“Nice position above the town and for exploring the local area. Expect to be challenged by the odd hill or two but you are rewarded by fantastic views. The deluxe studio was small and well equipped but not really “deluxe”. If you moderate your expectations this place provides everything you need for a stay in the area.”

For the room we had, there was a very bright security light from the neighbouring property up the hill, and the light shone onto the thin curtains of our room, and when the tree branches moved inbetween it created quite a light show in our room. “We stayed one night in one of the Garden Suites. However we were disappointed to find the buildings and grounds dirty and not maintained very well. Trees required trimming and overgrown areas needed clearing as they were attracting a lot of flies and midgies. The room itself was ok, bed was comfy and water was hot, however the overall appearance of the walls and ceiling was really tired compared to the images promoted. “The Royal Oak Inn is situated in a lovely area. It was easy for us to park. On arrival which was somewhat late, there was no one to look after us. I got the attention of someone in the kitchen who alerted the manager. We were given our room key and on arrival in the room I noticed that there was quite a bit of hair in the sink and some in the bathtub as well.
