“Didas Villa was the perfect place to stay before our Safari. The owner, Fred, met us at check-in. We arrived kind of late and very hungry. He offered to cook for us or to drive us to a restaurant. He drove us to a wonderful restaurant called Amber. It was delicious with an Indian inspired menu. After dinner we called Fred and he came to pick us up. “I love this hotel! It’s clean and super safe (they have a security guard at the gate). The staff is helpful and welcoming. They can help you find restaurants, get a a taxi, even just answer questions about Tanzanian culture. Most speak very good English. The owner is onsite almost everyday and really nice. “Kibo Palace Apartments is exceptionally good value if you stay for at least a full week. The apartment was spacious and had everything needed. In a very busy shopping area downtown, close to the market, Khan's barbecue and Five Chutneys vegetarian Indian restaurant, so an excellent though very different experience overall. Cleaning by request, so not intrusive. Basic toiletries and towel.”
