Sweeping panoramic mountain views, expansive adobe privacy wall system

Arroyo Seco - Des Montes - Half way between Taos Village and Taos Ski Valley - 9 miles in either direction

Taos, Adobe Abode - Taos Lodging at its finest. An upscale contemporary luxury 3 bedroom / 3 bathroom southwest style home is located half way between the town of Taos and Taos Ski Valley on a quiet rural road with uninterrupted views of the Sangre de Christo mountains to the North and incredible sunsets over the mesa to the west Jemez Mountains.

Recently redesigned, remodeled and "furnished to the nines" with southwest ambiance, art, furniture, rugs, pottery and accessories. No walls are shared between the three bedrooms with each being located in a separate corner of the home with the addition of buffered patio space between them. Each bedroom has its own bathroom and ceiling fan to insure cool comfort day and night. In addition, every window has the added luxury of "sun shades" also a great "sun shine" defense against heat.

A spacious open floor plan with central chef's kitchen is a perfect setting for friendly gatherings.

Landscaped, adobe walled private courtyards surround the home and include a Susan Raymond designed garden, hot tub, outdoor built in gas grill on the patio, comfortable seating and serene views of Taos Mountain.

Enjoy such amenities as high speed internet, satellite, Netflix, DVD, a selection of recent fiction, down pillows, 100% cotton sheets, Cuisinart cookware, colorful Fiesta dishes. Enjoy a nice soak in the Master Bathroom1 Jacuzzi Bath Tub.

Guests enjoy incomparable views of starry, starry skies viewed from a very private 6 person hot tub without city lights - a very rare treat private home set on 2 acres.

A very quiet and beautiful property

Everything was wonderful we couldn’t have stayed at a better property for our 30th anniversary and my wife’s surprise birthday party with family. Large house with lots of privacy and a beautiful walled in courtyard that all rooms open up to with private entrances. Bathrooms in every room makes getting ready in the morning a breeze for everyone. Hot was amazing and clean. Wonderful open common area kitchen, longing room and kitchen all open to allow great conversation with everybody. Beautiful majestic mountain views all around and incredible sunsets. We will be back!

The views were beyond beautiful.... Mountains and sunsets. Caretaker was attentive to all our needs. It was located central to our activities which included fishing in Red River, Wild Rivers, and the Rio Hondo as well as hiking (Wheeler Peak!), and restaraunts in Taos. We can't wait to stay at Adobe Abode again.

The kitchen was very functional (except for no cutting board). Each bedroom had particular advantages so that no one felt slighted. Fantastic bathrooms. "Courtyard Sitting" was the main activity. Although conveniently located, the house felt very secluded. All in all, it was an exceptional property.

Two large master bedrooms and baths made this the perfect property for our 2 families travelling together. The small children were very safe playing in the enclosed garden. Beautiful furnishings and a large kitchen made us feel at home. We enjoyed opening the windows and the great breezes and the sounds of the fountain. We cannot wait to come back.

It has an awesome kitchen, great outdoor seating areas and a nice big feel to it but privacy as well. This is definitely worth checking out if you are looking for a place to go with your family or a group of friends. Just far enough away but close enough to get to town quickly if you'd like. A+ for this vacation!

40th Anniversary Family Getaway

We drove from Albuquerque stopped for groceries and went straight to Adobe Abode and into the hot tub. The house was perfect with the 3 wings of private bedrooms for our two children and their spouses. The beautiful gardens were in bloom the first week of June. It was a perfect location, great hiking in the mountains and the gorge, also rafting and horseback riding...we stayed busy. We ended most days at the Mesa Taos Brewery then the hot tub and then prepared dinner in the well stocked kitchen. The sunsets were outstanding and stars even better. The only negative were the dogs barking at varmits in the middle of the night. We will return, still lots to do.

The house was open and had plenty of room for my family and friends. We loved sitting in the hot tub at night and enjoyed looking at the beautiful stars. One of my favorite things was getting up in the morning and fixing a cup of coffee and going outside to look at the beautiful snow-capped mountains! The caretakers were very friendly also! We would definitely recommend this house because we had an amazing time!

A Must Stay!

If you are looking at the Taos area for a get away for either in season or out of season, this property is a must. It truly has it all. A large gourmet kitchen with all of the features you would want plus fantastic views. A great room that is extremely spacious and comfortable which flows right into a family/media room to relax in. There are three well appointed bedrooms with two adjacent baths that have large, walk in showers. The master has his and hers baths and a large adjustable-angle, wall-mounted, flat screen TV along with a walk out patio to a Jacuzzi tub & sauna to relax your weary bones in! Extras include a laundry room, a game room with ping pong and pool tables, an outdoor gas range, a very large landscaped lot that sits off the road, a zen garden that is located in the center of the home in middle courtyard covered by a motorized skylight roof that opens and closes at the push of a button! We did not have a chance to use it as we were there in the summer season, but there is in-floor radiant heat throughout the home. All rooms are tastefully decorated and set with comfortable furniture. The home is located in an upscale neighborhood just outside of the town of Taos and is mere minutes away from shopping and dining anywhere in Taos. The views of the mountains and of the town are great and the night skies are stunning. Drives to Santa Fe, Taos Ski Resort, Casinos, the Rio Grande River Gorge, etc. are easy day trips and well worth the drive. We really enjoyed shopping in Taos and Santa Fe along with sampling the delicious cuisine of the area. All in all, we had a wonderful time at this property (we use VRBO often) which was just what we needed for a relaxing and fun get away. This is definitely a case where the professionally done pictures are indicative of the quality of this home. Enjoy! ~ Mark & Erika

With mountain views out back and high desert views out the front it was perfect. the back patio was lovely and we as a group of 6 spent most of our time sitting, reading and visiting there. Sorry our time was cut short could have stayed for weeks.
