this hotel no longer exists
The hotel was blown away in a hurricane in 2018. Nothing exists except a wooden shell/ We rrived with a reservation to find there is no hotel there.

Can't rate the property because we were scheduled to stay there in the middle of January (after the devastating hurricane Michael had hit in September), and the hotel was closed. The real problem was that neither the hotel nor Expedia informed us; we had to learn that fact by checking the hotel's website. Surely, someone should be in charge or knowing that hotels are closed -- especially when they are near a devasted area.

Hotel was closed and is not open. Hotels.com sent conformation number as if the reservation was made. Beware of this could cause problems.

Oktoberfest
We spent three nights at Apalachicola Riverhouse attending the Oktoberfest. Praying for the safety of the people there. We had a great time. Hotel is older but located one block from town and it is directly on the River. Wonderful sunrises. Staff was great. It’s a great place to relax and enjoy a slower pace of life.

This is a nice quiet place to stay in a wonderful area. Very close to downtown and right on the water.

Unique location, right one the river. The building is older but nicely renovated inside and it's clean. There is a restaurant but we could not figure out when it was open. We left early for fishing and it was not open that morning before we left at 6:30.

Decided to take a last minute trip to Apalachicola with my dog. We had a wonderful stay at the Inn. Our room was surprisingly cute, the customer service was great, very pet-friendly, and they have a fantastic breakfast.

Nothing but water right out the front door. Excellent! Room was clean. Smelled a little musty, but it is a old building right over the water, its to be expected. Pictures taken right outside room door. Recommend boat ride with Capt Skip, thats him in his boat going by.

Located right on the river from your room you can watch the oyster harvesters and shrimp boats and beautiful sun rises, Excellent restaurants within walking distance. Fresh oysters, soft shell crabs (in season now), etc.

Just not a great value for the money. An old hotel that is a bit musty and in need of renovation...the room pictures are spot on. The two positives were that we only needed to spend one night but were also able to see shrimp boats come and go.

Beautiful view of the sunrise from our room. Breakfast at Caroline's was wonderful. Apalachicola is my new favorite place. We had a great weekend.

Old Florida hotel
I love this hotel. Yes, it’s older but it’s quaint and right on the river. You can sit in Adirondack chairs right outside your room and fish, watch the shrimp boats go by or sunrise and sunset. Every room is decorated a little different. This is not a resort hotel or area but a bit of old Florida without the tourist trap stuff.

Great little place with a deck and water view!
What a quaint little place to stay with a shared deck with water view. Was a cute little place, staff friendly and helpful. Good restaurant right there with $10.00 gift certificate given at check in.. we didn’t use it as we wanted to get down the road, only open for breakfast and brunch. Found a good restaurant downtown for dinner and it was great. Would come back again, it’s not a 5star but it’s a great little place to stay.

Older hotel, very clean comfortable room . Walking distance to all attractions Ormond and Rainey house, oyster city brewing,great seafood at Grill. The whole experience was what I had hoped for a relaxing weekend looking at the water and wildlife with food and entertainment within walking distance. A step back in time into a small fishing community.

We thought we had a Balcony and wanted one and they could not provide it, and we had lots of little gnats and bugs in our bathroom in our room they were very nice about it to us that as well but it was very uncomfortable with the bugs

The inn does not live up to it's expectation. It shows its age, there is no elevator to the second floor. While we thought we were reserving a specific room, we were given a different room. The bed and breakfast turned out to be a ten dollar credit for breakfast which after the credit was still very expensive. The view and location were excellent. The staff were courteous.

Very quiet motel with a fabulous river view! Breakfast was excellent and the hotel staff very friendly. The motel itself needs a bit of paint and upkeep. The room itself was comfortable and clean. The outside is in rough shape and needs some elbow grease. I would stay again if passing through!

The best thing about River Inn is it's right on the river and a block from town. The Inn needs a lot of work and sprucing up. The room was clean and comfortable.

dear Mo, Thanks for your input. Our inn is board and batten pecky cypress. Most water front facilities on the Florida west coast are of similar construction. Cedar Key a similar waterfront facility is the same. The other older riverfront locations south of the river inn are the same. This is not neglect and can be pressure washed but in a short time will return to the same look. Thanks for your review and concern

Von aussen ein sehr heruntergekommendes Gebäude , Zimmer waren dagegen wieder o.k..., tolle Lage direkt am River und Nähe zur Downtown, Restaurant war gut.., Frühstück amerikanisch gut..., Hotel Preis Leistung passt aber nicht ....man bezahlt die Lage am Fluss viel zu hoch...

Take A Step Back In Time
This place was just amazing in all aspects. Simple and down to earth. It was so great to vacation without all the traffic, noise, crowds, and the wait's in line to get something good to eat or see an attraction. You could go to a bar or pub and it was not over crowded or with that loud rock or rap music. Overall, you can "enjoy your vacation". Thank you Apalachicola for letting me discover a piece of true paradise.

OK place. Nothing special
No in room Wi-Fi. No movie channel. Room was just ok. Older facility but it was clean enough. The view over the water was great. Restaurant was not open for dinner - breakfast and lunch only. Ten dollar voucher for breakfast helped, but would not cover. People were very nice.

So if your coming to A R Inn, come for the great views and the beauty of the area, as a primitive camper I have a different view of accommodations. I’ve read several reviews that were complaining of the toilet overflowing, well mine overflowed being flushed with nothing in it, however, being literally directly on the water, the tides can cause the pressure to fluctuate, which causes this to happen. It’s a great place, with good food, to me personally it’s not about the room, it’s about the peace, & quiet.

BEST TRIP!!!
We arrived an hour or two early. Told her room was not available but were willing to find another as they were booked. She called the maintenance worker about the room, and he came into the office to say oh give us about 30 more minutes to finish up. We went ahead and checked in as we had other things to do. We got to our room and we were in love with our view, our room, the hotel, the RIVER, the city, and everything about our trip. The staff was SOOOO very friendly. We honestly can not wait to come back!!

Do not book through Expedia.
I booked our room through Expedia.com. When I booked it it was for a queen size bed, but when I got there to check in they had me booked for two full-size beds. My husband is pretty tall and the full-size bed did not accommodate him. It was not what we ordered. They were booked, and could not change our rooms.

Nice location.
This is an older facility that needs some real TLC. It's a great location right on the water. Musty smell to room but neat and clean. Old furnishings. Comfortable bed. Bath room was updated sometime in the 60's. Sink plunger not connected so could not fill sink for shaving but clean. Overall, good experience regardless of condition. Boss Oyster restaurant connected to facility had excellent menu and was delicious. Caroline's dinning room food was great. But both need updating too.

Fantastic river view
Old and a little lopsided but a true Florida experience as rated by a returning Florida Gulf Coast native. Listening to the gulls and water lapping the boats on the dock, watching the sun gild the marsh grasses - never want to leave this room!

They said free WiFi and complimentary breakfast, not so, WiFi only in the lobby and a $10 coupon for your breakfast. First day breakfast at 7 no one showed up until after 8. Room was very clean and bathroom new. Problem was they had a rug down in front of sink and when you moved it there was a big hole in floor, we had booked for 3 nights and decided to leave after 2 and they don't give a refund, only a gift certificate to come back. When I said we probably will not be back this was she said we could use it in there gift shop which only sold liquor (overpriced) and t-shirts! Room 2 had view of eating area.

Charming but overpriced!
The room I stayed in had a leak coming from the shower in the room above noticed from the big brown ring on the ceiling. The room was very outdated considering the money that was paid for it.

Nice inn on the river
Nice inn on the river. Could sit on the pier right outside your door. Lots of birds to watch as the sun set. I liked that I could open the windows and listen to the river.
