Sri Lanka and in general in several years traveling in Asia. The receptionist was totally unfriendly, just interested in getting us out out the hotel....and we understood why: some rooms were under renovation, so there was noise from early in the morning through the day. Nobody addressed us any excuse or recognize any kind of compensation for that. The guy at the restaurant was superb and hostyle, trying to reduce breakfast against what was our right to receive...

“Rooms are small, half the size of other 5 star hotels. Bathroom is tiny, hardly any space. Hot water tends to run out after 10 minutes. Very unusual for a hotel of this reputation. Expedia also promised a $50 voucher for VIP access when I purchased the room. The hotel said this was not communicated to them, and Expedia said they cannot honour after I arrived at the hotel. “Lovely quiet place with wonderful gardens and pool. Clean and large rooms, great staff, generous breakfast. Next to 3 in one spa for fabulous massage and a good coffee shop right next door. Great location. I cannot stress how lovely and accommodating staff is. ”

“An oasis of calm in the countryside! Lovely rooms, lovely pool area & a fantastic place to watch the jungle wildlife! The manager was super helpful too. The beach is a 40 min walk away, or a short tuk tuk ride. ”
