When I arrived I couldn't get hold of the owner as he wasn't answering his phone and didn't have the curtesy to reply to the several messages I left, both in the form of answer phone and text. I had to contact Hotels.com via the online chat. Eventually one of the owners employees phoned me and said he would come and let me in. Once in the property, things didn't really improve. “We really enjoyed our stay at Lakeview Barn , it was spacious and clean and the location was perfect for the purpose of our trip , to visit family in the area. Its location on the lake and nearby Hicks cycle centre make it a great base for outdoor activities too. My son really enjoyed fishing and would have made more use of the lake if the weather had not been so wet !”

“It was as nice and cosy I expected it from the pictures, and it was clean although recognizable that no one had lived there for a while.The check in went smooth until I tried to open the box with the code; that was not easy without any description (but I finally managed).The fireplace is lovely (egg coal provided & I bought a lighter, kindling and some additonal fire wood at a supermarked).
