“Lovely quiet and small guest house with delighful garden and pool area. Twin beds available. Nice breakfast and great friendly staff who booked our dinner reservations at 2 excellent restaurants. Highly recommended.”

“Our stay was great. The host was outside and greeted us when we drove up. She directed us to our room (an upgrade) and explained the services, mainly breakfast since it was winter. Speaking of breakfast, the hot plate was delicious, a great start to our morning. Only issue was the cold. It was in the high 30s/low 40s and there was no heat in the room or breakfast area. The extra blanket helped, but there was no where to sit that was a reasonable temperature. The staff we met were all fabulous....

“This is one of my favourite places near Robertson. Beautiful setting with a little pond you can overlook from the bar. In the evening phantastic atmosphere and vwry peaceful. Also the staff very friendly and I received an excellent breakfast. Had been here before when it still was Rosendal Winery. Now new owners who have some excellent ideas how to develop the place. I really enjoyed the discussion with them. Hope to come back one day and see the further development”

“Il y avait personne pour acceuillir les gens l,hotel est fermée cause maladie du proprietaire qui est a l,hopital, c,est le voisin d,en face qui m,a prevenu j,y suis retourné 3 heures plus tard tout etait cadenassé, je suis allé a u touriste information ils m,ont aidé à trouver un autre hotel qui est Montagu Country Hotel j,ai du déboursé 65$US alors je demande a etre remboursé pour ma reservation au Kinga Lodge Montagu pour service non rendu merci Serge Godbout email, tipit66@Hotmail.com ”

“Good and bad impressions”

“We’ve stayed 3 or 4 times at Excelsior, and, as last visit, had a wonderful time. The setting is amazing, Kirstin who runs it is lovely, very efficient and an amazing cook! James who is maitre d’, is also very personable and helpful. Both of them make sure your stay is top class. There’s a golf buggy you can use to look round the vineyard. The wine is very good indeed, and guests get to drink it free, whether lounging round the beautiful pool or enjoying one of Kirstin’s wonderful...

“This property is actually Mimosa Lodge. Lovely, old property - the bathroom was a bit dated but the air conditioning was powerful and it was quiet. Beautiful verandah. Highlight of the stay was the on site restaurant - gobsmackingly incredible food! Great staff!”

“From the moment that we checked in, Mike and May the owners made us feel at home. They are such friendly and helpful hosts. The cottage was up a flight of steps and Mike carried our cases up for us. Everything anyone could need was there. Spotlessly clean. A very comfortable bed. A sitting out area overlooking their gardens. A very safe and secure area from which we walked just a short distance into the town. Highly recommended. ”

“Great weekend in the old farmhouse (built in 1760). Quiet and relaxing with everything you need - just bring food, the rest is there. House was spotless and stocked with everything you need from crockery and cutlery to pots and pans, firewood, braai grid, fire lighters and even matches. TV with full DSTV channels was a bonus to watch the rugby. It has 2 separate bedrooms each with a bathroom and can sleep 9 people. Highly recommended. ”
