Wonderful and spacious apartment in the center of town. Excellent furnishings and very comfortable bed. Apartment sized unit with 800ft2. Very well equipped kitchen for meals but why cook when fabulous restaurants are steps away. Located in the building with the Kimpton affording the use of their amenities including gym, spa, morning coffee bar, evening wine tasting. Very pet friendly building. Overall an outstanding and upscale place to stay in Asheville. We won't stay anywhere else when we return.

We absolutely loved our stay at the mountain gem! It was a very luxurious stay and the building was beautiful as well. It was located central to everything in town and we were able to walk everywhere. I would definitely stay here again!

Mountain Gem is a great condo downtown in Asheville. Amazing view from the large windows that open so you can enjoy the mountain air! Very clean and a great location to walk to everything. There is a great bar downstairs if you want to stay in. The host are very nice and responsive. Saw some post about noise but it was not loud at all. You may hear a fire truck a time or 2 but it’s about 30 seconds and not loud indoors. Would love to come back again soon!

This condo in downtown Asheville was the perfect place for our weekend getaway. The condo was beautiful, clean, and you cannot beat the convenience of the location. The valet parking included was a huge value add to the whole stay. 10/10 recommend and will be back.

The property was completely as advertised. It is convenient to everything in Downtown Asheville. The kitchen was the best stocked kitchen we have ever had in a VRBO rental. The views of the Blue Ridge Mountains was incredible. The apartment was immaculate and provided us a great meeting place for the people we were visiting and visiting with. The staff at the Arras and the property manager went out of their way to be responsive to all of our needs and questions. They are very cognizant of the Kimpton name and represent it extremely well in all aspects of service.

We thoroughly enjoyed our stay at Mountain Gem. The staff was attentive and helpful. The unit was super clean, comfortable and had everything we could have needed, including dog bowls for our pups. We loved the central location while we explored the downtown area.

We enjoyed our stay at Mountain Gem. The only drawback is property is near a fire station and hospital. The sirens blast all hours of the day. I lived in Manhattan and never experience the level of noise I heard. For a high end building it should have been constructed with better sound proof windows. Other than that the place is wonderful, beautiful views, great food in the restaurants and close to all attractions.

We typically stay out of downtown at B&Bs and walk in. Well, we have no regrets booking this spot. Incredibly refined accommodations, incredible location and view, and great food & drink on the first floor. Highly recommend and we will be back!

The vacation rental in the residence side of the Arras hotel in Asheville was wonderful. The location is unbeatable, especially since you can bring your dogs. We had a wonderful experience and enjoyed the hotel atmosphere, but with the added bonus of having your own condo.

The apartment is true to listing and really impressive upon entry. The valet and entry is easy, the building is beautiful and well-kept. The location is fantastic and makes for easy access to all of downtown by foot. The flat itself is on a quiet hall with other Vrbo renters, but we only saw one other renter in our 5 days. The view was amazing. We did hear street sounds but it did not disrupt our sleep. The place is well appointed with basics, and the coffee was local and delicious. The only essential missing for the coffee was creamer and the front desk assisted me with that. We would definitely rent this unit again!

You can’t beat the location and amenities of this property if you want to stay in downtown Asheville. We stayed for a month and enjoyed every minute! The management is very responsive and attentive. We will definitely be staying there again!

(Our family stayed in two units, so this review is a duplicate of our review of the other unit, as our experience in both was excellent.) We definitely want to return! These units were excellent for our family. I can't say enough good things. The views from the units was sublime, the kitchen was stocked with all the things we needed to be able to cook, the high quality bedding and mattress and black-out curtains gave us excellent rest and night's sleep. The self controllable temperature for AC/heat was important for us, so that was great. The units are in the same building as a hotel, but are not technically affiliated with the hotel. Yet, the hotel staff that we interacted with as we went up and down to our units were SO lovely and welcoming, and the entire building was doing an excellent job of trying to be covid safe for everyone! (For example, signs by the elevators that said "Please have only two people or one family in the elevators for physical distancing.") I bring that up because we had friends staying in a different hotel that didn't do covid precautions very well, and the staff at the other hotel were not as skilled as the ones in our building. We were really impressed by comparison. The gym facility was fantastic, and the restaurant located in the hotel was DELICIOUS. Bonnie and Caitlin were the people in charge of our units and they were absolutely delightful! They helped us with any need we had. Some people in my family have special needs and therefore have high standards for where they stay when traveling, and there was not a single complaint from any of them. THAT alone says a lot! Walking distance to tons of shops, restaurants, and amenities. The only constructive tip I would mention is that the elevators in the building can be very confusing to use for elderly people, or people not technically savvy. We got used to them quickly, but it would have been good to have more specific instructions about how to use them for our very first ride. Other than that, everything was excellent! We hope to return!

We've now stayed in 3 of the units at this location, and this one was the worst (the others were wonderful). The biggest detractor was the noise of flushing toilets above this unit. It sounds as though all the plumbing from the upper floors runs right through the ceiling in the bathroom of this unit. Every couple minutes, during certain times of the day, you can hear the distinctive whoosh of plumbing sounds as toilets were flushed. We also got periodic smells of sewer gas that seemed to coincide with the whooshing of the toilet flushes. It wasn't constant, but at least a couple times per day we'd smell the sewer gas. And finally, this unit seemed less well cared for than the others. For example, there were two hooks on the wall of the living room that were obviously for pieces of art that were missing. Why didn't they take the hooks out? Or why didn't they replace the missing art? Also, the unit was missing coat hooks, which were sorely missed since the crisp autumn air necessitated coats. All summed up, we'll definitely stay at the other units at this establishment again, (their service, location, amenities, and all the other units we've seen are wonderful), but we'll avoid this particular unit.

The property was beautiful. Perfect location and view was great. Kitchen amenities could be improved. Need mixing bowls and serving bowls. Since we were visiting during the pandemic, we cooked a lot and didn't have everything we needed. Over all, very nice property.

This is the perfect spot from which to set out on foot to explore downtown Asheville. There is a lot to see in the immediate area, including Pack Park, art galleries and restaurants. This condo is in a recently remodeled historic high rise former bank building. The first nine floors are the Kimpton Hotel, the 10th floor are VRBO condos and the upper floors are all private condos. Even though the VRBO condos are not associated with the hotels, VRBO guests use the hotel elevators and hotel valet parking and the hotel staff are super friendly and helpful. Having a restaurant and bar just downstairs is very convenient. Even though there is a kitchen in the condo, it isn’t really set up for anything other than coffee or take out—there isn’t a dining table, just stools along the kitchen counter. But, that’s fine because there are just so many great restaurants to try! The den, bedroom and bathroom are all lovely. The floor to ceiling windows in the den and bedroom showcase the northern view of downtown with the beautiful hills just beyond. We appreciated the convenience of having a washer/dryer in the condo. One note for those who are bothered by street noise in hotels: there is a charming historic fire station just a block away so you might consider bringing a sound machine for restful sleep.
